  1. I read somewhere in the Evernote help page that when I do a search, Evernote will also search Google Drive filenames of those files attached in notes in Evernote. I have not been able to get attached files to show up using their file names. Must I include some arguments in the search field for this to work? Will Evernote also search the content of the attached file or just the filename? Could you give me some tips on how to do proper searches? I saw the Evernote help article for advanced searches but (link) I want to know about keys which are not mentioned on that page such as using double quotes to get exact phrase search I'm using Evernote for Mac - V 6.8 (Direct).
  2. I just discovered that I am having the same issue. However, this did not occur with another shared notebook. While tags for one shared notebook were deleted, the tags from the other one are not getting deleted. I tried the steps you tried and still did not manage to delete them. I am using Evernote for Mac - Version 6.8 (Direct).
  3. 100,000 notes is the total overall limit for number of notes in Evernote regardless of number of notebooks right? EDIT - 100,000 notes for Evernote personal use that is
  4. Since note size limits are set to 200 MB per note, I would like to know in relation to notes if there is a limit to number of notes per notebook. I did not find anything regarding this on the system limits of Evernote page but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any limit as for a particular notebook that would involve addition of regular daily online clippings in the range of 10-20 notes per day, would I encounter an issue in the long run? Or should I do periodic reviews and assign notes to the relevant notebooks? Or should I not worry and simply leave the notes tagged?
  5. I have not been able to properly follow this discussion, so please excuse me if I do not understand basic things already pointed out in this thread. I want to know what happens when I combine a set of images of handwritten notes into PDF (outside of Evernote) and upload that to Evernote - will it be searchable? I have subscribed to Evernote Premium. I have taken those images from my phone's camera and have not put them in any software or OCR software. I have them stored in Google Drive. Another question - if I combine those images into a PDF (outside of Evernote and again not OCRd) and save it in Google Drive (instead of uploading them in Evernote), can I use the integration to search those notes?
  6. On clicking signature, it leads me to this (please see attachment). There is no view signature option for me. So I suppose I need to wait for a few more days.
  7. Suppose I put my sync setting of my Evernote Mac Desktop client to manually and then I add attachments to notes and annotate them by reducing/cropping file size in Evernote. If I sync after making all the necessary changes, will that count as efficient utilisation of upload allowance or does Evernote sync in some other way those notes?
  8. Is there a way to insert multiple files from Google Drive as attachments or links rather than clicking on the Drive icon, searching for the right folder or file and attaching files from there one at a time? If you could add a recently opened folder tab on the side of the Drive preview, it would make things work out faster rather than having users to search for files to be attached from the same folder in certain situations. Please enable multi-file-select to attach the files/links. Does anyone have a quick and easy workaround for this? EDIT: For the time being, I think I will use my Google Drive desktop folder to drag the files I need into Evernote. And I just wanted to test out Evernote's oft-so-heard search feature and I must say WOW - Evernote can actually read my awful handwriting. I'm stunned.
  9. I am not able to see anyone's signature. Could this be because I am a new user and have restricted settings like being unable to change my own signature for a buffer period of 10 days since joining?
  10. You can get some information here (its related to your post):
  11. Related to Feature Request - Annotate PDF(didn't want to create another thread): Annotate is based on overlays I think. So that means I cannot really select text and get that annotated using highlight or strikethrough for example. I suppose this has been done keeping in mind cross-platform compatibility with touchscreen interfaces and the like. I would like to request Evernote to add (at least for the Desktop clients) the ability to select text with the cursor and annotate (like highlight, underline, strikethrough, etc) them at one go instead of only allowing it to be done line by line like using a pen. It would be really useful in doing strikethroughs, underlining, etc which are also not available on Evernote. I know that there is a draw line option but even that would involve doing it line by line. I also know that there are third-party apps that are good at this but if this is included within Evernote's ecosystem, it would make the process a whole lot faster and simpler. Please at least consider this for the Desktop clients.
  12. You're right, I suppose this is one of those many other nice-to-have feature requests on Evernote. Hopefully sometime in the future, Evernote would enable us to link annotations as well. It would save a tiny amount of time
  13. Thanks for the quick response. While these issues are being addressed, I would like to request a tiny feature addition. When clipping a screenshot, I am unable to move beyond what is displayed on the screen (unable to scroll to increase the selection window). Screenshot by definition shouldn't allow scrolling but it would be nice to have it capturing content that does not always fit within the display screen. Edit: Also, if you can add resize option after we have selected the clipping and before it opens up for annotation and saving, I think it would make it easier when we are doing quick clippings and in situations like that where we may make mistakes in selection. Currently, resize option is available only within the selection.
  14. I'm using Chrome for Mac - Version 52.0.2743.116 (64-bit). There are major issues with the screenshot feature: Screenshot tool selection highlight is not visible on websites with black background Screenshot of Youtube videos is a pain. For example, if you were to look at a video from Khan Academy (KA) website (please see attached photo and my annotations), you can understand what I am trying to say Screenshot of Youtube videos in full screen mode fails - again from the same KA website (I am not a computer person but I think they 'embed' Youtube videos) On any website/webpage, if I click screenshot and drag the tool but press Esc key before releasing the mouse drag-click, the web clipper disappears as it should but I am no longer able to scroll down the page as even the scroll bar vanishes (using the mouse scroll bar does not work as well). Sometimes, the webpage becomes blank. I can use the page normally only after hitting refresh I am actually using Evernote tools to explain visually the issue(s) in this forum, wow, it really is an awesome tool!
  15. Voted up! Would be great in addition to the passcode option currently available. However, I would like to have fingerprint support across all compatible Android devices rather than just a few.
  16. I not entirely sure if this has been discussed already or is already a feature of Evernote. I would like to be able to create links for a certain part of PDF documents (say some of the annotated parts) just like we create note links. This might seem like a very specific request or something that may not be very useful for all users. I would like to explain why I am asking for this feature as then maybe other users could develop their own ideas around this feature request. I read a particular newspaper online/offline using the newspaper's PDF version. As part of my news analysis study, I need to be able to categorise relevant news articles (to create a clipping of sorts) to the relevant notebooks for detailed future analysis of a particular issue. Considering that Annotate feature already makes a summary of the PDF document, I think we can build on that to allow note links. (Annotating newspaper PDFs which have multiple columns is very easy to do with Evernote). Say for example, there is an article on social issues, I would like to be able to add that article in the social issues notebook that I have. Now I understand that there are different types of annotations like boxes, lines, arrows, stamps, highlight, draw, etc and adding note links for each of these annotations may not be ideal. But ability to add note link for at least one of the features like boxes could be just right. Splitting PDFs into smaller ones via third party apps may not work as newspaper articles on a particular page are all not covering the same issue/reports. A simple link would be an amazing feature for me. Even getting the link of the particular article online and then clipping that using the web clipper is cumbersome as I would have to search and locate the relevant article, then clip it, then assign it to the right notebook all the while assuming the article can be accessed online through the browser. Sometimes, these articles may not be posted online or may only be available on the print version and the PDF version. I could otherwise read the print edition, and snap a photo of relevant articles and then categorise it but for online editions, this would links to annotated parts would be a boon. I'm pretty sure people who use PDF documents regularly would appreciate this feature. Or are there other ways of doing this? I would appreciate any tips/tricks!
  17. I think currently you can annotate notes by converting them to PDFs. However, once your note is converted to PDF, you will not be able to edit your note. For the time being, maybe converting your note to PDF and then annotating them may help make things easier. Hope Evernote brings Annotate for notes without the need to convert to PDF. I'm voting up this post.
  18. YES! It does work now. Even though it still does not recognise my sign in, I can now raise a request. Thank you! It is strange that Evernote has this issue. @BSR, should I raise another support ticket regarding this?
  19. Thanks for the quick reply, I'm having a hard time trying to create a support ticket as I am unable to sign in and raise a request. If I sign in, it opens up my notes and when I click on the support request link it still does not recognise that I am already signed in. I have Evernote Premium so I should be able to raise a request right? Please see the attachment.
  20. Hi, I'm still relatively new to Evernote and I can't seem to find your signature let alone the support ticket link anywhere. Could you tell me as to where I can find your signature?
  21. @gazumped, given that this is a Mac Help forum and that this particular thread is with regard to Annotate PDFs, until the Evernote team finds out a fix for this issue of crashing for multiple page deletions in PDF Annotate mode, I think a good and quick workaround would be using Preview in Mac. Must enable thumbnails and then select the pages to be removed and hit delete! As simple as that! No need to get another PDF editor tool in Mac at least. This was based on your idea of efficiently using Evernote's monthly upload allowance. Thanks again!
  22. I suppose you meant this to be done via split screen feature of Mac OS. I can't figure out how to drag and drop into another note without that feature. But yes, your tip is quite helpful in certain situations. Thank you. I am not sure about merge as I wanted to know only about ToC and not merging notes into a single note. Indeed faster but still a pain.
  23. I was informed that there is no way to delete multiple pages in a PDF in annotation mode. I know that deleting a single page in a PDF in annotation mode is available. I would like to request the Evernote team to allow deletion of multiple pages in a PDF in annotation mode. In another forum, I was explained as to why deleting multiple pages in a PDF attached in a note might be an inefficient way of using my upload allowance. Nonetheless, I feel this feature might make Evernote simpler and more powerful for users.
  24. @BSR, I followed all the steps listed including permanent deletion of referenced note from trash. I attached the PDF file in a new note and let the Evernote sync the file before annotating. I then clicked on Annotate (which opened the file in a separate window as it usually does) and Evernote crashed again on deleting the third page. Evernote crashes only on deleting 3 pages. @gazumped, you're right, it did not occur to me that the file would be uploaded again and again after each edit. I will make use of the Drive integration. Thank you for taking the time to point this out!
