  1. Thanks for responding. I googled "web clipper" and understand that it is an app for Evernote. Right? Not sure how I would use it to get it back to the format in which it was before it suddenly turned into a html format. Other notes that I have are still in the original format in which I am continue edit. Any leads on how to use "web clipper" or other way, much appreciated. Many thanks, Lotta

  3. Hi, According to @DTLow above (I tried to reply to your post but couldn't figure it out) - I can do a back-up of my Evernotes with using "Export selected notes". Can I save it on an external drive as well? I am not very tech savy so already feeling the cortisol rush simply by writing this :), imagining that I will get stuck. Also, why are you using HTML? Sorry for these basic questions. I have 100s of notes and now want to secure that I will not loose them and do a weekly back-up that is as easy as possible. And thinking that my HD on desktop would expload if I use it as my source for backup so prefer an external version. I am using Mac. Any sweet suggestions how to go about this. Many thanks, Lotta
  4. Hi, Suddenly I cannot see my notes on my desktop version. The notes are there (can see them in the web version) and I can also see the number of notes in each of the folder. It felt like I might have accidentally "sweaped" the screen using my mouse (using Mac). Anyone know how to make them visible to me again? Many thanks, Lotta

I write a lot in Evernote and want to be able to copy that text and paste into Pages (Mac) or any other document but it brings along all kinds of formatting that I don't understand where it gets it from. How can I copy and paste without this? As it is now it is useless and I need to re-write the whole thing. I must be missing something here :). Many thanks, Lotta
  6. I hope it is all right for me to join this thread with my question, if not, simply ignore :). I am on a different knowledge level so need to ask some basic questions to find a solution. To capture and store on Evernote (premium) I use the web version (mac) and iphone. My question is: Do I need a back-up? I thought that using the web version means that is already backed up in the cloud, somewhere, somehow ... If I do need to do a back-up, how would I do that? And where would you recommend? You also talk about 'local database' - Is this the HD on the computer? Why would you want to do that? Many thanks and happy Friday, Lotta
  7. Hi again! I have the same issue. I am now using EN premium and I realized that with this membership, EN offers a business scanning function that does exactly this. Sorry if this does not help those who do not have a premium account. But I just saw that you can get this function for free for a year if you link your LinkedIn account and EV - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005777 This function, scanning and then picking up LinkedIn information automatically is fantastic.   8. Dear community, I would like to know how different signs can be used to sort notes, i.e. making sure that they show up first. What is the order of different signs? From a bit of trial and error, I have found, for example, that '!' comes before '.' and '*'. Is there a list of how these signs are arranged? Apart from that I order notes using 1. 2. and so on, but sometimes (when I am working on something) I would like to pull up notes in the order by adding a sign infront that then changes the order.   9. Same here. I looked at a tutorial and when scanning a business card, the contact is supposed to come automatically. But mine reads 'scannable document', not the name of the contact. Evernote, hello? Warmest, Lotta
  10. Hi all! I am really going bonkers with this highlight issue. The short-cut 'ctrl + cmd + H' works in some cases, in others not. If I have a note that I have opened and written in my self there is a highlighter function easy to use - small pen symbol. If the note is a PDF or a word document (using mac) that I have downloaded and 'saved' in EN, it doesn't work most of the time. No sure if it ever worked in PDF. Is it not possible to use highlighter in PDF and word documents? Anyone experiencing the same, and have suggestions on what I am doing wrong. Huge thank you! Lotta
