  1. I can't seem to find the preferences/settings....  Am I missing something?  I opened evernote today to find that continuous scrolling (via mouse using a desktop computer) wasn't working.  I googled it but couldn't find anything.  Its' fine if it's a few pages of notes but I would like the option to use continuous scrolling instead of having to navigate to the bottom of the page to go to the next page.  I'm using the snippet view and I used to be able to scroll in the note to a certain page/area of the note via mouse wheel.  The same behavior is happening when I open the note as well.  Also, there is no indication of which page you are on or how many pages there are total in a note (if my note is a pdf).   I'm using EN  v10.2.4 and macOS Catalina v 10.15.7.

Edited to add... I found that you can change the view as "all pages"  from "Single Page" in the case of a pdf (most of my notes are pdfs that are scanned in).  But it seems to be on a case-by-case basis.... I want to make it my default setting but I can't find anywhere to change that .  Also, now when I go into "edit & annotate" the pdf I can no longer delete pages or rotate them.  Another thing that I noticed was that the tags have moved to the bottom of the page and it disrupts the flow/efficiency imo.  I go to the top of the page to change the title but now I have to go to the bottom of the page to add tags.

Ugh.... I feel like this update was a really BIG step backwards.  I feel like things that worked ok were not improved upon but they were deleted or removed.... I'm really frustrated! Please don't "fix" something that isn't broken... Please put it back to the way it was.

EN is not a pdf editor. You can annotate a pdf, but not change the original content.

In you case on a Mac it is quite simple: Open the pdf from inside EN with Mac‘s Preview. To do this, right click on the top of the pdf (where it has the File Name and 3 icons) and choose „Open with“, then select Preview. In preview with the pdf Open choose the last position in the side tabs (see picture). In my example 3 pictures are selected (can be a range, can be any selection). Then right mouse click, from the popup menu choose „Export as ...“, pdf and give it a File Name. Then create a new note and move the new pdf there.

To delete the pages from the original pdf, stay in the view with the little pages and select them. Go to the edit menu and choose „Delete“. The pages will be deleted from the pdf. Now (important) go to the File menu and choose „Close window“. This will close the pdf in preview AND save the changes made to EN. As a last step to save the change inside of EN, close the note in EN. This will write the modified pdf to your EN data base, and sync it to the server.

As you see, the very useful Preview program that is installed on your Mac will do the job.

Thanks for the detailed info. I feel like if it has the capability to merge notes it would have the capability to split/unmerge how ever the user pleases. I can select just that page and rotate it within EN, it also has the option to delete the selected page(s). So it can isolate the relevant sheet(s) already.  I was hoping I could just drag and drop that particular sheet to wherever and make a new note but it wasn’t that easy. 🤣  Anyways I thought maybe I was missing something or doing something wrong. But it looks like this capability isn’t available yet.

  3. I also need an unmerge/split function. I scan my receipts using ScanSnap (Fujitsu) with OCR PDF into Evernote. After it is scanned, I change the title on it and add some tags.   I was doing a whole bunch and I made a mistake.... I would like the ability to split/extract this particular page into another note (or a separate note is fine too) all within EN (instead of using  another program like adobe or preview (on Mac)). I’m using a Mac. I know this is an old thread... has this capability been added at all? I couldn’t find it.... I’ve searched high and low on google and on the forums. The ability to scan a whole bunch of receipts into one PDF and being able to separate the pages into separate notes would be so valuable to me.

  4. In an effort to move towards a paperless office, I've been scanning my documents into EN for quite some time.  I haven't scanned anything in a few months and my papers were starting to pile up.  I noticed that when I scanned my documents this time, the pages are out of order in EN after it is processed by the scanner (I place the document(s) in order into the scanner chute). I googled it and looked through this forum and didn't find much help.  I've always scanned them as pdf into EN with OCR with no problems.  I made sure that the file format was still in pdf.  Anybody else experiencing this? It's driving me nuts!  I'm running macOS High Sierra Ver 10.13.1, EN Version 6.13 (455674 App Store) with  ScanSnap Manager Version 3.2 L91 (ScanSnap S1300i).  Thanks in advance for your help!
