About James Mayes

  1. I guess the Penultimate team didn't get a copy of Phil's blog post from January. "On Software Quality and Building a Better Evernote in 2014" - http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2014/01/04/on-software-quality/. And yes...there is another forum just like this one with an equal number of complaints about the latest version of Evernote and issues with data loss there too. I'm really curious to know who the beta testers were that liked this release. For so many users, old and new, to demand so many fixes (really just putting what was existing functionaliy back into the product) so quickly after the release and for EN to agree and release updates so quickly makes me question the processes and people in place at EN. Maybe the people are the same ones who released Windows 8 at Microsoft. Seriously though, EN needs to work much harder at protecting not only user data but also user confidence. We trusted EN. That trust has taken a major hit. I'm sorry isn't enough.
  2. Back in January, CEO Phil Libin wrote a blog post "On Software Quality and Building a Better Evernote in 2014" - http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2014/01/04/on-software-quality/. I realize this is a Penultimate post, but it's an Evernote product. So if the focus in 2014 was to improve software quality, how does this release get out when it's so obviously flawed? The Evernote app is having an equal number of issues lately with note titles disappearing, attachments that you can drag into a black hole, etc. I've been a long time Evernote user and gave up on another note taking app to use Penultimate when Evernote purchased it because of the integration. I'm hoping I didn't make the wrong choice. It would be painful to switch from Evernote to another solution. I still don't understand why Penultimate is a separate app. It should be integrated into Evernote so we can take notes directly in EverNOTE instead of having to switch back and forth.
  3. Same experience here on 6.0.2 on Mac. Dragged the attachment and all of sudden it was gone. Not in trash. Opening a ticket in hopes that it can be found since it was something I scanned in and then shredded. Edit: Updated to 6.0.3 and the behavior is the same. (I backed up the attachment first this time so I wouldn't lose it!)
