I found the answer from mackid1993 most unteresting. But i failed to follow it up. I have deleted all old versions of Evernote because I find I can live without it.

Mackid1993 had a good idea that would let me export my old notes. Unfortunately it seemed a bit too codey for me to do that. I would not buy a windows pc for security reasons. I would not buy a MacBook Air because I recently got a new iPad . I have deleted all old versions of Evernote because I find I can live without it. I do have a question. Do you feel safe doing business with a company (EVERNOTE) that gives no warning that it will change the terms of the contract, and which will at the same time not allow you to take any ameliorating action?

Hah! I was running Mac OS Snow Leopard but upgraded the computer to El Capitan before it wouldn’t take more recent updates to Mac OS. Evernote still worked and it worked up to this month. Evernote decided to introduce something new and make it payable. And that meant introducing a pop up control that you can’t avoid unless you want to buy it. It’s good choice if you want to buy only what you are presented with - but I have information trapped in Evernote that I can’t now extract. I suggest you backup all your information to avoid situations where you are given no choice.

I have had Evernote since 2011. I have gone Down to only 2 devices but I can only upgrade by spending $3000 on hardware. That will not happen because I only use it to store stuff once a month. The web version was recommended but now I get fed up with the login prompts to upgrade. i don’t need Evernote when Google Keep is free. GOODBYE!!!!!!!

I have Evernote version 10.36.4-mac-ddl-public (3377). Whenever I try to use it I get a window that tells me An update is required to continue A new version of Evernote is available. Please download and install it now. However, I can't use this new version because my MAC version is 10.6.11 and that has stopped being upgraded by Apple. I would like the opportunity to decline the newest version of Evernote because the one I have works perfectly for me. How would I achieve this?

I was a free user but now it seems a pricing plan is to be imposed on me. I had two devices that were syncing together adequately but since new year - they don't! The Evernote system met my needs. Now it doesn't. I originally understood that my two devices would sync as required. Now I am only allowed to sync two devices (the same as the past 3 years) but one of those devices is now listed as Evernote Web Service. I need to disconnect one device to function but which? Do I unsync my phone, or my pc, or the Evernote Web Service? In any case I can't use the upgrade method because it's not working at present. So Evernote isn't working in any possible way for me right now. Should I just give up on Evernote (because it changes its payment plans) and use Google Keep instead?
