I have the same issue. @evernote, pls respond if/when this is going to be solved. Totally agree that this seems solvable, important for powerusers (wih many notes you will need taggging!) and we already know it is a feature in business.
Am paying $40 a year to support you (I can live with the free version), would like to see basics like this sorted out!
