Hello,

I recently returned to using Evernote after a significant hiatus and updated it to the latest version (10.75.1). However, I was disappointed to discover that as a free user, I am now restricted to creating only 50 notes and 1 notebook due to the new pricing plans. This limitation is quite frustrating, and I may need to seek an alternative note-taking solution, bidding farewell to the green elephant.

Nevertheless, I'm concerned about the fate of my previously created notebooks and notes. I've amassed 23 notebooks containing approximately, 2600 notes. Currently, I can access and manage them under my free plan. However, I'm unsure about their future in the Evernote database while remaining a free user.

Although my existing notebooks and notes exceed the limitations imposed on free users, they are still accessible to me. I hope they won't be removed or rendered inaccessible in the future. I plan to either export them to another note-taking application or leave them untouched in the Evernote database until I find a suitable solution.

Should I be worried about the fate of my notebooks and notes in the Evernote database as a free user?

There are already a number of threads about this issue. Maybe you search them, and add your vote. Personally I support the request, the larger and the more diverse our user community is, the better. This means supporting RTL languages as well as other features.

You can send your request as well directly to EN PM, via the feedback function build into the clients.

Sorry, I should have searched to avoid posting this issue again. I requested it again via the feedback function of EN and vote it for the same thread that someone asked it for 9 years ago, but EN hasn't added this simple function yet! I don't know why this simple feature doesn't exist and many people talk and ask EN to bring it to the app. But I hope it'll come to EN soon.

 reading a captured text to find important phrases or words to add as tags and adding tasks could take time by typing or still selecting and pressing F3 and then pasting it. I wish the "add to tag" option in right-click menu for selected text or it could be better and faster, select a word and use a shortcut to add it immediately to the tags section.

Evernote for Windows doesn't support Right-to-Left paragraph direction for the text. (don't confuse it with the "alignment" button). Still using the right alignment for languages like Persian, Hebrew, and Arabic. The text has problems with signs like "periods" that go to the beginning of a line (instead of the end of a line), asterisks, or parenthesis make flip and move to the wrong place.

If you need to edit HTML code, get a HTML editor, not a note taking app. There are too many different ways how HTML is created by the modern web content managers to allow a „one fits all“ editing. You usually will have to look around to get an editor that supports the features of a specific website, and it may not work well for others.

With EN you can keep the original clip, or decide to edit content - which is created by the simplifying action. The simplifying creates a simple HTML code that can be edited without the risk of loosing content. If you want to keep the original clip, duplicate the note before you simplify and edit.

If you want to talk to EN about it, use the feedback function or issue a support ticket.

I used to clip a web page and highlight some lines, but now It can't, this is a weakness, I don't want advanced editing or edit codes, so change to HTML editor, just clip articles and need to highlight the most important lines in a different color, but in new versions makes us transform to a simplified version to do this simple function.

I used to clip HTML pages and delete, bold, or highlight some lines or words, that was cool, but in the new version; it seems it can't, and need to change the clipped HTML page into a "simplified" version that not good and lost some pages, formatting and cause some mess. I use 10.35.3 on Windows and after a long time I tried to clip HTML pages and need to highlight parts, found out it can't and I have to sacrifice the original appearance to access edit tools. In this way, it can't use by me. Is there any fix for this or there's no way?

Hi,

Set color for the Notebooks and Stacks icons in the sidebar would be great and find them easier and the appearance of the sidebar could be better and nicer. Please accessible these options for all plans, not just for paid customers. I saw another requested post to give color for the "tags". This is great and it's also another wish thing I like to see in Evernote. Colors make Evernote better and stronger.

The best practice is to simply log into your account   
The sync process will restore your local notes database from the server (except for Local Notebooks)

It's too bad the exported/imported file doesn't include the notebooks details and note-IDs. Export notebooks could be a good idea to import one by one instead of a mixed confusing single file.

After this experience, I agree with live sync to restore the notes. It's a better than .enex method for me. Fortunately, my notes are simple, light notes of webpages, not media like audio or video, and didn't take too much, even with my low-speed connection!

I had to reinstall my Windows OS. Before that, exported all my notes into a .enex file (about 700 MB / 2500 notes). Now in the fresh Windows, I installed Evernote and while disconnected the internet, imported the .enex file of all my notes. It imported successfully, but it just a single file of all notes, without the notebooks that I named, it's a mixed single file of all notes that many of them are unrelated to each other and need to be tidy and classified! That’s the disappointing importing process and why Evernote did like this and why it didn’t keep my notebooks (with their names like before) and its notes inside them? It seems I should select notes one by one and create the notebooks from scratch and send the related notes to specific own notebooks.

Another horrible thing is, when I start to sync, Evernote brings back the notebooks that I need and also their notes from cloud service, and it doesn’t care about the imported .enex file and that is completely useless and now I post my question here, Evernote syncing to get all notebooks and own notes. 

So export/import function for me is useless, I thought after importing function, Evernote won't download the notes from the cloud service, because I have them all, just sync to see what things have changed:

1- I expect in export/import function, Evernote keeps my named notebooks with notes inside them and recovers them as they showed before reinstalling Windows, not a mixed single file that needs to rearrange from scratch to their own notebooks.

2- And when start to connect and sync, Evernote recognizes the notes and doesn’t import them again. Just sync the difference and changes.

I’m a free plan user – Evernote 6.24.2 on Windows 10.

(Updated Evernote on Windows 10)

I created a note and change the direction of a paragraph to right for Persian Languages that written from right to left. It's okay, but when I want to have lines with numbers (inserted manually or automatic numbered list), the number goes to the end of lines, instead of placed in the first of line where I start to write my letters after numbers and the periods that must be placed at the end of a sentence; goes to the first of lines. 
Does Evernote need to improve for the right to left languages to fix these problems or there's a hidden feature or trick that I don't know?

I expect Evernote behaves like MS Word or any standard word processors in these situations, so I can write a note smoothly and fast in action. But as I see I can't write my notes in number modes correctly.

Hi. Good news! Today I clipped some pages and this time web clipper works well such as before and now I can see "Related Notes" in its window! 😃. Thank you Evernote developers and whoever fix it!

As you said, I clipped a page twice and still, the problem remains. The clipper window can't find the first version of these duplicate to show in its window and just shows "no result" again!

Hi. Yes, the "Show Evernote content related to my web searches" option is on. Do you mean I should try and clip a page twice to see the similarity in the second time? When everything was okay in the previous days that I told, related notes section found the pages that have in common points, not the exact context. While I'm sure some pages that I clip have similarities, but the window can't find and show them for me.

Recently, whenever I clip every page of a specific website, no related pages find in web clipper window and just show "No result" as you see in below screenshot! about two weeks ago, everything was fine and okay, but see this issue in recent days and don't know why? reinstall the clipper extension in Chrome browser and didn't fix my issue to help me. Also try with another browser (new version of Edge), but nothing has changed. Chrome is up-to-date. Clipping process is fine and save those pages I want and sync is okay between devices (PC and cell), but just want to know why the clipper window doesn't show any related notes, while I'm sure some pages and topics that I saved/clipped before have similarity with my new pages and topics.
