I'm also experiencing this when I log in to Evernote for Web using a basic Evernote account. note: there is a workaround - You CAN get it to start creating notes in a particular notebook without asking every time, but you have to make sure to select the notebook from the notebook list before you click New Note!

  4. Hi! Evernote recently discovered a bug with the PDF thumbnail generating processes. We have temporarily disabled PDF thumbnails while we implement the fix, but unfortunately I don't have an ETA for when that will be.
  5. Thank you for the reports and logs, and thank you also to those who contacted support with additional information! I'm pleased to say we have been able to pin down this bug and a fix is coming.
  6. I moved this to the bug report forum as its about a bug, also wanted to mention that we know about it and can reproduce it, and developers are working on a fix.
  7. Hi Mike! On Android expected functionality is that tapping directly on the checkbox after you insert it into the note should toggle the checkmark on or off. If this isn't working, it may be a bug we haven't found yet, in which case it would be helpful if you contacted support with details about which device you are using, which will help is track down whats causing the issue. Hope that it gets resolved soon!
  8. I just wanted to post to say that our developers have been made aware of this issue. Although I can't provide an ETA for a fix, we are listening!
  9. We do read the forums, but we usually aren't the ones with direct control or knowledge of when/how bugs will be fixed. Mostly, we try and take what users on the forum are saying and get it seen by people in the company who can affect change, help when we can, and bridge gaps between the forums and our customer support teams. We usually have nothing to offer other than "We hear you, we're working on it" and often even that message doesn't get out (something we are trying to change). Evernote employees posting here are largely volunteering their own limited time to try and help out, they aren't controlling the direction of the company, or tech wizards who can shoot down any bug the second it appears on their radar, but they are listening, and they're here because they care about Evernote users, not because someone told them to be. Also FYI the Evernote employee in this thread was responding to a user who was posting about an entirely different bug, so the situation isn't quite as you described... Although I'm not sure if it makes us look better or worse that this thread about a fixed bug thread got derailed by a post about a different bug ?

  11. I've been notified by the android team that they will be adding the option to disable autoformatting on android, unfortunately I don't know exactly when. For reference, the autoformatting article contains information on what autoformatting is supported on each platform and how to disable it (where possible).

This has will be fixed in an upcoming release, in the meantime if you wish you can use the steps below to revert to a previous version that doesn't have this bug: After Evernote crashes, open it again (this time Evernote should open normally) Make sure all of your recently changed or added notes are synced with Evernote web under www.evernote.com Go to File > Exit Select the Windows Start icon> Settings (gear icon)> Apps Select Evernote and click Uninstall Go to the following link to download and install Evernote 6.13.14: http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.13.14.7474.exe

  14. As DTLow mentioned, your notes are stored on Evernote's servers, so as long as your latest changes have synced you won't lose anything by reinstalling. If that doesn't fix your issue, I'd recommend using Evernote Web to copy and paste the content from the problem note into a new note, then see if the new note still causes problems with the app.

Feel free to post suggestions and possible FAQ questions in this thread and I will take them into consideration when drafting it. to kick things off here a few things to try: 1. disable context: Select Tools > Options > Note Scroll down and select Show Advanced Options Uncheck Show Context 2. rebuild the database: To rebuild your Evernote for Windows database, follow these steps: If you don't have any unsynchronized notes, and you do not have Local notebooks, please skip to "Move your existing Evernote database." If you do have unsynchronized notes or local notebooks, follow these steps to export that content: Select all unsynced notes, or each local notebook, then right-click and select Export Notes… Choose 'Export as a file in ENEX format (.enex)', then click Export Detailed instructions here Move your existing Evernote database: Open Evernote for Windows Select File > Sign out… from the menu bar Select Evernote > Options > General > Open Database folder Move the [username].exb file to your desktop You can now open Evernote and log in to your Evernote account, at which point Evernote will download all of your synced notes from the servers and create a new database on your computer. You can then import any exported notes by selecting File > Import from the menu bar and choosing the .enex file you exported earlier. if searching your notes is slow: Recreate the Full Text Search Index: Press and hold Ctrl and click on Help at the top of the screen. Select Recreate Full Text Search Index > Reindex To recreate Type Ahead Search Index, please take the steps above, but select Type Ahead Search Index instead. This process should start automatically.   16. In Evernote for Mac, hold down the option key and click Help > Troubleshooting > Recreate Full Text Search Index. Try the search after recreating the index and see if it recognizes the text from your Android scans.
  17. Try pressing CTRL+Z (windows) or COMMAND+Z (mac) this should undo the autoformatting without deleting the number.
  18. Although we don't recommend using (or officially support) older versions, I can confirm that this particular security issue was not present in 4.6 which is why you are not being forced to update.

  21. Yes, Evernote Web doesn't count as a "device" towards the 2-device limit, so you will always have access to it and your notes will always be synchronized on the web. See our Devices FAQ for full details.
  22. Try clicking the three dots (...) in the upper right ("settings and more" when you hover) then click Extensions and see if you have the toggle to turn the clipper on
