Search field is moving - it is not good
Walder replied to Walder's topic in Evernote for Mac Issues (Versions 10.0 and above)
My solution now - using Control + Command + E keyboard shortcut to jump to the search field. If there are any words from the last search - use Command + Backspace to delete them. I hate the new location of the search field in the left top corner. The most of applications have it in the right top corner. Why Evernote moved it? It always mess me up when I want to move the mouse there. Now I try to use more keyboard shortcuts. -

I have updated to 10.63.3 and still see the problem. I can not select the word by double-click directly. First, need single-click, then need move the cursor and only after this I can select the word by double-click. Is it possible to make a video in your case? We can compare. -
10.62.2 When you click on the search field, the field moves down. This causes great inconvenience if there was already a word in the search field and you want to select it entirely in order to write another word instead. Previously, it was enough to double-click on a word in the search field. Now, first you have to single-click on the search field, then you need to move the mouse cursor down to the new position of the search field, and only after that you can double-click on the word and select it entirely. Two extra actions have been added. It is not so good for usability. Please do not move the search field when the user clicks on it. Screen Recording 2023-10-09 at 13.59.19.mov

Keyboard shortcut for "Add a reminder"
Walder replied to Walder's question in Evernote for Mac Requests (Versions 10.0 and above)
For me it is Command + ' -
I can agree. It will be great if the user can choose the view of this window in the settings - the calendar or just input field __/__/____ update: The Tab key does not work when I use a Bluetooth keyboard. I have no idea why. It works well in other applications. The Tab key works from the integrated keyboard. But not good as it can be. Need press the Tab key many times to choose a specific day of month. With arrow keys or the input field it will be more quickly.

Currently, in the "Add a reminder" dialog box, selections can only be made with the mouse. The window only responds to the Enter and Exit keys. It will be convenient if you enable the date selection in this dialog box using the Tab key and the arrow keys. Use the Tab key to move between the left and right parts (predefined dates and an free date from the calendar). Use the arrow keys to select a specific date. This would greatly speed up the creation of note reminders.

Please add a keyboard shortcut to open the "Add a reminder" dialog box. Same keyboard shortcut can use to open the "Edit reminder" dialog box if the reminder is already set. Personally, after each exhibition where our company participates, I create a note for each client so as not to forget to contact each client. Hotkeys greatly speed up the process of creating a large number of new notes. But in order to set a reminder, you have to move your hand for the mouse, that slows down the process.

In all cases, when I go to the search field (global keys Cmd + control + E), I need to make a new search. But when you go to the search field, this field may contain the text of the previous query, the cursor rises to the beginning or end of the already existing text in this field. You have to delete the text first, and then enter new text for the search. This is unnecessary keystrokes and a waste of precious time. If the existing text was completely selected, it would be possible to immediately enter new text that would replace the old one. Offer: When you go to the search field using the global keys, select the entire available text.

It is impossible to create a new tag with Russian letter 'б' from the bottom of the note. For example, I want to create a new tag 'Гобелен'. I can type first two letters 'Го'. But when I type the third letter 'б' nothing happens. This tag I can create only in Tags sections or with 'Control - Command - T' shortcut. If the letter 'б' is the first one in the tag - no problem: What is wrong with this Russian letter?

I noticed that if there is no Internet, if you turn off the wireless Internet, the Evernote application works much faster and more comfortable. It looks like the sync is not done in the best way and it slows down the application. It is necessary that synchronization occurs in the real background, without affecting the user experience. I am not a professional programmer and I don’t know how this is done in applications of this kind. There are different events that take place in the application: creating a note, changing a reminder, etc. These events should occur immediately, and should not wait for a response from the server about the successful completion of the event record in databases. Events should be logged to the server in the background.
