  1. I'm having this issue too. So I understand - your "Untitled Attachment" eventually loaded/reconciled with the correct attachment? Is there any way to know whether or not a note is syncing, and/or finished syncing? For me the spinny wheel [for pictures] and "Untitled Attachment" issue persists. So frustrating.
  2. Oh, and my internet connection is fine. 267 Mbps Download, 387.6 Mbps Upload.
  3. Regarding iOS... My experience with the iOS app [on iPhone 11, v17.2.1] is terrible as well. It seems a fully re-sync is necessary before it's even usable and this takes ridiculously long, 5 to 10 minutes probably. On the rare instance I use the iOS app [because it's so painful] it's because I need to access something quickly - and this hasn't been possible for as long as I can remember (since the "New" Evernote). Case in point - I just did a manual Sync... took 9 minutes, 29 sec. It's the case every day, sometimes multiple times a day - when I'm patient or desperate enough to attempt using it. If I attempt for example to search for a tag [before a complete Sync has finished] I either get a blank screen or a list of empty tags (tag symbol with white bar (no text)) as if it's found tags that fit the search, but it can't display the text or allow me to select one until a full Sync has completed. For what it's worth the Background App Refresh setting is ON, and I've tried completely deleting the app and data, reinstalling, and re-syncing. Regarding the Windows installed client and web client, @PinkElephant, like I explained above, I've done all you've suggested to no avail. Could it be the amount of data? ~7,000 notes (empty trash bin), ? tags (thousands, maybe 10's of thousands... don't now how to get a count).
  4. Any suggestions for super-slow/sluggishness for Windows users - both with the Windows app and the web client? Both are horribly slow. Regarding the app I've tried quitting En; I've trying full uninstall [using Revo Uninstaller] and reinstall. Regarding web app, I occasionally clear all browsing data. These measures may improve performance briefly, but it quickly boggs down again. Speculating, but I'm an avid tag user... not sure anymore how to get a tag count, but it's certainly in the thousands, maybe tens of thousands by now. I also use a lot of internal links. The new (since v10) Evernote since it's release does not seem engineered to cater to users of either. Any help or direction to other helpful threads would be greatly appreciated! Evernote is a integral part of my daily workflow and this performance problem costs me many hours of lost productivity every week. Very frustrated...
  5. Has anyone expereienced formatted Headers reverting to the default font(s)? I've been using Headers sinced they came out, but changed the font/style to my liking. In the last few days (2023 late March/early April) the Headers of some (not all) notes have reverted to the default font. FYI - I use the web app with Windows almost exclusively for creating/editing.
  6. For months I've been having Synchronization issues with certain notes created or modified using the Windows client - which is where 99% of my work is done. At some point these notes simply no longer synch to the cloud. The best I can tell, it's associated with file attachments... could be pictures, pdfs, Excel spreadsheets, or other. I don't think it's always the case, but often after attaching or modifying an attached file (open > modify > save) the note ceases to synch. The note in any other client (i.e. the cloud) remains outdated from that point forward; no changes made to the note on the Windows client (simple text or otherwise) gets synched to the cloud. I first noticed the problem with Evernote version 10.34.4, but it could have been earlier. The same issue has persisted with each update; I'm now on version 10.38.1. I've tried rebuilding the database (Revo Uninstall, deleting %AppData%\Evernote) - which is causes days of lost work [that I know of], because it's rebuilt from the cloud with outdated versions of these notes. I've tried to mitigate this by manually reconciling which notes are synched and which are not by comparing note info locally on the Windows client with those on the web or iOS. This is tedious, time consuming, and doesn't solve the problem of getting the latest versions into the cloud. Importing the notes (which appears to only be an option on the Windows client) does not result in the notes making it to the cloud. I'm frustrated to say the least. I can no longer rely on the integrity of my notes, nor do I have the luxury of seeing my notes in the field (on iOS that were created or updated on Windows client). Ideally I need a fix. Short of a fix I need a better way to reconcile what's synched and what's not - and then a way to get that data into the cloud. I've had an open ticket with Evernote support for months - have gone round and round and gotten nowhere. They're now not responding at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 7. Same here. With the latest update (Windows app v10.37.3) you can no longer type into any of the filter fields; instead you must scroll and find the desired item in a list. This is a huge inconvenience and time suck. Also (related) - I recall in a previous version (may have been iOS), as the search is refined by adding filters, for example tags, the list of available items would shrink to display only those items (e.g. tags) for which notes exist that contain them. This was great, and a huge time saver, as you could start with one or two known tags for example and very quickly refine the search visually as the list of available remaining tags reduced significantly with each new filter added. Wonderful feature that's been absent for some time... pray Evernote resurrects this!
  8. I fear your right about this, "...limited room for improvement on this setup... take it or leave it." User interactions with the software used to be (Legacy version) virtually instantaneous. Whatever fundamentally different architecture responsible for this degradation of performance and responsiveness should be immediately reevaluated. If this can't be reconciled, I think Evernote's days are numbered.
  9. Thanks Evernote for kind of fixing this. Two clicks are no longer required! However, hovering over links still produces the annoying fly-out with the address of the embedded link I couldn't care less to see - which I occasionally accidently click on. I'd still like to see these handled differently. Preferable behavior might be... Right-click > Edit or select and Ctrl-K (as in Legacy version) is a far more useful (and not annoying) way of accessing the link address to view or change on the rare occasion one might need to. Make this a configurable Preferences setting. Increase the time required while hovering over a link before the flyout appears.
  10. I just updated to version 10.10.5, read about the new drag and drop a note to a note to create an internal link (not really new - rather a restored feature... Legacy version does this). Well, it creates the dreaded internal web link instead of an internal app link. The result is that the linked note opens in a web browser [on a PC] instead of in the [Windows] app. I'm wondering - did someone at Evernote actually test this with the [Windows] app and think, "Wow, that's great; it opened the note in a web browser - exactly what the user will want!" I'm baffled by the need for the internal web link at all. The internal app link works on all clients including the browser interface (though the New (v10) Evernote iOS app is only able to create the internal Web Link now), so what's the benefit of the internal web link? Please, fix the mobile apps so they create an internal app link, and get rid of the internal web link option all-together! The Legacy app [v6.25] does it right; dragging and dropping creates an internal [app] link, and there is no option nor need for an internal web link - which from my perspective is nothing more than an annoyance, and productivity killer!
  11. Internal links created by the iOS app are shared web links (https://www.evernote.com/shard/...) vs. app links (evernote:///view/...) as was the case before version 10. I don't know who if anyone - other than the user the link might be "shared" with / workable for. Might there be a security issue here with the "shared" link? Presently, it seems the iOS app has no workaround "Copy App Link" option as the latest [Windows] desktop app does. My immediate issue is that when the link is clicked in the [Windows] desktop app, instead of opening in the app, the note opens in a web browser. To fix this, the link has to be recreated from the desktop app. I create and edit notes as much in the iOS app as I do in the desktop app, so this is very inconvenient and frustrating. Hoping Evernote addresses this one soon!
  12. Yeah, that's one thing I've been doing as a workaround. More steps to the workflow than should be necessary though - it adds up. This isn't a deal breaker, just another of many frustrations with v10. I'd call this a bug, or at least a miss, vs "one of a handful of features we [Evernote] are still considering," as seems to be the form-letter response from Evernote now. Just trying to do my part in making these discoveries known so others can chime in and Evernote can (hopefully) reconcile.
  13. Images fail to render properly when copied/pasted from some applications, e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word..., even from this Evernote Forum! What's displayed instead is a spinning blue wheel (e.g. when copied from MS apps) or an "Untitled Attachment" (e.g. when copied from this forum) directly to an Evernote note. However, first saving a picture then copying/pasting or dragging and dropping from file explorer to a note works as expected. I often need only save a key portion of an email or document, and copying/pasting to a note has been a convenient/trusted function for years - until upgrading to the "New Evernote" [v10]. I'm seeing progress with other issues resolved and previous functions restored. I'd love for this to be restored as well.
  14. Mike P, you say, "Lots of us complained about it...;" is there another thread open about this that users can follow, comment on, upvote? I don't see how these link flyouts are remotely useful; for some it may be a trivial annoyance, but I use internal links for wiki-like navigation within Evernote - it's killing me!
  15. The previously invaluable productivity boosting power of links (internal and external) has now become an annoying speedbump with the "New" Evernote (Windows v10.2.4). Clicking on or adjacent to a link now produces an annoying fly-out displaying the address of the embedded link I couldn't care less to see. I must then click (again) on the flyout link to navigate to the destination. Right-click > Edit or select and Ctrl-K (as in Legacy version) is a far more useful (and not annoying) way of accessing the link address to view or change on the rare occasion one might need to. Perhaps for someone this is desirable, but I can't imagine for whom or for what purpose. This is simply a frustrating, demotivating, productivity killer! This completely disrupts my workflow. I'm hoping this is not by design, but simply an oversight or bug and can be promptly fixed.
  16. I've also been having issues with internal links not working since the most recent update 6.21.2.8716 (308716). One example is this (see attached video): An internal link works if the note is open, doesn't work on the same note in the preview window. I've had links not work in open notes as well. bandicam 2019-10-04 11-06-38-740.mp4
  17. Just one major hurdle to this approach is the inability to browse / filter "child" tags with the mobile (iPhone) app (version 8.14). From the "All Notes" screen, the tag icon can be touched to bring up the "Filter" screen. From there a "parent" tag filter can be applied and tagged notes viewed, but I don't see the ability to select a "child" tag at all! The inability to use the hierarchical structure allowed with tags from the mobile app makes this a non-starter for me. Please let me know if I'm missing something here.
