  1. I checked the web version. Not a single "hole" was found. Is this really a bug in Evernote for Windows?
  2. The space between the note and the menu appears when I expand the note.
  3. I think I won with a score of 51:43 ;)))))) Three little used buttons take up most of the menu.
  4. One more thing. @Federico Simionato plz, Add a blue border around selected notes when viewing in list mode like in snippet mode. I have good eyesight, but even I can't tell if I've highlighted something or not. The lack of contrast is definitely not about productivity.
  5. 1. The application works faster. 2. Visually it became cleaner. I have some comments on two things. 1. Empty space between the note and the menu. I suspect that the developers plan to open multiple tabs in a window. 2. The AI button takes up a lot of space, and taking into account that in Ukrainian the words are already much longer than in English - unreasonably much for a button that I almost never use. I think it can easily be reduced to an icon without a description. I would rate it 4/5. Well, the problem with the web-clipper is still not solved. Smart categorization doesn't work, it works very badly with mail service - the clipper doesn't see the opened email and tries to save all the contents of the mail client.
  6. What I love about this forum is its objectivity. If you ask a question about what direction Evernote is developing, you're sure to find out how to properly share links)) Okay. That was a rhetorical question.
  7. none <<...a set of articles...>> For example, in Notion, you can quickly design a research or a short wiki on a project and send it to the customer. It's very convenient. https://biminua.notion.site/
  8. Hi all! Almost all posts complaining about Evernote begin with the date the forum members started using the notepad. Ok, I've been using EN since 2011. In that time, I've gone from notes like "oh, gotta remember to have a glass of beer on Friday" to databases, task schedulers, and a kanban board in a spreadsheet. I now have about 60,000 notes and about 1,000 tags. Yes, I'm a skilled user. I'm a journalist, writer, media strategist, and due to the invasion of f*ng russia in Ukraine, I'm also a volunteer. And no, I'm not going to leave Evernote. At least, it seems very challenging with my data baggage. But I'm genuinely trying to see if EN can be useful to me in 2024? Let's take a look. EN is still a great knowledge base solution with great search. Good text editor. And of course, has a great web clipper. And let's not forget about AI, I believe Evernote + AI = the right direction for the company and users. What's bad (from my perspective)? Very slow with my volume of notes. The program regularly freezes when moving to another note or notepad. (yes, yes, I periodically contact tech support). Unlike a smartphone, you can't select the number of notebooks to load on a PC. (That is, I always have minus 100 gb of disk space.) There is no color coding of notes in the list. I'm a visual person and I'm more comfortable navigating by color to quickly find the note I need. I get by with emoji in the header or tags, but would like a full-fledged solution. I know the issue of color highlighting is relevant to many users. Mass editing of notes is limited to 100 notes. No tool to find duplicate notes. Unable to change the image in the preview. It is impossible to quickly make notes into a mini-article (or a set of articles). It is impossible to integrate other services into EN. Yes, many will say "why do you need that?" and they'd be right, but I'm noticing more and more often that I use Notion to create a media plan or wiki because it's just more convenient there. And faster. Yes, I'm a skilled user and I can do something similar in EN as well. But I find myself in a dilemma. Either I'm building the knowledge ecosystem in Evernote with my own hands for a long time. Which in a moment can be destroyed with the next update, as in the case of Legacy. Or I have to use two or three other apps. Which is inconvenient and expensive, especially with everything that is going on in the world and Ukraine. You know, when a rocket flies over your head, you would rather buy bandages at the nearest pharmacy than pay for another service that "increases productivity. So I have a question for everyone. Is Evernote in 2024 a data storage and processing product or a productivity app? Because the company obviously can't implement both. I would like Evernote to be a niche product about data, about information, because there are not that many convenient services. Or, if they claim productivity, let them implement it to the fullest extent, so that users do not have to look for other products. Damn, they doubled the price, but they still haven't explained what product they're creating and for whom.
  9. Why did you decide that I am testing new features? I had several hundred files accumulated that I was going to add to Evernote. That's what I need Evernote for. I shared the result on the forum. What confuses you? Notion deletes notes in seconds. But if you think that for a year of developer experiments that I pay for with my subscription, I need to be silent, you and I have conceptual differences on the main question: why the product I'm paying for doesn't work as it should?
  10. I used the "import folder" function and got 200 empty files with no attachments. Okay, I told myself, and decided to delete them. The process of deleting notes took 40 minutes. Conclusion: It took almost an hour of my life to make sure that the Evernote developers were doing something wrong. Hey, why is it so slow? Make Evernote Fast Again!
  11. attack of clones;) @Shane D. In addition to the obvious problem with duplicating a notebook, I would also like to point out your attention to how many times it takes to click to expand / collapse a set of notebooks. Untitled.mp4
  12. Yes, I use biometrics login. ps Thank you so much! Disabled the password and it worked.
  13. Hello everyone. A funny situation. I wanted to take a screenshot of the application error, but I ran into the fact that screenshots cannot be taken in the Evernote application. The system shows an error that the application has forbidden to take screenshots. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
  14. EN 10.8.4, EN 6.25, notion, obsidian, onenote and google keep (+30 tabs). just compare
  15. 1. Scrolling through notes and the home page are noticeably faster. Good news. 2. Typing the text is still painful. The interval between pressing a key and showing on the display is 1-3 seconds. If you quickly type a few words and press Backspace - Evernote literally freezes. 3. Evernote still consumes a lot of laptop memory and gets very hot on the processor. it's like I'm rendering a video instead of printing text. 4. If, when adding a new tag to a note, press the key with the Cyrillic letter Б (English key <,), tag editing suddenly stops. 5. Annoying auto-formatting of text, which cannot be disabled. 6. The sidebar is still overloaded with unnecessary information like help buttons. 7. There is still no point in leaving version 6.25.
  16. Why not move rarely used buttons to profile bar? This will free up the necessary space in the sidebar. This would make life easier for owners of 13-inch notebooks.
  17. I'm ready to put up with bugs, the lack of functions, but the general slowness of EN is killing me. To be honest, it is more troubling than anything else that productivity hasn't improved much in recent months. Why do I need new features if I wait few seconds for the sign I typed to appear on the monitor?
  18. Updated EN to 10.3. I opened it, typed a few words in a new note, waited for the editor to display what was typed, drank coffee, returned to 6.25. oh yes, now you can see how many notes are in the notebooks. I have a question for the community. On November 17th I need to renew my Premium. What do you think, update or wait until EN is fixed (maybe), and work in another application?
  19. That's what I'm talking about: I want to be able to view all notes containing any of the tags in a subcategory. I don't need to look at the notes containing all the tags. I want to do it in one click, I do not want to add additional tags to the note. Just expand the entire list with no character limit. At 6.25 this works great.
  20. I have a lot of notes that contain at least one of the children's tags included in at least one major subgroup. And for me it is fundamentally important to have full access to the category. I study propaganda and if it is an easy task to find "Chinese posters of the 40s", then it is already difficult to look through all the propaganda posters - because there are more than 50 tags in the subgroup by country and period. I understand that this is my personal experience and is less important for other users. But there is one more thing. I use Ukrainian and Russian, where words are one and a half to two times longer than English ones. This is a real problem for me.
  21. I have no doubt that the developers will fix minor bugs. But globally, this is a different product. Not the product that the 10 Evernote Alternatives wrote about. Now Evernote has become an alternative to itself. I do not see any other way to convey outrage to the management of the company, except for the forum and public messages. You are absolutely right - technical support will not help with this.
  22. I immediately apologize for the clumsy language, English is not my native language. I've been using Evernote for 9 years. During this time, the "elephant" has become my main working tool. In the beginning it was rather difficult to switch from the tree structure of folders to tags, but in the end it played a decisive role. During this 9 years, I saw a lot that happened with Evernote: good and bad, but there was always movement forward. They often write about productivity on their blog and it's true. Evernote allowed you to work very quickly with any amount of information, take notes with cross-tags, customize the interface for yourself, and much more. Now, unfortunately, I see how Evernote is degrading. I like the new design of notes. I like the new tag bar. I like the new text highlighting. Everything else makes me angry. Because Evernote doesn't want to be productive anymore. For example, colored tags. If you are using Evernote for more complex tasks than saving recipes, color tags are a very good way to handle multitasking. A quick glance at a work notebook allows you to visually assess what needs to be done and what has already been done. Yes, I can open the tags panel or enter the tag into the search, but is it more productive than not clicking anywhere at all? Stupid 4096 character limit when selecting tags. For 9 years I have accumulated more than 30,000 notes, most of which I need for work. For orientation by notes, I use tags and tag groups. Let's say the recent debate between Trump and Biden includes 4 tags: Donald Trump, Joe Biden, electoral manipulation, debate. All of these tags are included in larger groups. For example, Politicians / US Politicians / Donald Trump. The sub-tag "US Politicians" contains over 100 names. Now I cannot select them all at once because there is a character limit. I am asked to add a parent tag to a note. Wonderful. Now instead of 4 tags, I'll add 7 or 8. This is very productive. Wonderful "productive" design of the new Evernote. Thanks to the developers, I now see half the information in the sidebar. But a third of the panel is given for elements that are not needed there at all. God, this is counter-productive! You were probably not picked up on the street, but you graduated from some design school, read books about ergonomics and interfaces, user experience? I also got a new, productive way to sync. I am typing, a sync error occurs and the typed text disappears. Excellent. Return local notebooks. I use Evernote on several devices, but mostly on a 13-inch laptop, which is convenient to carry around in my bag. This is quite a powerful laptop on which I edit videos, photos and play Warcraft at the highest graphics settings. But it is overheating right now when I type this text. I don’t understand how a note taker can consume more than 1 GB of RAM. It's just text, not a 3D rendering of the model. Hey guys, you are killing Evernote. You made the right decision to standardize all versions, but the implementation just sucks. Maybe you should remove productivity articles from your blog and replace them with gardening articles?
