Not quite what I want though. The Notion Gallery View allows me to see all the thumbnails for each note in a notebook in an easily viewable/scrollable format. I can view 20 thumbnails on a page at a time. I know the notes column is also scrollable - but it's a lot slower to use it. And while I'm here - will we ever be able to choose the image used for a note thumbnail (when the note has more than one image - and I do know about the clunky workaround 🙂 ) ?

I use Notion for one purpose only - Gallery View. I think this used to be available in Evernote a while ago, but not now. I manually mirror a specific Evernote notebook in Notion. For one set of photos, it's the most useful view for me to find an image (and associated text) quickly.

I had tried that originally with no success. However, some combination of time and "messing around" with various things seems to have resolved it - all notes are now visible. One thing that may have helped was updating the Android app, clearing cache and viewing the problem notes. Some notes only became viewable on the desktop app when I had already viewed them on Android. However, this may have been a coincidence.

Jumped the gun here - still a problem. I checked the problem notes in the Android app this morning, and they were all OK (the reason appears to be that this was on an old tablet, which can only run Evernote 8.13.3). On my phone using version 10.53.1, they remain blank. I then tried the desktop app & the browser version, and they are still blank.

Left it overnight, and the blank notes (from web clips) have now reappeared. Tested clipping again this morning and all appears to be OK.

Logged a call anyway, but glad to hear it was temporary. However, everything else appeared to be working until viewing the notes. My original + test notes are still blank.

Tried it again just now, and successfully clipped a new note - as you report. My original note + subsequent test notes are still blank. So, will have to put it down to some sort of syncing glitch. What I don't understand is why the shared link worked, while the note in the app stayed blank. I will wait and see if the blank notes appear correctly and report it, if not.

Didn't notice the "Saving", but same here. The manually created screenshot (using Screenshot Captor) displays correctly and doesn't show the "Saving" text. Going to contact support now.

Wonder if anyone else is having this problem with the web clipper. Tried to do a web clip today - full screen, it appeared to work, but the note is completely blank (not even a "cannot render image" error). Two other things : (1) The note snippet shows a preview of the image (2) If I generate a shareable link for the note, the link displays the note correctly ! However, the desktop, browser and Android versions of the note are all blank. Windows 10. Evernote 10.60.4. Web Clipper 7.33.1.558-6df0260 I can create a note and paste in an image from the same web page (using a 3rd party web clipper) which does work. I have tried restarting Evernote, rebuilding the local copy of the notes, and rebooting with no success. Any other suggestions before I contact support ?

Is there any way to download an installer file for 10.58 or an older version - I've been mainly using the built-in update process, so rarely have old installer files ? Also - another related problem is that the first time I click on a tag - all notes are returned.

For yet another variation - I have a two-screen setup using Win 10. It appears on my second screen, bottom right corner.

My experience is slightly different, in that the problems I reported took months to fix. I now keep an old version installed, but disabled, in Chrome in case a new update breaks something.

Finally fixed in Web Clipper Version 7.28.0

One thing I forgot to mention - if you update the old note e.g. by editing and adding a word to the note, then this seems to rebuild the indexes, and the note will now be found. If there was some other way to rebuild the indexes for old notes, then this would be a solution - however I don't know of any bulk method to do this.

It seems to be an index-related issue to me because : a specific old note note, created (and OCR'd) under legacy is only found in the old system. An identical note (i.e. I copied the contents) created in the new version is found in the new and legacy versions (including the new web version). This issue only applies to some notes and the "missing" note can be found by using different search terms. So it looks to me as if the OCR'd index data in old notes was not always migrated correctly.

Just to add to this, I logged a Ticket with Evernote on a similar issue back in February 2021. At that time, they said they could reproduce it, but couldn't give me a date for resolution. I tried it again just now in legacy and current versions, and it still appears to be happening I.E. finding more notes in a legacy search than on the current version. My analysis of the problem (though not confirmed by Evernote) was that for OCR'd notes some indexing was not migrated fully/correctly to the new version. I prepared a test set of notes with a mixture of scanned (i.e. OCR'd) and text occurrences of the phrase. The legacy version search returns 15 notes, the new version 14 notes. To further analyse the situation, I created a new note, in the new version - with exactly the same contents as the missing (search result) note. The newly created note can be found in the new (and legacy) versions. This confirms for me that it is an index migration issue for OCR'd notes.

To do the "Load Unpacked" part you need to toggle on "Developer Mode" in the top RHS of the Manage Extensions screen. I have exchanged a few emails on this problem with support and they are working on the issue.

Have confirmed this is a problem with the Web Clipper v7.26.0 (updated 25th August). Reverting to 7.25.0 fixes the issue. Have informed support.

True - there are often a few ways to copy an image. However, I prefer the "Clip Image" option for some things as it saves a "clean" copy of the image without any selections or fuss. I use "Screenshot Captor" as my alternative method. Bug report is in progress - at least one other person has mentioned this problem on the Chrome extensions "Support" tab. The clipper was updated on August 25th, so I guess it happened then.

I've reported this as a possible bug - but wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem ? I'm finding that images I clip from websites using right-click/Clip image to Evernote are not rendering in the note. I just get a filename or string of characters. Screenshots or full page clips work as normal. I've done the usual stuff : removed/re-installed the Web Clipper & Evernote. Cleared the database. Rebooted etc.

I knew it had been broken (for ages !) hence I was optimistic it might have been fixed in 10.40 (desktop) based on the post from @gazumped. Unfortunately, still seems broken for me.

The "Magic Wand" doesn't appear if all I have is an image on its own (saved via Evernote Web Clipper - save image to Evernote) - there's only an "Edit & Annotate" option. Where the "Magic Wand" does appear i.e. mixed text and images it does convert the content, but I still can't copy/paste the image. Is there something different in your desktop version - as it does seem to work for me in the web version (which I never normally use) ?

I've confirmed it works in v10.40.9 on the Web version (using Copy Image, Paste Image), however, there's no "Copy Image" Right-Click option for 10.40.9 desktop version and the normal Copy still doesn't work. Any way around this ?
