Totally agree. It would be a very useful feature. To select the highlighter and that you could read and highlight every piece of text you like, instead of selecting text and then the highlight button every single time. It's a lot of clicks and time wasted.

I think that it would be better that when you want to use the highlighter it would keep selected until you quit. A way in which I use evernote is to collect articles from the web to read them later. But when I want to read and highlight the process is select a piece of text and then pulse on the highlight button, and then again and again with every piece of text. Wouldn't it be better to push the highlight button at the beginning, so when you select every piece of text it comes highlighted without the need to push the button each time; and when you finish or need another tool you simply deactivated it. And if when you select a piece of text it comes highlighted but at the same time it pops up a little box of highlight colours so you may want to change the last one you had used it would be the best tool.
