  1. Thanks - I clicked "check for updates" on my mac client didn't trigger an upgrade. I can get my mac client updated now by going to the Apple app store. Now my Mac client is on 10.64.5 and it looks the sync issue between my mac and mobile has gone.
  2. Thought I am on 10.64 hence replying to this thread. Looks like my mac client is not getting the update automatically since Aug 2023.
  3. Hi Got some issues starting from yesterday where the Evernote Mac client got some sync issues with my Android mobile phone client Symptoms - I had attended a full day training yesterday and put my notes and screenshots onto the Mac client - At the end of the day I found I lost the whole afternoon notes and screenshots. - this morning I also used Evernote Mac to make notes and take screenshots while I am having the training day 2. - Having had some testing this morning, I found that my mobile client is not getting the latest notes and screenshots when I put them on Mac client - Even I tried to print the note by my Mac client, I can only see half of the notes on the print preview (can see all content on the note itself on Mac) - (important) on the Mac client I can see the cursor of mobile client. On mobile client I can see that of my Mac client. When I type on my mobile, I can see that appears on my Mac client, but not the vice versa. Wondering if anyone else experienced the same issue please? I have lost my notes for the whole afternoon yesterday of a paid course. For today I am starting to use Google Doc to make notes as a workaround.. I suspect that the new Mac client has some issue. Mac client: 10.60.4-mac-mas-public (20230803182206). Editor: v176.4.0. Service: v1.71.1 Android client: 10.57.2 Thanks Chi Ho
  4. Thanks @Federico Simionato for the comprehensive PIR. Appreciate the visibility on what has happened and more importantly how the change has made progress for a better future of Evernote.
  5. Thanks I know there is an enterprise version ChatGPT and a consumer version of ChatGPT, apparently Evernote is using the enterprise-level API integration which I think could provide better data security and privacy controls. I recalled Federico in one of the previous interview mentioned such difference, but that is not mentioned in the announcement. Will be great if more elaboration on that will be available for example put into the FAQs. I just wonder why the notes sent to AI model for natural language processing are only deleted after 30 days. If that is only for "caching" purpose (for users making similar queries), 24 hours or less might be more than sufficient, given that each query is considered as an independent query. Security is my #1 concern and convenience/functionality is #2 so I'd like to be 100% sure before I press that button (although its very attractive)
  6. Please can anyone clarify that, when the Evernote announcement says none of our data will be used for the AI model training, in layman terms, does it mean that my sensitive data on my notes will not be shown in someone else's Google Bard, ChatGPT, or Bing etc session please? The AI Search feature looks great but I am concerned of the confidentiality of my sensitive data because my Evernote being my second brain is storing more data than I can even remember.
  7. Great update, thank you @Federico Simionato Great to see we focus on the foundations and infrastructure, and start to embrace modern technologies e.g. docker, micro services, API etc. Yes reliability, speed and data security are important aspects for Evernote being our second brain for work and life. It's never an easy mission given the number of users and their number of notes and the scale of the platform. Appreciate the continued focus and the transparency. Looking forward to seeing Evernote being strong again.
  8. Hi @PinkElephant been using Evernote since 2012 and on premium subscription since 2013 and never changed the subscription..
  9. Hi @Federico Simionato and everyone, hope you are well. My Evernote mobile app (Android 10.52.2) does not seem to sync with Evernote server for new notes and updated notes since 10 August 2023, restarted my Samsung phone did not resolve the issue. Evernote web and Evernote MacBook seem fine. Not too sure if my issue is related to this thread as my Evernote mobile app has not been upgraded to 10.53, but FYI. Will raise a ticket separately. Thanks.
  10. Great thanks for the clue @Dave Green! I have managed to run the docker run init-db and sync commands now on my Synology NAS, after (1) putting the --oauth option and (2) putting the port 10500:10500 for the docker run init-db command! sudo docker run --rm -t -v "$PWD":/tmp -p 10500:10500 vzhd1701/evernote-backup:latest init-db --oauth Thanks @agsteele, I did leave a question there on the evernote-backup page on GitHub. Now I am seeing the evernote-backup sync is running! Reading database en_backup.db... Authorizing auth token, evernote backend... Successfully authenticated as %username%! Current login will expire at 2024-07-22 13:38:12. Syncing user notebooks... [####--------------------------------] 616990/5489410 00:37:44
  11. Thanks @PinkElephant and @Dave Green. Just to circle back with some updates after trying it out. I have tried to run evernote-backup on my Synology NAS. I managed to install docker on my NAS but and I run the docker run init-db command sudo docker run --rm -t -v "$PWD":/tmp ghcr.io/vzhd1701/evernote-backup:latest init-db I can see the container is running It prompted me for "Username or Email" and after I entered my Evernote username, however it stuck there without any further response. I also tried to run the docker run sync command sudo docker run --rm -t -v "$PWD":/tmp ghcr.io/vzhd1701/evernote-backup:latest sync It prompted me for the password (without prompting me for the username. Later found that it prompted me for the NAS password) and after I entered my Evernote password, it said "Sorry, try again." Previously I can run the init-db and sync command using pip on my macbook pro and the same Evernote username and password without any issues. Now I am exploring the Synology NAS Note Station as a backup tool.
  12. Hi everyone, I came across this excellent post and thank you for your input. I am trying to use evernote-backup to backup my Evernote database onto my macbook pro. The evernote-backup looks to be a handy tool and I run the evernote-backup sync command overnight but the job got stopped because my macbook pro is running out of local storage space (I can see that the en-backup.db is roughly 63GB after sync-ing 21000 notes). Altogether I have 32558 notes and some of them got large PDFs or lots of images. Just wondering if the evernote-backup database path can be changed e.g. to my local NAS or to my Google Drive etc? And is there any way that I can check how large is my evernote database altogether? Thanks
  13. I got the exactly same search problem with version 8.9. Tried to reinstall and didn't solve the problem. I have to install 8.8.1 as suggested by others in this thread and thankfully the problem has gone. Searching feature of Evernote is one of fundamentals to me why I love using Evernote. I am a premium paid user and an ECL and really got bit of disappointed this time.
