  1. True, but how do I access that Meta Data when I am looking at the Windows client? I guess my problem is that it works differently in the Web and Windows client. I can see both ways in the Web client, but I can't figure out how to see the Meta Data in the Windows client.
  2. When I use the EN3 Firefox add-on to clip web pages to the Windows client, the notes get a link at the bottom saying "Go to source web page: ..." This does not occur when I use the "Clip to Evernote" link for the web only client. I really like that feature in the Windows client, but I am not allowed to have the Windows client on one of my office PCs. Is there any way to setup the Web client to do the same thing?
  3. Interesting. Does EN3 only search the text of the PDF or does it use the EN3 OCR to also search images within PDFs? Just curious...
  4. Is there a way to view the source URL in the Windows client? I see the "Clipped from" source in the web client, but I can't seem to find it in the Windows client. Thanks!
  5. Yeah, I am looking at EN3 and OneNote. So far OneNote seems more robust, but lacks the web sync which is really important to me based on how I plan to use it. I feel constrained when using EN3 compared to OneNote, but I do understand that this is a Beta and it seems more like a rework of the entire product than an upgrade. I think the challenge for EN3 is to add back all the functionality it contained in EN2 (based on what I have read and seen via others posts), at least for the PC/MAC clients, while maintaining portability (web portal, mobile client, and sync). If EN can add many of the functions it had in prior versions, it will likely become my product of choice. If not, I will keep looking for a solution.
  6. I was reading the What's this beta all about? thread in this forum and there is an indication that a roadmap would be published. This thread was posted back in February, so I am assuming this roadmap is out there somewhere, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it. Where can I find the roadmap mentioned in the following quote? I have several things that I would like to see added to the product. If I could see the roadmap I could determine what is already planned and what I should suggest. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Thanks for the info. As you can see in the attachment, I made the changes. Here are my results: 1) New emails I create are automatically created in HTML format and EN3 creates notes with the embedded image. 2) When I forward an email that was previously saved or sent to me by someone else and was in Rich Text format, the image is not received by EN3. 3) If I change an email type to Rich Text prior to sending, EN3 does not get the image. I think you are likely correct, but sadly the changes identified in that article only fixed the issue for new emails. Why does Microsoft always have to use proprietary formats that mess with other apps?? Can't we all just get along?? Thanks again for the help!
  8. More details for my last post: EN3 does not get the embedded image from emails when emails are sent using the following: Outlook 2003, MS Word as the editor, email format Rich Text. If I change the email format from Rich Text to HTML, EN3 gets the image in the note. This sounds like a bug. Thanks!

  10. Bummer! I really like the way those categories are split out in that version. Sad this feature didn't make the cut. Hopefully the powers that be will decide to add it back to EN3. Thanks for the reply!
  11. I sent the same email with the same screenshot today and, while it made it to Evernote much faster, Evernote still didn't get the screenshot. It's just a blank note with a title. Here are the details of the email: The email with the image was empty in Evernote. I was using Outlook 2003 when I sent the email and the body of the email only contained a pasted screenshot. The screenshot was pasted directly into the email, not an attachment. Also, I have Outlook setup to use MS Word as my email editor. So, this is still a problem. Please let me know if you need further details.
  12. I was looking at the "What EverNote Does for Me..." forum and found a the thread titled How vogelap uses EverNote -- it's del.icio.us for his life!. This thread has examples of subcategories and different icons for those subcategories. How can I add those to my notebooks? I am using the Windows and Web clients. Thanks!
  13. I am new to the Evernote Beta. I am finding the tool very useful, so much so that I am starting to put information into Evernote that I am not putting elsewhere. So, knowing this is a Beta, I am a bit concerned that I should start backing up my database locally, just in case there is a bug or something that deletes a notebook or 3... I am already using the Windows client, which I know keeps a local database. Does anyone have directions for backing up that database? Thanks!
  14. I emailed an image to Evernote and ran into a few problems: 1) The emails took a long time to actually make it into Evernote. I sent the email with the image and then followed it up with 2 test emails and a couple hours later none of them were in my notebook. I checked again about 4 hours after emailing and they are there, but I ran into problem 2 below... 2) The email with the image was empty in Evernote. The text only emails came in fine. I was using Outlook 2003 when I sent the email and the body of the email only contained a pasted screenshot. The screenshot was pasted directly into the email, not an attachment. Also, I have Outlook setup to use MS Word as my email editor. Hope I provided enough info. If not, let me know. Thanks for all the hard work on Evernote!! BTW... Where should we be submitting beta issues, like this, to? Is it ok to just put a forum post like this or should we send an email?
