  1. Nice idea. Didn't work for me. OK, I'll try that. Nope, didn't work. Yes, that one worked ! Thank you so much Matt. Using Win11, I had the problem on my main Evernote window, just after accepting an update on the software. I had never experienced anything like this, so clearly linked directly to that update to : 10.47.7-win-ddl-public (3730) Editor: v159.2.19536 Service: v1.59.4 © 2019 - 2022 Evernote Corporation. 2. You definitely can. It was possible (although quite cumbersome) to do that using Filterize. But now filterize is out of business.
  3. You seem to be upset from something I wrote. Sorry, I did not mean to offend you.
  4. Well, I'm not avoiding anything. I have a bit less than 20,000 notes for a bit more than 15 GB, so not far from 1MB/note on average. Many of them are long notes with a lot of texts and pictures - eg my notes from trainings (including screenshots), professional email newsletters that I need to keep, ...
  5. Hi agsteel. No, my issue is not related to workflow. Unless workflow means "opening the app". My issue is that I cannot spend a full minute on a phone showing a blank screen with a green elephant for a full minute every time I open Evernote on my Android phone or on my iPhone. At this stage, Evernote (which has been center to my work for more than 6 years) has become for me a PC-only application. When I really need to take notes with my phones, I do it with Google Keep and have to copy and paste the content in Google Keep into Evernote when I'm back on my laptop. And I take offense that the only solution proposed by Evernote is "just buy another $1000 phone" (actually 2 in my case, since I need to have both an Android and an iPhone). My views are in my post on another thread.
  6. Thanks Gazumped. As a matter of fact, I am using the legacy version on Desktop. Why is it so complicated to get the legacy version on iphone? Also using the legacy version is by definition a temporary fix, not a long-term solution. More on my views/story in my post on another thread.
  7. I agree there is a major performance issue with Evernote across all platforms. It's been there for at least a year. It applies to all platforms. I'm sorry to say I've reached the point where I have no more confidence that the EN team will fix it. It's unfortunate my subscription has renewed a few weeks ago, I paid for a year but will use it just for a tenth of that. Too bad, in any case I will now move on. On a win10 laptop with i7, 16GB RAM, SSD, I get terribly poor performance on the "new" Win10 app. So bad that I have to keep using the legacy version (which works great). Anyway, I didn't like the new Win10 app, not just look and feel but also ergonomics (eg: I routinely change the date of creation of a note of a scanned document. It's cumbersome to do that on the new app, but very easy on the legacy app). On an old iphone 7, EN is so slow that it is unusable. Also does not sync stuff correctly. Some notes/pictures I took on the iphone 6 weeks ago are still not sync'ed. They are important documents that I will lose because EN support has no solution to get them back when they're stuck in this sync limbo (only solution is uninstall and reinstall, and loose unsync'ed notes in the process). A couple of years ago, EN worked great on that same iphone 7. Why is it so bad now while I am using the exact same features that I used 5 years ago? On a Samsung Note10, EN is so slow that it is unusable. I have done a couple of videos to send to EN suppport: after a fresh start, with no other apps in the background, EN takes 55 to 65 seconds to just open. That's a full minute staring at nothing but a green elephant icon on your phone. Unacceptable. In addition, the Android app now seem to suffer from the same issues of notes stuck in "sync limbo" (green corner with sync icon stays on the note). I read that the only actual solution on this thread is to buy more powerful devices. It seems Evernote strategy is to believe they are in the same situation as Intel and Microsoft in the 80s and 90s, where you just had to buy the latest hardware to be able to use the latest WinOS and Office suite. That is a major mistake from Evernote, they are not in the same situation as Microsoft. Even Microsoft today is no more in the same situation as Microsoft in the 90s. There is no legitimate reason an app like Evernote can argue for the new version of their app so dramatically under-performing older versions. Especially after the management change a few years back who sent us emails explaining they had to rewrite the entire code-base. When you rewrite the code-base, it's to improve performance, not decrease it. My iphone 7 is still in great shape for the use I have, all the apps (except EN) work exactly like I need them to. That's why I still have that phone. I'll buy a new iphone when I break the current one, and only for that reason. Not because the developers of Evernote tell me "sorry, we don't know how to code properly, just spend a thousand buck on a new phone whenever we tell you to". It does not make sense it terms of business strategy: everybody in the world will have more and more devices, but those who pay regularly for the high-end devices are and will stay a minority. If EN wanted to become the go-to business/semi-business app of the future, they need to have a version that works on the majority of phones today. The majority of phones today are NOT iphone 12s or 13s or Samsung S21s. Heck, just look at Facebook, who bothered to develop a "Facebook lite" app to work on even lower-end phones. I chose EN because it was the only fully cross-platform system. But if cross- platform means "any device, as long as you buy the latest and most expensive one every 2 years", it's no more cross-platform. If Evernote management and developers don't understand that, this app has no future with me.
  8. Hi Luk77 and Gazumped, I'm in the same situation as Luk77. As Gazumped suggested I will post a note to Evernote support (I'm a paid subscriber). But that's just for principle, for me Evernote is now broken beyond repair. So I'm actually interested not by Evernote support (not any more), but by other users. Which platform would they move to, how did they handle the change? So this user's forum is probably a good start for this. Would any of you have a recommendation for me?
  9. Lucky you. It doesn't work for me. That's kind of the reason why I posted here... Thanks for having an opinion and making sure the world knows it FYI, when people come here to mention a feature does not work, they certainly might appreciate a proposal for a work-around. But some might take offense at a suggestion that "if they were serious, they wouldn't use that feature".
  10. June 2020 - I have the same problem as previous posters (evernote search works only with one word, not multiple words).
  11. I have the same error. Copied a bunch of pictures, and used the "Paste to Evernote" feature. It created a title concatenating the filenames of all the file, without any issue or warning. Then I tried to change the title, by adding at the beginning "copied from folder XX" (and I did not bother to delete all the subsequent filenames). Now my evernote is stuck in an endless loop. I will have to force shut the app. I use Win10 N Education v2004, and Evernote 6.24. Do you know where I can report this bug?
  12. Is there any update on this list of differences from 2016? I have just set up a new computer, and got EN from the MS Store. It sure looks there are more differences than these. For instance, in the Store EN, I can't find the option to "launch EN at startup". And the app Icon has a white circle around the elephant. Thx.
  13. How can I disable this systematic warning ? "Change access. You are moving a note into "[NotebookName]". People this notebook is shared with will gain access to the note." Since the last version, every time I move a note to a shared notebook, I get this message. Only way to dismiss it is to click on "Move". Since I clip my notes first in my inbox, and then move them to whichever notebook is relevant - and all of my notebooks are shared, I get this warning literally all the time. This is both useless and annoying. It should have been pretty simple and pretty obvious to add a checkbox "don't warn again for this notebook". I'm a plus member with OSX + evernote 7.0.3.
