Thanks for the update.  It has been a long an rocky road since you guys took us for ride with Ver 7.0.

I just updated to Ver 7.4 today, and the web clipping seems to be fine so far, but I do have these issues with the keyboard shortcuts:

    1. The Start Web Clipper does NOT work reliably.
    2. I can't find a way to remove a specific shortcut completely.
    3. ESC does not work as a Close Web Clipper (cancel).

Hi @JMichaelTX, thanks for reporting this. I'm unable to reproduce these issues with version 7.4. Does the issues persist after selecting Reset Shortcuts in the Clipper's Shortcuts menu in Settings?

    Hi,

Works fine clipping images, in new Gmail also.

Only issue, if you clip an email and then move to another one the clipper keeps capturing the 1st one. The solution is to hit F5 to refresh. Any ideias to solve this situation?

Hi @Luís L., thanks for reporting this. I was able to reproduce this issue and filed a ticket with our developers to investigate. I don't have a specific timeframe for when a fix will be available but will update this thread with more information as soon as I have it.

Nearly 6 months since the last update and year after the issue was reported there's no sign of resolution of this annoying bug .

@BSR Do you have an update for us?

It looks like our developers have implemented the fix for this and it is currently scheduled to come out in one of the version 6.12 updates. I don't have a firm date or version number I'm able to provide.

Do the tags appear when logging into your account from the web at evernote.com? If not, the force sync steps I posted above should resolve the issue. Please let me know how this works out for you.

If so, how do I access it?

I thought I saw an article for my client's (Outlook (Win) environment) indicate that a plugin is now available and one exists for Mac as well. Is this true?

Hi @CPN, welcome to the forums!

There is indeed a plugin for the desktop Outlook app for Mac. To get started with this feature, please visit the following Help & Learning center article:

    https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005997-How-to-use-Evernote-for-Outlook#options

    I hope that helps!

@BSR, why was this not fixed in Beta 2 of 6.11 as indicated earlier; and why is it now going to take "two or three" updates to fix?

With all due respect to the Evernote team, the way this has been handled has really been unacceptable. Perhaps if we could understand why this has happened it would help us appreciate the reasons for the delay.

    @zonderkoolzuur

I don't have the full technical explanation, however as was mentioned previously in this thread the short story is that macOS changed the way PDFs were handled in Preview and therefore Evernote's ability to use Preview for annotation of PDFs. Our developers have had a report filed with Apple since the release of Sierra and a fix is scheduled for release in an upcoming update. I don't have a more specific timeframe I'm able to provide. If and when more details are made available to me, I will update this thread.

I got the "we are unable to replicate this" line from Support.  I sent them an example, but no joy on that.  I gave up, not having the time to waste in trying to get somewhere down that road.

    My work-around:

    1)  Never delete the copied bullets from a note until you're sure they've been successfully pasted into another.

    2) When you can't copy from outside of EN (eg gmail or a web page), try copying everything up to the last punctuation mark, as in.  Copy all of the sentence until you get to the period, question mark or exclamation point -- don't include that final mark character in the highlighted text.  That's worked for me some of the time.

    3)  When you're copying from EN to a web article you're writing, I've found that the "don't include the final character" trick -sometimes- helps.  Not always.

    3) always try to paste copied content at the end of a bulleted list.

    Hi @Meraig,

I'm the agent that took your ticket and I did note that I was able to reproduce the issue. Our developers have been working diligently to make many improvements to the note editor for the next release, version 6.11.

Thanks for hanging in there. I appreciate your patience while the team works on the editor. I do think once their work is complete, you will see consistency with the way bulleted lists and other elements display in Evernote and other apps.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

This guy pops in to tell us to use this thread and upvote, clearly the EN community cares a great deal about this, yet the EN staff is never heard from again on the issue... Classic EN. Just can't listen to their users to save their lives, it's exasperating.

We on the Support team welcome feedback and requests for features, and do pass these along to the development and management teams. Our development team does their best to review the requests on these forums for consideration, however posting a feature request is not a guarantee it will be implemented. While the development team doesn't always have time to reply to feature request threads, your votes do have an impact on what gets brought up in discussions as to what features to implement in future updates. However, feature requests are just that: requests. We can not promise that requested features will be added.

The Support team does not have the ability to provide the reasoning behind why the development team has not implemented certain features, because we don't work behind the scenes to know exactly what kind of resources are needed to do so. We also do not publicly share our roadmap for future updates or features.

Are you referring to the problem of Sierra insisting a copy be made of any PDF document opened through Evernote into Preview and then edited?

I used Evernote to manage my research, and this problem has effectively put a stop to my work until it is fixed.

    Hi @caledavis, that's correct.

@Eduardo Estefano - please see my original post in this thread

  9. Hi everyone,

For those of you who have experienced this issue, the fix will be included in beta 2 of Evernote Mac version 6.11. You can update to the beta track using the steps here:

For those of you that do not want to update to the beta, the recommended workaround is to right click on the PDF in the note, select Open with... > Preview, then select and copy your desired text from the PDF.

Feel free to let me know here if you have any questions!

Unfortunately I don't see any option that would allow me to do that. I'd happily ditch other features to get rid of these giant balloons... Oh Well; thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi @seamusmcaffrey,

You can revoke access to the Drive integration in your account settings here:

    https://www.evernote.com/ConnectedServices.action

After revoking access to the integration, you should be able to paste the link back into the note as a hyperlink.

    I hope that helps.

Was this ever fixed?  I'm having this problem too.

@Jason Lazerus would you mind submitting a support ticket? These issues typically occur when the internet connection is slow or the computer is connected through a firewall/VPN. If you let me know the ticket number here I'll be able to follow up on it for you. Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion BSR and willingness to help. I've tried it and it unfortunately made no difference.

You might want to read my initial report on this at the beginning of this thread. It's been an open ticket since August and a known issue by the development team for at least a year before that.

    Stephen Silk

    Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your follow up. I definitely saw your comment at the beginning of this thread. Our development team is still working on a fix for this. I don't have a firm date but I will make any updates available here as I receive them.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do in the mean time.

  13. Hi @sasilk and @steve.anderson,

It looks like this is still an open issue with our developers. I don't have an ETA on a fix currently.

In the meantime, do the shared tags appear in your Tags list on the web?

If they do not appear on the web and you haven't already done so, try force syncing the Mac application.

To force the Mac application to sync all of your notes from the server, follow these steps:

    1. Open Evernote for Mac

    2. Hold the **Shift** and **Option** keys on your keyboard and click the sync wheel (next to your username)

    3. Depending on the number of notes in your account, the amount of time it can take for the force sync to finish will vary.

Please allow the application to complete the sync process before continuing to use the application.

    Hello Brian,

When using this workaround, Evernote periodically, but reliably, crashes. This occurred in both Beta 3 and in the 6.10 general release. Should I submit a support ticket? Thank you.

Hey there @Mike_Rametta, I would recommend submitting a support ticket so we can take a look at the activity logs from your Mac and get to the bottom of this for you. Let me know the number here and I can follow up on it for you, thanks.

I pay for the service, which is paying for the app, which doesn't do what it used to do.

I expect a working product. Not a beta.

BTW. The web version prints titles.

@bobebo67; The fix will be in the general release of 6.10, updating to the beta is optional.

So, according to Evernote support, this is not a bug:

When I print a note, the title isn't printed or turned into a PDF.

Apparently, this is a feature – or a feature which was eliminated in the recent Evernote software version. And I don't understand why one would do that. Apparently, there have been a few users here in the forum, which expressed the wish to not see the title of a note when printing it out. But I believe that for the vast majority of the users, the title of the note is essential information that is just part of a note.

Evernote could have responded to this by giving users an option to print or hide the title in the print menu. But apparently, this didn't happen.

    So here's my feature request:

Please let us print the titles of notes again or at least give users the option to print the title (similar to the print header option). Please reconsider your decision to make the title unprintable.

Hi @idagrove. Your support ticket was in German so I did my best to translate using Google Translate. The fix for this issue will be in the upcoming Evernote release for Mac, version 6.10. Long story short, the option to print the note title was not eliminated. I believe what our German language specialist was trying to convey is that this issue is related to a change in the way note titles function in a note.

You can find the link to the latest beta version of 6.10 here:

I hope that helps clear up any misunderstanding! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

  17. Hi everyone,

It looks like there were some complications with this in Beta 2, but the full fix will hopefully be in Beta 3 of version 6.10. Please keep your eyes on the Product Feedback thread as it will be posted there once it is available:

    Mac Product Feedback Thread

I sincerely appreciate everyone's patience, I know how important this feature is and our team is working hard to fix it. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

  18. Hello everyone,

I wanted to drop in and provide an update on this.

I'd like to thank you all for your continued patience as our developers work on resolving the annotation issues encountered post-Sierra. The fix for the issue where annotation tools are unresponsive/only respond intermittently to markups will be in version 6.10 Beta 2. This should be out sometime next week hopefully. More information will be available here as I receive it.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

  19. Hi everyone,

First thing, I would like to thank everyone for writing in and reporting this. As you all already may be aware, there are several issues with Annotation Mode in the Mac client after the macOS Sierra update. I wanted to drop and and let everyone know that our developers are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. I don't have an ETA on when that will be, but it's a high priority fix. I truly appreciate everyone's patience as we work to resolve this. Thanks again.
