  1. There's a danger to using a commercial application like Evernote for something that's fundamental and permanent in your life. This is a prime example why. Evernote 10 has been pretty bad experience so far. The only hope Evernote users have is that over time, its deficiencies will be mitigated. Perhaps the Context feature was deemed to be too difficult to implement, so was dropped in the transition. Perhaps it was simply a whim of the Evernote management or development team. One can hope that perhaps features like Context will be reinstated when the Evernote management or development team is gripped by another, opposite, whim. But that's only a hope. To my knowledge, the open source alternatives to Evernote are not very compelling so far, but that could change very quickly with the right support.
  2. Interesting. I'm now in a completely bizarre predicament. 1. I'm still unable to use the Evernote clipper in Firefox. Nothing I've tried has changed the behavior at all. 2. After using OneNote for a bit, I was surprised at how much better it was than when I first tried it. In my opinion, it's now so much better than Evernote, that switching to OneNote is a no-brainer. 3. Microsoft has a tool to import notes from Evernote into OneNote. It's officially no longer supported, and it's not perfect, but it works. What I hope is that if enough people petition Microsoft and express interest in switching, they'll reanimate the project. Just a shout out, anyone reading this who hasn't fired up OneNote in a while, should take another look; it's a fairly amazing product and it's free. 4. I had not tried out Microsoft Edge until you mentioned it in your post. The Evernote clipper in Edge works for me. If I wanted to continue using Evernote, which I don't, switching to Edge would be an option. It's actually a very appealing browser. 5. Here's the insane thing. As far as I can tell, Microsoft has not produced a OneNote clipper for its own Edge browser.
  3. Follow up question: I just tested Microsoft OneNote Web Clipper and it seems to be working fine. I can't really afford to wait an indefinite time period for Evernote to fix their clipper, so I'm going to switch to OneNote, at least temporarily. Is there an automated tool that can import my Evernote notes into OneNote?
  4. OS X Catalina 10.15.5, Firefox 78.0.1 I have not had a problem with this add-on until a few days ago. Now, when I try to clip a web page, the dialog pops up as normal, I enter the format, the notebook, the tags, etc. Then I click the "Save clip" button and it takes a very long time with the spinning green circle with "Syncing" next to it. After that, there's an error message: Clipper has encountered an error Unknown error occurred. undefined/undefined Message did timeout At the bottom of the error message is a link, "Copy Logs." Here's a typical log: 2020\7\3 07:46:22 LOG: ------ Button clicked ------- 2020\7\3 07:46:22 LOG: Reloading account in slot 0 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: Got user name: "null" (1806701). 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: 1806701: Sync started 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: 1806701: Sync from USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: 1806701: Purging 0 notes. 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: Get recommendations for 1806701 1806701 0 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: 1806701: Sync completed USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:46:23 LOG: 1806701: Sync finished 2020\7\3 07:46:25 LOG: 1806701: Sync started 2020\7\3 07:46:25 LOG: 1806701: Sync from USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:46:25 LOG: 1806701: Sync completed USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:46:26 LOG: 1806701: Sync finished 2020\7\3 07:46:46 LOG: Capturing content with article 2020\7\3 07:46:55 LOG: Captured content, length: 84746 2020\7\3 07:50:42 LOG: Reloading account in slot 0 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: Got user name: "null" (1806701). 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync started 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync from USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Purging 0 notes. 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync completed USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync finished 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync started 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync from USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync completed USN: 26877 2020\7\3 07:50:43 LOG: 1806701: Sync finished
  5. It's silly to have to comment on this, especially after the issue has been unresolved for years. Anyone who can't see why users would need the ability to adjust the size of their tables should seek their true calling in life; all I can say is it's not in software.
