  1. (Nearly)-Auto-Title of an Evernote Note is included in Windows app 10.42.7. Released August 3, 2022. "The app will now auto-populate new note titles when you click into the title field." Read all the release notes here: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058361833-Evernote-release-notes
  2. Evernote has not notified me of any resolution of the support ticket I opened. The workaround, of course, is two steps rather than one: Snip with Windows, then Paste into Evernote.
  3. I have no Evernote resolution for Support Ticket # 3438021, filed in January. I received an email indicating the ticket has been "passed along to the development team for further review." My own resolution, of course, is to take screenshots with the Windows Snipping Tool, then paste or attach it to my Evernote. Two steps rather than one.
  4. I have almost the same issue as user: This is a unique name. But for me it is the opposite, and I get light gray font printed when I use the "Export as PDF ..." function from the Evernote 3-dot menu, and black font printed when I use the "Print ..." function. The results for 'This is a unique name' seemed counter to that. I tend to agree with user gazumped that it "sounds more like printer settings than an Evernote issue." However, I was unable to change my results by printing the .pdf with different/better printer settings (from Acrobat), always getting a light gray font from the .pdf. I also tried changing my note's font color in Evernote from 'Auto' to 'black' but nothing changed. I can work around this by by preparing drafts using 'Export as PDF ..." function, then publish a finalized .pdf using the 'Print ...' function and selecting a .pdf generator rather than an actual printer. Per Jon/T, I use light mode and have never used black mode. I'm running Evernote 10.31.6 on Windows 10.
  5. Evernote Windows Client V10.31.6 has improved the function 'Export as PDF' that became available in V10.17.6. A 'preview' of the PDF is now automatically generated when the 'Export' is requested (3-dot menu while working with a note). Previously a preview could be generated via a "Preview .pdf" button before generating the .pdf, but I found that 'Preview' function to be unreliable in V17 and later versions.

I hope to attach cropped screenshots to illustrate.
  7. With Windows 10, it seems "All you want" is provided. 1. Cloud: Evernote does store everything in the cloud. 2. Tray: On start, Evernote puts an icon in the task bar 'Hidden Icons' tray (an elephant icon). 3. Quick: Click Tray icon (shortcut Alt+Ctrl+H) to create a quick note, where there is a 'Convert to Note' button (image attached). 2a. Auto start: I don't have Evernote auto start, but I'm sure I could do that in Windows.
  8. Ticket #3438021 has now been submitted; thanks for your prompt. Updated 01/11/2022: The same (failing) result occurs using Alt+Ctrl+S in EN V10 on Windows 11, which starts the Windows Snipping Tool and does not hand off a Screenclip to Evernote.
  9. Screen Capture (I believe that's the EN name) on Windows 11 is not working for me, as posted by Gilvan to start this thread. In my case, "not working" means that the Windows Snipping Tool launches when I click the Evernote icon in the System Tray, then click the Screen Capture icon inside the Evernote pop-up window. From that point the Windows Snipping Tool will let me do a Screenclip (I believe that is the Windows name) and let me Save the Screenclip, but does not hand that Screenclip off to Evernote - - V10, by the way.
  10. That is a terrific thread linked by "r. m" - full of ideas, options, debate, some frustration, give, and take. Maybe it wanders off topic from some perspective, but I read it as circling the general topics of Evernote tips, tricks, and productive usage.
  11. Thanks Mike P for this post. I wasn't sure I believed you, but I verified it on Evernote Windows App v10.25.6. First, the use of a numbered list is brilliant for the reasons you mention. Second, I had not realized that copy/paste would LINK the ToC note content back to the original notes: Select multiple notes / right-click within the selection / choose 'Copy internal links' ... 'Copy app links'. Then go to the ToC note and simply paste, getting LINKS rather than simple text. P.S. Credit agsteele for pointing out that 'Copy app links' has the Windows shortcut Alt+Ctrl+L also. I thought copy/paste was just going to produce text, a massive downgrade from the old 'Create ToC' function. But you showed me it can be an upgrade. : -) Thank you.
  12. Available! -> Evernote Windows client "Export as .pdf" with "Preview .pdf" option. I found this not as part of "Print" but via an "Export as .pdf" function within the 3-dot menu while working with a note. After selecting "Export ..." a window appeared with a button option to "Preview .pdf". That preview opened directly in Adobe Acrobat Reader for me. I'm very happy to see this in client v10.17.6 downloaded earlier in July, 2021, and now v10.17.8 downloaded July 24, 2021.
  13. Available! -> Evernote Windows client "Export as .pdf" with "Preview .pdf" option. After selecting "Export ..." a window appeared with a button option to "Preview .pdf". That preview opened directly in Adobe Acrobat Reader for me. I don't know if this produces exactly what Kim Korn (@Kim Korn) described as a "fully functioning PDF" in the origination of this topic, but I'm soooo very happy to see this in client v10.17.6 downloaded earlier in July, 2021, and now v10.17.8 downloaded July 24, 2021.
  14. I very much support Kim Korn's original post that .pdf creation by Evernote 10 on Windows is completely unsavory. I have the same results as Kim and others by using the printer "Microsoft Print to PDF." Kim was quite clear and forthcoming with the problem description and the resulting impact. Simply put, Evernote 10 for Windows removed the "Print to .pdf" option as well as the highly valued "Print Preview" option that also generated a .pdf. Both functions need to be restored. It is wrong to receive the answer "It works on the Mac," and direct users to "find other options" for Kim. (Stacey) It is wrong to turn this issue into "It may be the Nuance" print function. (others) It is wrong to suggest that the solution is to find/use an app that will OCR scan the Evernote-generated ".pdf." (others) Please take this problem seriously and fix it, not deflect it to be one that Evernote user's should handle by switching to the Mac, by using other print functions, and/or by adding steps to the work process that worked well using Evernote 6 for Windows. Sorry if my tone seems harsh. I am following this topic because I have similar concerns as Kim. It is quite distressing that the topic has quickly drifted away from fixing a problem for users and instead blaming the user and other tools for not being able to overcome this difficulty that Evernote 10 has caused.
  15. I'll add my voice: Print Preview [as .pdf] was a huge productivity benefit, as one cannot predict the appearance on a page of Evernote fonts, tables, etc. Please bring it back.
