  1. @Jon T has just posted on Reddit that they have bought Mosiac Group too which has a fair group of apps.
  2. It’s going to change soon, Federico has posted on Twitter the new icon, it changes with the ui update from what I understand. Should be this month.
  3. Oft Dunego, seriously I get this can be frustrating but you made mistakes and now need support. Support are clogged which isn’t acceptable but it is what is is. This entitled ‘I’m an artist do what I want or I’ll harm you’ nonsense though? You’re not gonna get much sympathy conducting yourself with such arrogance.
  4. Perhaps try a different browser? I was able to take advantage of this offer a few days ago, I used safari on the iPad and it worked fine. Some of the pages took a while to load but it got there.
  5. Never mind, it came by email instead! Consider me sucked back in! Another year now, can’t turn down a saving like that.
  6. Now that I am no longer a subscriber I get notifications to subscribe when I log into the app. The current one is actually no bad, 40% off - could be tempting except it’s for professional when I was a personal subscriber. Might be worth offering people what they were on, trying to get them to go a tier above what they were using is less likely to see people take up offers.
  7. That is true, it seemed to be changing tho, some good engagement between Evernote and users, then it all just stopped. No idea why, but the hunger that so many productivity apps have to give users good experiences, staff quick to engage with users etc, it’s utterly absent now with Evernote which is one of the more premium apps. It I contrast that with Craft where I’ve had Zoom calls, get regular emails from staff to ask about things, they engage frequently in the Slack group, less so in the Circle one, it’s so different. I guess maybe it’s different priorities, I am of the view if I’m spending money I want to know there is support and staff value user experience, maybe that’s less a priority for others. We all gotta pick what we are comfortable with in the end.
  8. Some of that seems based in reality other bits less so, no acknowledgment of the on going support issues sadly. I think the biggest feature they could offer at the moment is timely top quality support which reflects the premium price of the product. I still find the utter reversal of staff engaging here and responding to bugs to utter silence completely bewildering. Maybe 2024 will bring change, that first begins by acknowledging the current mess and apologising for it IMO.
  9. My big tip - don’t delete your Evernote! So many delete their account out of protest or something - there is no gain at all in that. Test stuff out and see what works for you 😊
  10. Amplenote have an Evernote importer as does Obsidian. I have generally left my notes in Evernote in my transition to free and working now in Craft for most things and Amplenote for tasks and email fowarding. Accepted now that Bending Spoons vision and my expectations don’t and won’t match so it’s time to move on. Good luck in your search.
  11. I don’t get the complexity, if Evernote sold lifetime offers at one point, they should be honoured surely unless Evernote doesn’t exist any longer - but it does. Whether a company should sell lifetime deals is a whole other issue. I don’t think mocking the user who raises this is a fair approach, which a fair few folks here are. Things are getting both toxic and desperate in this continued defence of the various actions of Evernote.
  12. Very true. You would think they would apologise, fix the error and then state if you wanted a refund they would do so. It seems instead they have not fixed the issue and instead will just give you your money back, throwing money away instead of seeking to retain customers.
  13. I recall not long ago Federico and a few others from the staff were reading the forums and actually caring about user experience. What has gone wrong? Are they all on holiday or do they just not care? I am so sorry @Legal you have paid for a service and due to a mix of their incompetence (the framework has failed to recognise payment) and their disinterest (not monitoring forums or dealing with support requests) that you are now in this position. I really hope it is resolved for you soon but sadly there is nothing much the forums can do other than agree this is wholly unacceptable.
  14. I think the rollout has been poorly communicated. I think the greater problems mentioned here are FAR more concerning because they indicate that Bensing Spoons are not thinking about user experience. Pop ups that appear during writing which then crash the app? Wtf that should never be even a possibility. Notes going missing is still occurring for too many users. Evernote staff are once again silent on issues. another example - I went to cancel my sub on my phone, got to the final screen where a massive pop up box of 40% off annual appeared, but due to its size I couldn’t get to the x, pinching or scrolling etc wouldn’t work, so I couldn’t cancel. I’ll need to try on another device.
  15. No, check trash for them. Notes shouldn’t disappear once created, sometimes sync issues can cause this though, I really wish they would get those finally resolved.
  16. That’s a fair point, and to a degree yeah, I think for me the filmic is further down the line, a bit more of what will be. What stood out for me is kinda what concerns me here - the positive community engagements filmic had with its user community - they are gone, bending spoons doesn’t seem to see user experience and enjoyment as a priority. I think this might explain why they were happy to let the customer support team be released without anything in its place, again, user experience is not the priority. That is a concern for me, I want my use of an app to be positive and to share that with others who have a similar experience.
  17. Not sure how many are aware of this info - https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/3/23986187/filmic-staff-laid-off-bending-spoons Up to know I’ve been kinda hoping Bending Spoons have good motives for app communities but I gotta say this as probably ended that. None of us like seeing staff laid off, I think we all accept that is inevitable with acquisition. What isn’t acceptable is laying off staff when it’s not the right time - ie Evernote’s now non existent support or in the case of filmic laying off staff vital to positive community eleements Filmic even announced FilmicFest 2023, its annual competitive mobile filmmaking festival, would return this year with a $25,000 grand prize, but that’s presumably canceled since the event signup page no longer exists. This bit to me stuck out - a great community element benched because of what exactly? This to me confirms the experience of the user isn’t a priority, much as we are seeing with Evernote and customer care. This has left me really sad in a sense because I’m not sure now the app is in good hands, certainly not for the user base and the community that surrounds that.
  18. Hi all, I’m seeing that in some of my notebooks note sorting isn’t working. I click by date modified and nothing happens, I can change it to any of the other options…nothing happens. The odd thing is that it’s not every notebook, it has to be though the one I actually want sorted tho! Also this ai search lark - has anyone managed to use this on iPhone or iPad? Every time I’ve tried it gets to those flashing search lines where the text result will appear - then nothing happens. It’s been that way for months, it works on desktop but not mobile for me. Is anyone else seeing these issues?
  19. I personally think the limitations are fair and still allow collaboration with a family user or work colleague who isn’t using the app exclusively. I’ve expressed elsewhere a disappointment at how this is communicated to users. My view is a company must strive to offer what they publicly state they are offering. For Evernote this has not been the case. This could have been mitigated by simply popping something on the website and maybe a blog stating trials were occurring as changes likely are coming. As I said I understand why this is being done, but I think it could have been done more transparently and I am concerned by that. I do hope consideration is given to a new basic tier that users who don’t need power features but more notes etc could be considered (basically what was the free tier but a few quid a month). I am glad there is now clarity.
  20. The issue for me is when a company says one thing then does another. Would it be an issue for them to have said they are reviewing and testing things? I don’t think so. Instead they mislead people using the product by stating they get X but actually it’s Y. I can’t grasp how that is acceptable or inspires trust in a company we give our data to.
  21. I entirely agree - this is classless behaviour and casts a highly questionable shadow over the companies ethics. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable expectation that a company provides the service they publicly claim they are offering. Sure, they have the right to change that (and perhaps are right to) but this should be communicated clearly. There has been zero communication regarding these changes and to me that’s not acceptable. I find myself asking, if they are comfortable not to stick to their promises, where else might this occur? Privacy policy? Statement they won’t read notes without permission? Who knows and that’s the thing, once a company starts breaking it word why should it be trusted. My own view, unless there is a MASSIVE change, in January I’ll be cancelling and moving onto a combination of Craft for writing and likely Amplenote for emails and tasks.
  22. As far as I recall Notion does not have offline access, you need internet to access your notes.
  23. This is the key point. If you don’t use Evernote as anything other than taking basic notes, anything could be a replacement really, even a pen and paper (I think they still exist lol). If you use any selection of features though a replacement becomes a journey of compromises into frustrations finding quickly features we though we could live without we want, then the jounery begins again to another app, and on and on. Hours lost, nothing gained. How do I know” cause I do it!
