  1. How rude.... Evernote just started throwing up search results when I did Google searches. Apparently it's to do with the web clipper, which I have as extension, but I have not gone into the settings and changed them, which means there's no reason why they should suddenly start coming up! A long-standing problem it seems:
  2. I didn't provide any details, as it was more of a general whinge about Evernote, on the back of a history of frustrations with what was once a fantastic app and is now a bloated mess which still doesn't get basic stuff right. My frustration is leaking through. A lot of people have had problems with their updates, I really don't think it's anything on my end.. I don't have this issue with other software updates and there's nothing unusal about my set up (eg a security suite) that should stop what should be a simple process. I've done various uninstall/full reinstalls along the way. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But just FYI, Windows 10 Pro, using the app (the web interface works fine). System is up-to-date, no unusual software suites etc.
  3. Oh look, another update to Evernote. Run the update. I wonder what will go wrong this time? Open Evernote. Well.. try to open it. I get a faceful of this. This has happened before, and I think necessitated another go at reinstalled Evernote. I'd really rather not this happen every time an upate comes out! I get a note filled with this. Can't do anything else.
  4. Totally agree! The basic wordprocessing functionality of Evernote is about 2 decades behind every other program.
  5. It's cropped up again recently, which is why I thought I'd post in this thread in case it was the same problem. I'll go back to that thread and see what's happened.I just had another update, hopefully that's fixed it.
  6. Hi Scott, was this ever solved? Seems to be happening again to people.
  7. PS seems pretty random, I can delete some notes fine, and then some will refuse.
  8. Same. I'm just working out which program to move to. I tend to be loyal to apps like this (remember Infoselect?), but this kind of thing shows that the company doesn't really care about what's actually going on with the program, and it just gets more and more bloated and slower. And there's still basic things missing (or have been removed - don't get me started about moving the 'store' folder, which has only just been reinstated), like still sorting options.
  9. I used to love how it showed you graphically how many matches your search had, with the little red squares getting fewer and fewer as you drilled down more and more with the search terms. And also proper folder structure - I know there's other ways to do things (tags etc), but I do like to have actual folders to drag the notes into.
  10. It's been missing for a matter of years, I'm not holding my breath! I understand that, and I'm absolutely speaking from my experience, and I've been with Evernote for a long time (since 2012). I wish for the good old days of Infoselect!!
  11. This is ridiculous that you still have to do this workaround (thanks for providing it) to change where the data is kept. Especially when it used to be so easy! I'm seriously considering moving away from Evernote, it's just so frustrating, and each update seems to add more frustrations and fail to address long-standing problems. Any suggestions?
  12. Windows 10 Pro, latest version of Evernote -1 I assume. I've reinstalled and it's all working well now!
  13. Okay, this just happened to me too! I don't recall any big updates, issues with the computer, and I certainly didn't uninstall it myself... It looks like the data is still on my computer, I'll just have to install it I guess, and point it at that directory.
