  1. Another one: V10 started to create links from certain terms , e.g. words with an .app ending. Whenever I write an app name it creates a link to what it deems appropriate and which I a) don't want it to do and b) makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I have to manually unlink the link every time. How can I make it stop? I don't want it and I didn't set it to do so. Didn't find a setting to switch it off...
  2. Here 'files' will probably only make a core problem obvious, i.e. reveal that note handling has issues no one was aware of before. Same with the 'search for attachment name' that @Dave-in-Decatur mentioned, this would allow to list all 'untitled attachments' 'unknown attachments' and hopefully will not give us a heart attack if we find too many of them...
  3. There was another mention of it in a new thread that I wasn't aware of.
  4. ah, thanks for confirming. So far I only have a blank screen when I hit 'files'. EDIT: ... and V10 processes go through the roof. With 80 GB of data this (indexing?) will probably take a week or two, maybe BS QA should test new features on a large database... EDIT2: moving away from the files section won't calm things down, very high CPU load, fans full throttle, no screen refresh in Evernote, no thumbnails, everything blank and V10 basically frozen. EDIT3: Maybe they should stop releasing these early alpha state features to the wild?
  5. Since I've experienced some 'untitled attachments' recently I hope files - once it works - will let you search for attachment names. Thus I could determine whether the 'untitled attachments' are a real problem or only a handful of notes that are affected. That indeed would be handy.
  6. It should have synced until the cut-off of pre-V10 versions on March 28th or so. Try the browser version of Evernote.com, it will show you what has synced to the server. If you are missing notes there, follow PE's advice (and DO NOT LOG OUT OF YOUR LOCAL CLIENT!). Good luck.
  7. Can't drag'n'drop attachments into a note. The dropped attachment simply disappears, although before the drop either the line indicating where the drop would take place or (in an empty note) the '+' sign appears, thus Evernote is aware of the intended drop. Hate to say but that worked in Legacy without issue. Adding via cut/copy and paste seems to work. Latest Sonoma/ 10.84.3 mac Ticket #3873669
  8. Well, V10 was released in October 2020, so it's not all that new and fresh anymore...
  9. I started to do this with my first V10 client, but in the case of the 'untitled attachments' where should these appear from if even the web version is blank?
  10. In my understanding a new client doesn't necessarily mean altered / dropped features, but obviously your understanding is different.
  11. Lucky you, my attachments seem gone for good. No harm done, I can get them back but this makes me too nervous to trust V10 with anything serious...
  12. How would you know? No, it doesn't and I haven't. I'm almost exclusively on Macs since 2006 and I do know how to use cmd-Z. When the focus isn't exactly in a note and I use cmd-Z, the find dialogue opens. EDIT: e.g. if I click a note thumbnail in the middle column of the desktop and then hit cmd-Z the search dialogue opens (they use find for within a note and search for global searches 'cmd-opt-F': ).
  13. Yes, that's my conclusion also. Unfortunately renaming it does not work, if I commit my name change the dialogue closes but nothing happens.
  14. Yes, I read that too, thought, it was already implemented as a files browser but it wasn't. Let's see... EagleFiler is Mac only, unfortunately, Keep It also has an iPad client. Since both are storing notes as RTF / RTFD in a standard file-/folder structure, the files along with their (finder) tags can be accessed with 3rd party tools and via browser as well, I use Leap.app a lot. This is no alternative to a (working) native Windows or Android client though. But it will do for occasional access.
  15. Ah, darn, I never read past the first line or two 😉 But that note only talks about added features, not dropping important ones and being a different app altogether. Anyway...
  16. No, I tried several V10 downloads since some users proposed to wipe and reload, but the last download was several weeks ago and should have finished. Since the notes are intact in the Legacy ENEX export from before Legacy stopped syncing the attachments should be present at least on the web as well but they are not. So something happened to the attachments after the Legacy export. It probably should but isn't. Web version is identical with local version ('untitled attachment').
  17. Thank you, I'll see what I can do. Problem is a) there was sensitive information some of the files that I found missing and b) I am afraid this is only the tip of the iceberg. ??? Is there a way to search for attachment titles like 'untitled attachment'??? This would help identify affected notes / attachments and see how big the problem actually is. Maybe only a few notes were corrupted, but no way to be sure. The advanced search options don't list this as an argument..
  18. They are completely different, Keep It and Eaglefiler have similar functionality as Legacy, but use the file system for storage (Mac only), notes are stored as RTF / RTFD. This has added benefit, Keep It uses iCloud to sync and Eaglefiler can use any cloud service (including locally hosted). If you need xattr support you can use iCloud, Dropbox or Synology Cloud (on your own NAS) to sync. You can access your files from outside of both, I like Leap.app a lot. Outside changes are reflected in the apps, tags are standard finder tags, giving you a whole bunch of options over Legacy, tag management especially of Keep It is superb. Keep It almost looks like Legacy, both apps actually seem to work, support is superb. For me this is perfect, I just need a reliable notes and attachments storage for documents and files. I already have apps for task management etc. and don't want AI, I have full-text search and tags.
  19. Even the high price of V10 is affordable if it performs well. Legacy over the last decade gave me tremendous value, V10 so far not so much.
  20. I just wanted to highlight that V10 in fact is pitched as an update to V10, not an entirely different app. >>"A new version of Evernote Legacy is available. Update to 10.78.2 to experience the latest improvements."<< The notion that it is only came up recently in the forum when more and more deficiencies of V10 became evident. Regarding Bear.app: beautifully simple app, but also not cross platform and no integration with finder, which made me switch to Keep It. If I didn't need finder integration Bear would have been my choice.
  21. I thought this issue was raised some time ago and on @ferol's list already?
  22. Absolutely. But you can access icloud files from any browser and even from Windows machines if I remember correctly. KeepIt stores everything on the file system and syncs through iCloud. I use finder tags and apps like Leap a lot so being able to access Keep It / former Legacy content from 'outside' is a huge bonus for me.
  23. there is an ipad version for Keep It. Since it uses standard Mac file system and iCloud you can access all notes including tags etc. using 3rd party tools, even on the web (icloud). But of course this is different from having a real cross platform app. How would you know? I had to use V10 on all Sonoma macs but since my main Macbook Pro is from 2015 I stayed with Monterey / Legacy until March. Nothing wrong with Monterey since it is still supported and gets security updates regularly. But since the demise of Legacy in March thanks to OCLP I now run Sonoma without any issues and V10 with many issues on this MBP. Side note: OCLP / Sonoma runs smoothly on older, unsupported macs, in my case a MBP 15" mid 2015 without ANY issue, so highly recommended.
