  1. My mistake! BIG apologies to Pavel, founder of Nimbus. When I first signed up something made me think that Nimbus was based in Russia but I've never had reason to follow up on it. As for the Russian (Soviet Russia) connection, Pavel is originally from Uzbekistan but is now in Cleveland. The company appears to be registered in Delaware. LinkedIn shows 14 employees and it does appear that some may be located in Eastern Europe. I've been with Nimbus for quite a while and I'm very happy with their software. That's why I mentioned it as an alternative. Pavel has clearly positioned Nimbus as an alternative to Evernote and it functions very similarly. The pricing is very reasonable and Nimbus continually adds enhancements. It has several features that I particularly like, including some SnagIt type functionality. I'm about to try out EN V10. I'm a little concerned given how many complaints I've seen but I feel fairly confident that I could switch from EN to Nimbus if I had to do it. Keep in mind that I am not a "power" user so I'm not as sensitive to functionality as some (e.g., I don't do notes on mobile platforms). I do take a lot of notes, though and I like the EN look and feel so Nimbus is a natural for me. I'm very happy with EN, as well, so I have no plans to switch. I use them both about equally but for different purposes. Since I signed up with Nimbus relatively early on I've been with them through a growth phase. The company was founded in 2014 and I signed up in 2018. As a result, I've had some occasions to contact them for technical support and they've always been responsive and helpful.
  2. I recently went to the "Support" site, filled in some of the questions and then chose the "Chat" option. I got a live person who was able to help. The link is https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Note that the canned questions didn't directly address my problem so I filled in what I thought was relevant and left the others blank. Good luck.
  3. I don't know if this will serve your purposes, but I've used Nimbus Notes for some time and it appears to be a reasonable alternative to EN. It's very affordable. Nimbus is clearly positioned to be very similar to EN. Note that I don't use EN or Nimbus on a cellphone or tablet. I'm strictly a desktop person so I can't speak to cross device coordination. Also, note that Nimbus is based in Russia. I don't use Nimbus for any confidential records so it's not an issue. They've been around for several years now and I haven't seen any complaints regarding security so I doubt that there's any problem there, but I thought I'd mention it.
  4. For what it is worth I appear to be having the same problem(s). Note that I use the desktop version for the most part. I am finding the program VERY SLOW to respond. In fact, the more I look into it the more it appears that the various problems I'm encountering are all related to the slow response time. I just now highlighted text, performed a right-click, and waited. It took about 15 seconds for the popup screen to appear. I have also noted a difference in response depending on the length of the highlighted section. Trying to scroll within a note has also been hit and miss and VERY SLOW to respond. I was recently forced to upgrade to the new version. My installation is: 10.13.4-win-ddl-public (2607) Editor: v123.0.15939 Service: v1.34.4 I don't have the same issues (right-click, scrolling) with the web-based version but it does take a long time to load.
  5. Thanks to both for the clarifications. I will lay low and wait to see how Version 10 works out. The "Home" option looks mildly interesting but doesn't look like anything I can't live without for now. Wayne
  6. Hi, I'm confused. I have Evernote (Premium) and I'm using it with Windows 10. I have 6.25.1.9091 (309091) Public (CE Build ce-62.6.10954). When I check for updates I'm advised that I have the latest version. As noted in the C. Rhoads comment it appears that there is a later version. If so, why am I getting the message that there is no update? The reason I'm curious (not to mention totally confused as to why there would be a v10.10) is that the "Home" screen recently released is not showing up on my system. In any case any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I was using Chrome in my earlier post. I should have mentioned that earlier. In the way of an update. With Chrome I could not capture a Bookmark with the site set to either language. I was able to use all the other capture options (Article, Simplified Article, Full Page, and Screenshot). I tried using Firefox and was able to capture a Bookmark with either language option. I was also able to use all the other capture options, as in Chrome. In sum, then the only option that did not work was Chrome/Bookmark. It may just be a Chrome issue but it seems odd that it would only impact one capture option.
  8. Thanks for the quick response! You've probably hit on the issue. The site in question is a photo archive and is, natively, Hungarian. The link I provided was the English version but I note that your capture is showing the Hungarian version. I'll explore it further. If I find a way around the problem I'll post an update.
  9. Recently I've begun to have problems with bookmarking. I don't have any problems using the other capture options and the bookmark problem only occurs on some sites. Following is an link to one site where I've experienced the problem: https://fortepan.hu/?language=en-US&image_id=57975 When I try to bookmark this site I get a spinning circle. The capture never completes. This seems site specific but it's odd because I've used Evernote for years and never had problems bookmarking sites. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
