TERMINATOR

I am having sync problem, and I'm following the checklist of how to resolve this. One step says to right-click the trash and empty it. However, there's no directions on how to do this, where it's located, or what the icon looks like. The directions are very vague. Please help. All I see is the trash symbol to delete a specific NOTE, not to delete the trash itself. Thanks.
