It's ugly, as you see the link location versus being able to modify the text of your choice (e.g. the word 'link') to be your link, but it works.

We've definitely looked into allowing you to link text in a title and it's something we want to do along with overall text formatting in titles. Some changes we are working on now might allow for this in the future, so we may revisit tackling this.

  2. @Brooksking70, as @agsteele noted, this has been discussed before. Our team talked about it as we were developing recurring tasks and we had opinions both ways on whether to reset immediately or at the end of the day (i.e. midnight). I think users would likely have differing opinions as well. Nonetheless, I will pass this on to our Product Manager to consider whether there is more we can do, such as offering a setting to choose. But the delayed reset may have technical complications based on the current implementation.

  3. @Roger F Just to be clear, if you open the "My Tasks" tab and change the sorting there, it will be reflected in the widget as well. If that wasn't clear, do you think it would be helpful to include the same sorting options in the widget as well? Or are you wanting additional sorting options in the widget that are not currently available in "My Tasks", such as by note?

  4. Again, I caveat this with not being an expert on search...

But basically, your local v10 client runs a lighter version of the server-based indexing service. It won't do any resource-intensive indexing like attachment processing (i.e. OCR), but it does do its own indexing and not just getting a copy from the server (though I believe this happens as well).

So as I noted, something like backlinks indexing can be implemented locally.

  5. @Paul A. a local indexing service already exists in more recent versions of v10, so you won't generically see a performance improvement for all searches. Specifically for backlinks, potentially (would need to check with devs on that). I'm not intimately familiar with the local search implementation myself, so sorry if I'm somewhat vague.

The little pop out window to view my tasks is nice, but would really like to be able to view my tasks in a full window.

The tasks team is going to be visiting this soon. We're thinking of how to improve the Tasks view and we understand that the smaller window pane is not ideal.

Data is LOST when you open an account, no matter the data host, and that data isn't where it is supposed to be.

I think this makes sense to you as a user, but is not so clear to Evernote. Our older design where a personal account was tied to a business account with the drop-down to easily switch between the two led to users not having a clear delineation between the two accounts. Many users had cases where business data was in the personal account or potentially vice-versa.

When we decided to change the business accounts to have a clear separation, we needed to take a best guess at where data would belong (personal or business account) when they were separated.

If we tried to take guesses at which data on the personal side belonged on the business side, that could be disastrous. The data would now belong to the business and if a user was removed from the business, they would lose access to that data. So the safest thing to do was to leave any data that lived in the personal account there, and provide users with a tool to migrate data from a personal account to a business account. That way the user could decide which data belonged in the business account. Any solution that tried to be smarter had potential for getting it wrong and legally we did not feel comfortable trying to make those decisions in an automated way. FWIW, we had a LOT of discussions about that. We considered having a whole tool during the account split process where a user could choose which notes/notebooks to move, but it made the split process even more complicated than it already is and we wanted to try to make the process seamless.

I hope this helps explain things. If you are really having issues with perceived data loss, please reach out to me privately and I can try to assist with locating those items.

Weird though that a link works in new but not old.  Thanks.

So we explicitly changed from evernote:// links to en:// because legacy registered the former URL prefix. In order to make sure links opened in newer clients, we had them (10.x) register to use en://. So links in emails should all now use the en:// URL format causing them to be opened in 10.X and not legacy.

This may be the cause of the behavior you are seeing. Though I haven't explicitly checked the reminder emails code to confirm.

  9. @CalS Are you able to send me a sample link from your reminders email? I want to validate if it is of the format

    evernote://

    or

    en://

Or perhaps it is getting wrapped by our email sending engine (links.comms.evernote.com). If that's the case, please see if you can click through and get the URL it redirects to after being processed by the link wrapping endpoint.

Also, are you on the latest Evernote app version? I believe it should be 10.18.x

So are you saying that you get prompted by iOS to always open links in the Evernote app, but that isn't persisting? If that's the case, are you opening those links from within a specific mail app, such as the GMail app? If you are and it's opening a web page within that app, you might try launching that app into Safari first and then telling it to always open. I saw a case (albeit in Android) where it didn't persist when I said to always open from within the GMail app, but worked when I forced the URL to open in the base Chrome app and selected always open.

I'll see if I can reproduce this locally or otherwise get a member of the team that worked on the fix to take a look.
