EN Tasks is primarily an excellent addition of features to make notes actionable. In this context it is way superior to any other task manager.

All good if that works for you. Evernote (to me!) was and will forever be a long time archive and that's the way I'm using it: contracts, manuals, invoices, tips and tricks etc. Tasks are a completely different thing (and I'm using task manager VERY intensely!).

All the best to you and to Evernote, we had a great time!

You are still a couple of months out.

"A couple of month"? It's actually 5 weeks...and a price increase of almost 50% thas has been already decided would have been better to communicate to all affected people. At least that's the way I would hav expected it to be.

Concerning tasks: I was a a long time user of Todoist. Still the best task management and Evernote is GALAXIES behind. Even Apple reminders (and most other task managers) are much more capable so that's another bummer for me...

  3. Just my 2 cent - I am an Evernote user since 2009 and I use it for the things Evernote was originally invented for (second brain, long termin archive etc.). The stuff that was added (collaboration, work chat, tasks etc.) is of no use for me and yes: Apple notes is a very good alternative nowadays for this "basic" usage...and free, as long you're in the Apple ecosystem.

Nonetheless, I just wondered why the changed prices and didn't communicated it to the customers...my Plus subscription ends on the 2.1.23 and I just saw the increased price by coincidence. The price increase is almost 50%! 😳

All the best though for Evernote, was a big fan before!

  4. I still have the Plus-Scubscription for Evernote for 29,99€. In the Evernote account settings I see that the next subscription fee will be 43,99€ 😱 I didn't receive any notification for a price change though...?!

Does anyone know further details about that?

EDIT: Found it in their FAQ...the user will be notified (to whatever time) before they extend the subscription. OK, count me out, I switch to Apple Notes now.

As a Basic account, we will still have access to all our notes

    >>l'm looking for a way of exporting my notes (mostly PDFs) into a file system structured like my notebooks.

For data backups, I export my notes in html format; individual exports can be used for each notebook
Files are created for each note, including pdf attachments
The notes are readable by any file browser app

    Cool, that helped! 🙂

    Thanks a lot!

  6. Hi there!

After cutting off the Plus plan I fear that Evernote will cut it off for existing user as well someday. I will not upgrade to Premium so it's nice to have a Plan B for it.

As I'm using Evernote mostly for long-termin filing it's most obvious that a cloud-based file system will do most of the job as well. I'm using OneDrive (being a MS365 customer as well) and l'm looking for a way of exporting my notes (mostly PDFs) into a file system structured like my notebooks.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thank you very much! 🙂

  7. I've been using Evernote for 7 years now, in the last year I switched to the Plus subscription. Been very happy and yes, the increase of price annoys me. But at the end it's just 10€ more. 10€ a year, that's almost nothing.

Besides that: I really tried to switch to OneNote, several times by now. But honestly, OneNote isn't a competitor because it has a completely other focus and workflow. I use EN mailny for long time filing - invoices, contracts, correspondence, funny picture that I use in social networks etc. OneNote isn't for that, period.

And: the web clipping function of OneNote still sucks severely. Is it NOWHERE near the web clipper from Evernote.

So, bottom line: YES, I STICK. And I still love Evernote hoping that they succeed with this price model. I second the idea of a Basic Plus tier, not mandatory to me but to people that are complaing about the 2 device limit...
