OK....repeating the steps again seems to have correctly rebuilt my database. Not sure what happened there, but the latest problem "seems to have resolved itself." I think I am good now.

Hmmm...all my data for the past 5 years is now gone. The database rebuilt itself, but it is woefully out of date. This is a complete disaster!!!!!!

My bad. I didn't remove the database. I had assumed it was in the app directory. When I deleted everything of the form ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.*, Evernote started to work again. Thanks so much!

The problem is that I have already done those steps and it still won't work. What is step 4, etc.?

Recently did some software updates on my Mac, and Evernote no longer opens up. I have the latest versions of everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote. Any ideas how to fix this? The few forum topics I saw the problems just resolved itself.
