  1. In my opinion and a single word “yes” Now I understand that an Evernote Forum is probably not the best place to ask that question, however, following the Forum the last two years there has been a lot of discussion on searching for alternatives. My main complaint against EN is not the cost, but it is very slow compared to OneNote. I have been using OneNote 2016 Windows for about a year, but when my paid EN subscription expired on 10/01, I have been using it exclusively. I have been happily using Evernote for a long time. I am not giving up yet. When Jan 1 arrives, I plan to re-up my paid EN subscription to a monthly plan and import my last 3 months of OneNote and see hopefully improvements in the performance. Any Evernote / OneNote users out there? Take it easy on me Pink😊
  2. Almost all my docs are pdf's. Bank and tax stuff are encrypted pdf's. I am curious Boot17, how are you using Veracrypt with Evernote?
  3. Here, I thought I was safe and secure. I am not sure to any of those questions. Got any suggestions to putting a secure doc in Evernote.
  4. Hey everyone, this is what I do. Please tell me if you think if this is a safe procedure. I scan all documents into pdf's on the SwiftScan app on my iPhone. SwiftScan has an option to encrypt a pdf. If any doc I feel is sensitive I encrypt it. It is a simple process and works quite well. Generally, daily I upload all the latest files to a Dropbox import folder. When I invoke Evernote on the PC the files are imported, and if I wish to view the encrypted file/s I type in the password. I have been doing this ever since V10 came out without local notebooks, however, I am still using legacy.
  5. I read much complaining on that V10 is slow. Is it slow for a small amout of notes? I have about 3K notes & my exb file is about 1.7GB I am using Legacy on Windows 10 and the IOS app on iPhone. I sync up easily and use the iPhone app very often. The app is very fast. I "love" Evernote.
  6. Personally, I feel OneNote is a good alternative to Evernote. Using it with the Microsoft 365 tools and OneDrive is not a bad option. I have been using it since V10 came along. I run it parallel to Evernote Legacy since the 1st of the year. I have not installed V10 on my Windows PC and don’t intend to until I can see a consensus on the Forum that it is ready. I am very appreciative of your input. I personally feel that EN will evolve for the better and I will be very happy to continue using it. For now, using EN Legacy in conjunction with the iPhone app I am very satisfied. I love the iPhone app.
  7. I hope the import option will also allow to keep after import. Almost every note I have comes thru an import folder from Dropbox. I never delete any of them. It is a pretty good pre-backup.
  8. Ever since V10 came along and dis-allowed local notebooks I save a good portion of my docs as encrypted PDF’s. I then import those docs into Evernote using an import folder. I am still a legacy user on Windows 10, however I also use the current iPhone app. When I open the iPhone app to view an encrypted file I type in the password and I can view as expected. Works great. My question: When I am viewing that PDF inside of Evernote is it safe from prying eyes or can it be captured in some way?
  9. Wow! Why Ariaza are you switching to Evernote. I am contemplating just the reverse. Are you a long time user? I am trying to run both Evernote & Onenote in parallel. I export to Onenote periodically using Evernote2Onenote. It works OK. If Evernote becomes unuseable to me I will do the switch. I do not want to. I have grown very accustomed to EN
  10. Using Evernote as a task manager is a joke. Their are many, many task managers out there. Any of them would be better. I also use Microsoft To-Do. Use it with the ios Fantastical calander app on your iPhone. It is exceptional.
  11. I use the SwiftScan app and I upload all documents as pdf's to an import folder in Dropbox. When I open EN it imports all of the designated files. I could share up to Evernote directly, but using the import folder is a lot easier. I am using the EN legacy app. I don't know if it's working on V10. SwiftScan is a great app. It is almost a good alternate to EN. It keeps all your docs local on your phone and you have the option of saving your stuff to the cloud of your choice. The search engine is excellent and you can encrypt the pdf before you send to the cloud.
  12. Forgive me guys, but I am pretty new to the Forum and I really don't know how to navigate properly through it. By the Grace of God, somehow you got my message and you have responded. Thank you very much. Evenote is such a DYNAMITE app and I don't want to lose it. I plan on waiting for your expert advice before I bite the bullet and go over to V10. At this point in time I am feverishly tuning up my database in prep for when Legacy ceases to exist. I love the IOS app, but I need to sync up from the desktop. (Windows) In response to DTLow I have rebooted and will again. I wasn't really aware of the activity log. It is pretty cryptic. I will keep an eye on it. FYI: Been using Evernote about 3-4 years. I have about 3000 notes. Small compared to you power users. About 99% of my notes are static PDF's, with 3% encrypted. No more local notes. Beartooth is a free account, but I also have a paid account. I firmly believe "That you get what you pay for". BTW: Any recommedation on info as to how to use the Forum would be appreciated.
  13. Is legacy 6.25 still syncing? I have been having difficulty lately. It has been sporadic but eventually worked. As of 4/9/21 I can't get it to work at all.
  14. With all the negative talk of V10, why would you choose to go to EN? I also use OneNote. What is changing your mind to switch?
  15. I use ScanPro all the time. I like it because , if I choose to, I can encrypt the document before I send it to the cloud. My procedure is to send my documents to a Dropbox folder which happens to be an import folder for Evernote. When I invoke Evernote at the PC it automatically brings all my files in and then I tag them accordingly. A side benifit is that all my notes are also remaining in the Dropbox folder. I never delete them and any important stuff is encrypted. Works real good. I hope EN10 will allow import folders.
  16. I am preparing for not using V10. I am using the legacy version of EN now and realize I will not be allowed to use local notebooks in the future. My problem has always been “How can I view my local docs when I am not in front of my computer?” I am an iPhone freak and insist that I must be able to access all my data on that device. Period! After years of trying different approaches, I have come to this procedure. I use Cryptomator. I can view my docs with complete ease and security. On the iPhone I click the app and face recognition allows me in. At home it is just a virtual drive Y:/Evernote_input. The name might imply that it is an import folder, which it is. When I invoke EN at the pc it loads the latest into a local notebook. It works just dandy. I try to keep as much data as I can in the cloud.
