  1. For those who are, like me, disgusted by the uselessness of version 6 (and 6.0.1) there is a way to return to your previous version. It will only be open to you if you have iTunes on your mac (or PC) and access to an older version of the app. I had to go back through my time machine backups to get to a previous decent version (5.3.1 I think) that was backed up the day before the update debacle. This last point is key, I think, as if you have a very old version backed up it might not have all of your most recent notebooks saved. In saying that, I'm actually not sure if Penultimate stores anything locally, but it's a bit of a moot point for me, as I sync with Evernote (lucky me), so I have backups of the notebooks stored on the Evernote servers. Anyway, I sourced the 5.3.1 penultimate.ipa file and saved it to my desktop. Then, after switching off "automatic updates" on my iPad I deleted the crappy 6.0.1 version. Then I opened up iTunes, went to the apps library and dropped in the old version of Penultimate on to iTunes. Then I connected the iPad to my MacBook, opened up iTunes, selected the iPad, clicked on the Apps tab and scrolled to the older version of penultimate, which gave me the option to install it, which I did... Once it had synced I launched Penultimate 5 and, after a while it had synced with Evernote and my old notebooks were there. I DID however lose a notebook that I had been fiddling with the new 6.0.1 version, but 11 out of 12 notebooks wasn't too bad. Not sure if any of the above would work for someone who does not sync with Evernote???? I hope this is helpful to others. I'm going to hang on to my older version until this is cleared up, or, if not, I'll migrate to another App. Evernote need to sort this out, and quickly, or I'll be cancelling my monthly subscription...
