  1. I've been a paying user in the past for a while, but switched back to the free plan when I wasn't happy with the new Evernote-10-client after its release. Still kept using Evernote (with only over 2k notes, not nearly as much content as you have). When this update hit, I just switched back to a paid plan (my problems with the new client have been solved so far, otherwise I would have left Evernote completely a while ago). I'm using the tool quite a bit, and I'm also paying for other services I'm using, like Spotify or Microsoft 365... Sounds like that is't really an option for you, though?
  2. I just realized that I accidentely posted in the wrong part of the forum. Sorry - this was supposed to go into "Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)". Looks like I can't move the topic myself. If anybody with the according rights sees this, feel free to move it to the Requests-part of the forum.
  3. I just tested this feature where you can grab notes from the left-side menu and can just pull them into notes. (I think this is still fairly new.) This is a lovely feature. But when I used one of the links I created for the first time, I had to realize that the app places web-links in the notes. So every time I click one, it switches me from the Evernote-app to my web-browser. Strangely enough, the same links to not switch over to the browser on the smartphone-app. There the weblinks still keep me inside the app if I open them from inside the app. Please consider other options to solve this. For example offer me a setting that links are always the internal app links (I never use web-links to the web-version) or switch the link-behaviour of the desktop-version to the one on mobile. If I am already in Evernote and I click a note-link, I would like to stay in my current program.
  4. I am also not too happy with this new tier-structure. If they wanted to establish another tier it is probably better to do this now, before they roll out more new features that they can't really take away the lower tiers later. So the timing makes sense, even though I am not sure that the higher price is well-chosen for a "note-and-todo-app"... But more important I really wanted to give Evernote a new chance. I am working with the new version 10 since it came out and I had to deal with many problems in these versions. I took all that on me in order to see how things develop and improve. The fact that some of these finally arriving benefits are now going to be blocked to me as a former "premium" member doesn't sit well with my monkey-brain-part. The way this was communicated in marketing-smoke didn't help either. Why not a "behind the scenes"-video with Ian explaining the decision to reduce premium to a tier-2-customer in a balanced way? These emails may have been (or maybe not) a good way to communicate this to other people, but they weren't to me. I'll continue to monitor Evernotes development and if the "personal"-level feels great by the time my subscription is up I may stay, but at the moment I am not happy with the way all this is handled. (The same is true for stuff like all the reports of people who have problems because they paid in different currencies or were not offered the local rate or situations like the user Alxa explained a few posts earlier. I do care how a company that I pay deals with problems and other customers... He can't access the feature for months because he paid in Evernote points?! And there is no way or you are not willing to bump up his account for these few months so he can keep his work up? And how did he get these points in the first place?)
  5. It seems more complicated than that: I thought this was solved (at least for me), but sometimes the error still comes up with Evernote 10.11. If I encounter it, it is still both the grey generic icon AND missing indexing of the image content. I was able to screen record the bug now and shared that with the support. I hope they are able to locate the bug sooner or later.
  6. I just saw on YouTube by chance that there is a new "behind the scenes" video about the "tasks"-feature. It looks like it wasn't shared in the forum so far, but maybe it is interesting for some people here as well:
  7. Do you still see this problem? A couple days ago I could still reproduce this bug: if I took a picture as a picture, it was indexed and showed a thumbnail. If I "scanned" it as a document it wasn't indexed and only showed the grey, generic icon. So I opened a support ticket and a few days later I was asked to produce a screen-recording to show this. When I tried to do this, it didn't happen any more. "Scanned documents" now also get a thumbnail of the image and get indexed on my device. Maybe it was a server-problem, and it was solved just in the meantime? (By the way: I had a few old notes that I had were this didn't happen. These did not update. I re-created the notes and dragged the images over. They stayed gray and non-indexed. So I modified the pictures slightly (minimal cropping) and put them into new notes. That did the trick and they were then also processed correctly.)
  8. Yes, that would be great. I always name my notes first, and needing one extra click all the time does get a bit annoying. (Especially if the phone app loads a bit slow: I often click into the title field, and the curser "jumps" back into the note-field just when I want to start typing my note-title.)
  9. Every time I try to place the small 1x1 widget on my phone screen, the screen "crashes" and the phone usually switches back to the last app that was open before I tried to add the widget. (The bigger widget works.) I have this problem since the widgets were put back into the android-version. I reported it via the app, but I still encounter this problem with the current version. I think I haven't seen this problem mentioned here in the forum. Does anybody else encounter this problem with the small widget? (I would be glad to see this fixed, because I would like to have just a little "new note" button. The bigger widget doesn't really fit into my screen layout and I don't need that many shortcuts.)
  10. Do other apps actually work? Are you actually using another authenticator app than the Google app? (I don't have one installed at the moment, so I didn't try it myself.) I have two-factor-authentication activated via SMS, because I don't use the Google app. I just looked into my settings this moment and could only choose between SMS and Google. There was a link to the google-app in the app-store and no reference what-so-ever to any other app. It wouldn't cross my mind to scan the QR-code I am supposed to scan with the google app with another app just to see what happens. So if this does work, yeah, this should probably be changed.
  11. I just noticed the same problem: the tags-list shows the correct number of notes in brackets, but if I filter by tags it only shows a few or even zero notes with that tag. I logged out, and also re-installed the app. At first things seemed to be back to normal but now I have the same problem again. I'm not sure if the problem was gone and came back, or if I only tried 2good" tags by accident after re-installation.
  12. I just wanted to post a separate bug report, but I think it is linked to your topic/discovery. I also have a couple notes that were created with the "scan a document"-funktion. They all show the same, generic icon. But more important (to me): The "documents" were not OCRed, at least the text in the images isn't showing when I search words from these documents. I noticed this today, when I was looking for one of the documents. Then I tried three "document-scans" (all showing printed text in a good quality): I couldn't search for any of them with search terms inside the foto. I was wondering where that came from, but texts photographed as "foto" are searchable.
  13. Looks like something is off with the automated update of your version. My current windows version is: v10.8.4 Editor: V 118.1.15148 Service: V 1.28.1 I would suggest you re-install Evernote 10, if your version is still at 10.2.
  14. I would not want to get rid of the free canvas as the baseline - I would just prefer it if I could choose a paper size and see the sketch reduced to that format. But as I said above: that would only make sense combined with an overall strategy for excellent note-printing. And I admit that this may be an overall bad focus for a html-based note app. Probably better to drop a word/publisher/whatever-file into the note whenever you need dedicated options for printing / paper size.
  15. A detail that I found out pretty much by accident: At least on a touchscreen you can move around the canvas, if you use a two-finger-gesture. With two fingers you can zoom in/out AND also move around on the canvas, if you place both next to each other. (I just checked: this sitll isn't mentioned in the help-article about the sketch-feature that I linked in my post above. And the paper color selector mentioned there still doesn't exist in the actual sketch-feature.)
  16. Do you people have opinions on Boxcryptor as an alternative? To encrypt the files that can then be stored in OneDrive / Dropbox / Google Drive/ etc.? https://www.boxcryptor.com/en/ (It is supposed to de-/encrypt files locally in a way that only the encrypted version is uploaded to the cloud.)
  17. I deleted a few notebooks. Evernote always asked "Do you really want to delete this notebook?" My suggestion: This pop-up should show the name of the notebook which is going to be deleted, so I can recognize if I klicked the one above or below the correct one by accident.
  18. ^ Yes. It shows Evernote 10.0 and behind that the (1107959)
  19. This is currently the case with the new android-app. Widgets are supposed to be added back in later. Here is a quote from the release information: Source:
  20. If you delete a tag on the new desktop-version, the "are you sure..."-security question contains the actual tag that you are going to delete. The android-version only asks something like "are you sure you want to delete this tag", but doesn't tell you which tag you are actually deleting. I would prefer the same behavior that the new windows-client has. Before I delete a tag I would like to confirm that I didn't open the menu via a neighboring, heavily used tag by accident.
  21. @PastorPaulReynoldsI'm sorry. I have no idea and too little time to start tinkering with something like that at the moment.
  22. I always begin any new note with a title. I would like to have a setting in the preferences to set the curser in any new note in the title-field and not the main note area. (The same is true on windows and on web, by the way.)
  23. Ah, I'm sorry. I posted right after getting up, apparently I wasn't fully awake - didn't see the "detail" with the modified Android-version your smartphone uses. As for older versions: I'm just saying that the description in the app-store makes another claim - of course I have no idea if that is correct or an mistake.
  24. I remembered this statement: Source: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055388913 Seems like it may take a while, and that in should be available on Android 11 as well. In the description of the new app in the store (already got the update, Android 10 though) it also says Android 10 upwards. Morever there is a statement in there that Android 6, 7, 8 & 9 are going to be supported later on: Here is a screenshot of the play store (german version):
