  1. When other platforms such as Chatgpt/perplexity/cladue write their reply in markdown format, there is often a copy/paste button

but when i paste the results into Evernote, it loses the markdown formatting.

Instead of bolding it as a header level 2, it shows "##"
Examples: "## Introduction - The chapter opens with a striking example of how..."

    Tables are showing

Can Evernote import it into the evernote header formatting or tables such that it is nicely formatted when copied?

    Thanks!

love the new updated layout btw.

    You want it all ?

    Stick with EN, subscribe.

Or go searching for a better solution yourself. We can only post here what we currently know.

relax, im a EN subscriber for like the past 5 years i think.

just exploring whats out there. always always, keeping a look out to improve the process.

Agree that EN can search inside the PDF, thats like the best thing for me.. but might not be so applicable to other people. Mem.ai said some time ago they are looking at it, but didnt happen i think.

  3. yeah but i need to OCR and search in pdf function, which a lot of basic notetaking app doesnt have. Thats why i havent migrated to Obsidian.

Understand AI is not magic, but the point of paying is for a solution. And i also get the privacy factors involved, so they probably cant exactly use user data to train their models.

The AI powered search is pretty ***** for me. Example, i have 50+ notes tagged "Hong Kong Property". AI-Powered Search suggested me to search "Show me my notes tagged Hong Kong Property", and NOTHING came out. ZERO results. "No relevant notes were found. Try a different search term."

If you see the roadmap in the link, its mostly back-end improvements, which is good. i definitely feel more comfortable that security is improved. But this is basic, no?

And faster sync, really?? not entirely sure if thats a priority for many users. maybe they are targeting users with collaboration needs, business users and teams. Anyway, i dont have their client database, i have no idea

  4. i only like EN because it can OCR pdf automatically and search within those PDFs. i guess i use EN like a drawer and really need the search function

i dont know why notion or obsidian cant... mem.ai looks promising

Dont mind paying. and i think its fair to pay for EN if you use it so much.. just that the product has no real roadmap from here, and the AI could had been a lot better.

  5. theres some much potential with AI, but i have no idea what we are doing with it.
AI Summary is prettty much useless i think...especially if i pay for chatgpt plus

AI search could had been better but it even find stuff properly. Searching for "Show me my notes on US Commercial property" gives me China stuff, or things like Tencent. Not sure how the algo works behind, definitely no AI there.

  6. After auto updating to the recently 10.67.2, my evernote app suddenly slows down to a crawl. Typing is slow, and the if i click "new" button on the left menu, the animation takes about 7 seconds to appear.

However, Evernote's memory usage and CPU usage isnt high. The rest of my computer is fine, works fast as per normal. Evernote lags even if i just restarted computer and nothing is open

This only happened after the recent update. Before this it was fine.

i uninstalled and reinstalled a much older version (only version i can find), and it works fine too, no lags. However, as you know, Evernote auto updates.

    i have a laptop running intel i7-1260P  2.1 GHz with 16GB of memory. .

  7. im quite interested in obsidian AI writing plugins, but they seem to be quite a drain on my openai credits so far. Afterall, would love to use my EN database to write stuff via AI...
very very steep learning curve on obsidian.

and facing some problems moving EN's notes over, especially those with PDF files. any good ideas how to migrate them effecively?

    Thanks!

  8. So far, only noticed adjustments in styles. didnt notice any changes in content besides grammer mistakes, or lengthening of some 'short-forms' (e.g. coz becomes because). AI Cleanup loves to delete my empty paragraphings...

AI Clean up doesnt seem to do anything to notes that are already written nicely in prose form, e.g. those copied from a blogpost.

    6000 word limit too short?

How about one that highlights the key points of a note. 'summaries'

Not entirely that useful. Cant imagine using this feature often.

Will we be able to get something like Notion, turning the note into prose form?

When will AI Search be introduce too?
