To EN staff: after some testing with Chrome on Win 10, it only happens when web page is open in background tab. On any page open in foreground clipper seems to work fine.
This is MY experience; I would ask others to test it, and confirm or deny it to help EN developers.

You may be right but for the link that I had mentioned in the earlier post, it does not clip even when open either in single tab/multiple tab or foreground/background. If possible, please see if you are able to get the clipper to launch on the link that I had shared earlier. I can't seem to locate the specific action that is causing the clipper to give the dialog box message on that particular link.

@rubenb, the Clipper earlier (prior to 6.10) had no issues at all while launching on all websites. With 6.10.1 (35f63f9/1.1.0.926), it solved some of the problems but not all. For example, in this page (link), I'm getting the error "The Clipper couldn't start on this page. Reload the page and try again. If that doesn't help, contact customer support". However, other webpages of the same website seem to be clipping fine. Can't understand why its working like this.

This issue has not been fixed on Chrome for Windows, reported here (briefly - have to press the shortcut to start clipper a second time for it to recognise keyboard shortcuts):

Thanks for the update, this fixes some of the issues I reported earlier:
Fixed:I am now able to scroll down the tags in the add tag bar by hitting the down arrow key reported here:
Partly fixed and partly not:
I don't think issue number 1&2 reported here have been addressed while issue number 4 has been fixed (Thank you!): -

if we had this linking ability the Contextual Suggestions might become even smarter because of it?
@Willem Van Zyl, I think this is an awesome idea and you should make a separate feature request for it! Wow!

How do certain topics become featured like this one with a star next to it? I have checked the forums, turns out number of votes is not the criterion.
Does it mean that this issue is being considered on priority by the Evernote team? Are we finally seeing it in the not too distant (hopefully) Mac client update?
@JMichaelTX, looks like we have come a long way in this topic in terms of number of votes. Incidentally, this topic appears to be the most requested (through votes) topic in the Mac product feedback forum! -

@DTLow, could we request the Evernote team to increase the vote button size or make it more prominent at least? To be honest, I wasn't aware of this button until scrolling through the +1s and eventually finding your vote posts with the image. I think a lot of new users to the forums tend to miss out on the vote button. I think it should be made bigger or displayed more prominently. I know this statement is not related to this discussion but I do not know where to make this specific request.
Also, I would like this feature to be implemented as well. Voted up! -

@ChiragC I don't see an open ticket from you regarding this issue, but when you get an opportunity to submit one you can let me know the number here and I will be happy to follow up on it for you!

Things I have tried:
- Right-click and select Delete Tag (I get a dialog saying that I can't because it's in a Shared notebook)
- Drag the tag to the Trash (Adds the tag to my Shortcuts)
- Select the tag and press Backspace (No effect)
- Select the tag and press Delete (No effect)
- Create a temporary tag, drag the unwanted tags to it so that they're nested and then delete the parent tag (Deletes the parent and puts the unwanted tags back where they were)
- Close and restart Evernote and repeat all of the above (Same results)
- Close all instances of Evernote (Desktop, web, and iOS), restart Desktop and repeat all of the above (Same results)
- Sign out of Evernote, sign in again and repeat all of the above (Same results)
- Search the forums and web for suggestions (Found all of the above, but nothing useful unless I was using a Windows client. And a statement that this would be fixed in "an upcoming update" which was a year old.)
I just discovered that I am having the same issue. However, this did not occur with another shared notebook. While tags for one shared notebook were deleted, the tags from the other one are not getting deleted. I tried the steps you tried and still did not manage to delete them. I am using Evernote for Mac - Version 6.8 (Direct).

you can have up to 100,000 notes in a single notebook
100,000 notes is the total overall limit for number of notes in Evernote regardless of number of notebooks right?
EDIT - 100,000 notes for Evernote personal use that is -
Since note size limits are set to 200 MB per note, I would like to know in relation to notes if there is a limit to number of notes per notebook. I did not find anything regarding this on the system limits of Evernote page but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any limit as for a particular notebook that would involve addition of regular daily online clippings in the range of 10-20 notes per day, would I encounter an issue in the long run? Or should I do periodic reviews and assign notes to the relevant notebooks? Or should I not worry and simply leave the notes tagged?

Somehow, I got the link to clip by clicking on the link. When I try it again, it fails. Doesn't work in the new window. You are most likely right. We must be facing different problems. I am running Chrome on Mac Version 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit) in case that helps EN staff reading these posts.
