You are all correct. You need a pc/mac connected all the time to the scanner in order for it to work directly with evernote. As we all want a one click always on solution this cannot rely on us using our laptops or ipads so why not usea raspberry pi. Us brits developed this so we can add personal computing to everyday tasks such as this. PM me if you want to know how. Matt
