I've also been having this problem today, though I noticed that the syncing was severely intermittent: if I wait long enough a Sync takes place and everything is OK, but it's incredibly erratic. I'm not working on my usual Wifi, and internet speed isn't great, so my impression is that Evernote is failing to save or sync in any form with poor connection. All this talk of servers and syncing is very well, but one would expect not losing your work to be something that 'just happens'... if this is a widespread problem I'm puzzled as to how Evernote ever became so popular.
