Message to the Evernote team: congratulations guys, you quickly took over the problem and were transparent about the incident. Problems happen, and what differentiates serious companies from amateurs is how they deal with them. I still love Evernote and I don't know what my life would be without it. 😘

OneNote is another alternative... But I got some very annoying sync issues in the past... I heard that MS has been rewrote the entire Sync Engine in the latest version. I guess maybe it's the time to take a look into it again.

Notion is a good alternative. And there is some Python programs that export your Notes entirely.... I do it from time to time to avoid to lost my notes in any case. Who knows?

I just a quick test: created a note with TEST in desktop. Till now, it not visible in web or Android client, that means, the sync is really not going any further. And, maybe, If we close the client that note was created, we can loose everything... It's scare me!

I'm from Brazil. Noticed this issue some days ago, and waited and prayed to be just a temporally issue... But it's appears not the case.

I guess, the problem is back again. In English, it's means: Syncing temporarily paused.

For people living in US or in UK, I agree with you. But, for the rest of US, this is a huge price increase. To make you better understand, It's kind of almost 950 "moneys" (dollars?) for people living in Brazil, in example. It's a HUGE increase. I can't afford an increase like this. I Love Evernote, I agree with the current fee that I've been charged, but, everything has a limit, and I hope they understand the country and the economic reality of each region and their people.

It's seams Import folders is not available to Windows users (like me).

My fear is the price continues the same, but, from night to day they decided to change the plans again, even to old customers. So, this is the reason to still looking into Notion as alternative. Today, they offer a way more cool features, but I don't know if they are stable and rock solid like Evernote. Well, at least, I have the "word" from Mr. Shane that the prices will not increase for existing users.

Here in Brazil, it will cost R$ 250,00 the personal plan, charged yearly. The previous value was R$ 80,00. It's more than 200% of price increase. I will contact support staff to know more. I don't need tasks, and anything else that they offering. Just notes.

Sincerely? It's time to say goodbye to Evernote. They took away a lot of useful features, with the speech that "we need to take a step back to get the momentum to move faster", but all the more interesting features I need haven't come back yet and we don't even know when they will be implemented, even later 1 year of implementing the most buggy version of Evernote in its history. And now, they are launching new plans, costing exaggeratedly more expensive than ever, with fewer features and a buggy version? Good luck to those who stay, now I'm definitely moving to Notion, which has a lot of features that don't exist in Evernote. For encrypted notes, I will migrate to some password manager like Lastpass or Roboform. Keep suffering and paying more doesn't appears to me a intelligent choice. MarcSant.

Just don't forget that Legacy version is 32bit only (at least for Windows), and for some huge notes, all users that need to use this version will be impacted. To not harm the users they should provide the 64 Version of it, at least.

This forces them to remove features that are highly dependent on the operating system, such as sending a note via email, changing the font to a list larger than just 5, among other things. What they did was: "we will implement a multi-platform version, release it with what we could provide for both ecosystems, and over time we will implement back what we removed." From a business point of view, it makes sense because you save money and focus in one direction only, with shorter development cycles. But the problem is that they haven't thought about users at all: they've launched the new product and damn what the user thinks. They could have minimized all this stress by sending an email to all users talking about the new version, and in this email putting the link to the Legacy version in case the user didn't feel comfortable with the changes. I live here in Brazil, I have always praised and spoken well of American Technology companies, how serious they are, competent and how they produce excellent systems and products that help our lives, but this time, sincerely gave me shame about what they did. It was very, very amateurish. I would expect this kind of posture from a backyard company, a beginner, which has a bunch of teenage nerds starting now, but, honestly, the role is inverted: The teenage nerds are producing each time more great products, creating applications that are innovating and changing the life of many people, and contrary to what I said, they don't take these decisions that irritate so many people in such a short time. I think the company's board needs to look to this, it needs to look to what is happening, it is not just a bunch of angry people with a new function or new resource but essential functions that makes the product viable for the users. Evernote as a company can't just believe that because we depend on them we won't migrate to another platform, we can and will do it! 15 years ago there wasn't alternative, today we have, and to have alternatives means that your product can't give margin for error. And this last change was a grotesque mistake, which is leading to a huge base of paying users to rethink Evernote as a loyal note companion.

Customer Support Representative" So, for those are not happy with the new 10 version, there only 2 possible options: - Stick with legacy version - Switch to another product.

Yeah, me too. I spoke about Evernote to almost all my work fellows and colleagues and now I was really disappointed. The ticket that I opened in the support was answered today, and the only path that tech support guy instructed my is "Use the Legacy Version". I'm pretty sure that I know which direction the company is aiming at with the product, and for me, it's enough. I'm planning to invest my effort to Notion, and leave Evernote and wishes good luck.

In the End User License agreement, probably have some obscure clause that protects Evernote company from Lawsuits like this. But, we can do more if we make a coordinate social media buzz. Contact CNN? Or another important tech channel? They need to be know that we are all pissed off. At least, I'm in the right moment. How irritating it can be since I'm here in the middle of Sunday thinking about how to migrate my data to another service, instead to playing a video game or playing with my kids?
