  1. There’s so much to appreciate about Evernote, and the Web Clipper is a great companion to it. Oh but the inability to mark notes as read only is huge negative for me. It’s even more disappointing that a fairly simple addition to the UX (which is available to third-party developers or enterprising hackers) has been known about but put off for over five years. That’s a lifetime! I would have considered a paid account at some point too. I would contact Evernote directly, but I wouldn’t expect anything other than a non-comital brush off.
