  1. There is a possibility, that you're using the newest version of the app, but you work with some documents created with much older version. Therefore content of those notes may still be in an old format. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/convert-a-notebook-to-a-different-format-52e2f763-e138-4f6b-8de2-48362b6fe76a If not, I have no other idea. For me OneNotes work fine in desktop/mobile apps and in browsers.
  2. I use desktop OneNote (full version, MS-Office 365 subscription) I can also edit my OneNote notes using browser (Edge or Firefox). They synchronize with desktop app in no time. Zero issues. Are your notes in the current (OneNote 2016) format or maybe in the previous/older one?
  3. It's an old joke... https://www.wired.com/story/its-not-a-bug-its-a-feature/ About image issue: Agreed @ArjenC, me too. My premium subscription expires in March, but it's hard to say good bye after many years here...
  4. This in not a bug, this is a feature... 😉 V10 handles pasting of external images pretty buggy. Such issue was mentioned many times on this Forum. I have also reported support ticked about this few month ago. EvN team explained that this is "by design". Face it guys. V10 is just a low quality, poorly designed software. Take it or leave it. (I chosen the second option recently ;-))
  5. There is no one perfect solution 😉 This time I chose to diversify. I put part of my notes into Apple-Notes, most of them into OneNote*, and PDF/files into Google-Drive (priv) and One-Drive* (biz) Export from EvN 6.25 and then import into Apple or OneNote is pretty good. No major complains. My approach was: one EvN notebook (or small stack) at the time. [*] I use full/desktop version of OneNote, I have MSOffice subscription.
  6. Yep. He's right. EvN is no more a premium brand, they are now in mass production business. Providing only fast/junk food kind of services. This will not change any time soon. Moreover, v10 is slow, clunky, and unreliable garbage. February is for me my last month as an active/premium user. Bye 😉 By the way - migration to the other tool wasn't that scary. I re-discovered a lot of notes which I forgot. I find a few new ways to manage my notes/knowledge. It's good to change.
  7. Unfortunately, this may be a false hope. If you extrapolate what happened during last year, future of EvN doesn't look bright. It's seems that the current team, especially CEO will be unable to deliver something better than this crappy "fast/junk food" version anytime soon. Therefore this month is my last month as an active/premium EvN user. it's time to say good bye after almost ten years.
  8. And what makes you so sure, that your way of thinking is correct? Are you a senior Delivery Manager with insider info? Or complexity scientist? Or mayby just someone with over-inflated ego? 😉 Maybe other see, that EvN doesn't deliver trust. EvN team is unable to communicate things properly, unable to assure safety of data. Maybe people just instinctively feel that Evn turned into immature dilettante company. Moreover, a company which may collapse/disappear soon... Or they main device is iOS based and there is no legacy...
  9. I clip web articles which I want to read later to InstaPaper - it also automatically send them to my Kindle PDF's, docs, presentations, etc. -> business related (i.e. in MS Office format) are stored in OneDrive and private in Google Drive/Docs. Then I use links to them in various notes. Most of my notes have been imported to OneNote (full MS Office version) and some (short/simple) to Apple Notes. As you see I have chosen diversification and I'm happy with. I only miss EvN tags a little, but generally OneNote structure is more convenient for me. The best thing is that when I s
  10. There is no point in keeping a faith in Evernote. They will not change for a better any time soon. They updated their business model with the fast food approach. They only care about the most obvious and unsophisticated needs of the majority of average users. I have already happily moved 80% of my notes to another platforms. This month I plan to migrate the rest, and then cancel my premium and bye bye 😉
  12. Yeah, but at least they care enough to assure smooth switch instead of unprofessional and unpleasant revolution.. Moreover, as you see, they are able to change their minds. Ian Small prefers plausible deniability instead. I don't expect perfection. I just want fair treatment, continuity, and assurance. And I get it from MS.
  13. Just a short story. About a month ago my MS Outlook for Mac asked me if I would like to see a shiny new revolutionary version. I clicked yes, and in few seconds I sow a nice rework - fast, good UX, maybe a bit too shiny, but working stable. However, after some time I discovered, that some advanced functionality isn't available yet. But information about lacking functionality wasn't kept in secret. There was a clear message from app about this and that they are working on this. Moreover, there was an option (button) to return to the old app included in the message box. I clicked
  14. I have pretty similar background like you. I was responsible as a manager to assure high quality software delivery (A-SPICE L2) for one of major players in the automotive sector. 1. Yeah, my reaction for "extensive QA process" was just laughing loud! 😉 Current state of new app doesn't give us evidences that they even perform minimum QA... 2. You can review old preview/beta forums here - they are still available in read-only mode. In the first half of the 2020 many preview/beta users tried to convey the message to EvN that new software wasn't ready even for beta stage and testing
  15. In the meantime there were some small issues with my Internet connection and sat-TV. Both companies apologized and offered small discount/gift. So, get real. It's CX. Moreover, in 2012 "Apple CEO Tim Cook has written an open letter on Apple’s website, finally apologizing for the Maps drama that’s been unfolding over the past few weeks with the introduction of iOS 6." https://techcrunch.com/2012/09/28/tim-cook-apologizes-for-apple-maps-points-to-competitive-alternatives/ "Zoom CEO apologizes for security problems on public live stream" https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/8/21213847/zoom-c
  16. I asked about refund one or two months ago. Answer was a kind of denial. Support guy wrote that Premium means accessing server from many devices and having access to premium support, etc., but apps are for free. No apologies. Just common text that EvN will fix it someday in the future. My subscription ends in few months. I will most probably not renew it. I'm currently testing alternatives and use BackuperyForEvernote to assure safety of my data.
  17. Thank you, the same to you! Links, which I collected about export/import: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/import-notes-from-evernote-into-onenote-2016-for-windows-81805ec8-e8a8-417e-9719-37fed2b7a67c | https://www.onenote.com/import-evernote-to-onenote https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/how-to-migrate-your-evernote-notes-to-microsoft- https://office-watch.com/2019/new-features-promised-for-onenote/ https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/onenote-web-clipper/gojbdfnpnhogfdgjbigejoaolejmgdhk https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/migrate-from-evernote-to-apple-notes/
  18. There were a lot of requests already on this forum and on social media asking Evernote for honest feedback for last months, but zero answers. Only some blog posts/videos with faked enthusiasm about a new release. Please search this forum for more. There is a potential risk (educated guess), that EvN is falling apart as a company. Therefore, daily back-ups and looking for alternatives is recommended. I'm currently testing MS OneNote (full Office 365 version) with pretty good results. There are some limitation, but app is fast and reliable and MS promised lot of new features in 2021.
  19. It's a false statement. About 8-6 year ago there was a problem with the integrity of EvN servers for about half a day. Then CEO officially apologized for issues and offered an extra year of premium subscription for free for all those affected. QED.
  20. Yep. Everybody is looking through own lenses. Some of or us are more pessimistic, some realistic, and some (too) optimistic. It will be good to respect all perspectives. There are also unconscious things like for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimism_bias https://fs.blog/2016/08/commitment-consistency-bias/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases
  21. Yep, I hope for too... However, with the CEO Ian "We don't plan" Small and current very poor product and quality management I don't see a lot of hope. Maybe it's good time for shareholders to hire better managerial staff.
  23. Scared isn't probably the best description. However, I share concerns about the high risk of possible failure/collapse. EvN currently behave as a very incompetent company, which is probably incapable to produce something solid, reliable, and last but not least be able to take care of the needs of advanced users. Moreover, EvN isn't too big to fail.. 😉 Therefore is good to do regular backups and review/test alternatives.
