  1. Mike P's post in How to access this format of text? was marked as the answer
I think you are refering to the "inline code" feature. Simply enclose the text in backticks -  `inline code`.
For a full list of features use ctrl+/

  2. Mike P's post in Evernote doesn't update the note image in the notes list. was marked as the answer
My experience is that it will eventually update although it is definitely not instantaneous. Sometimes closing the app fully (file 🢂 Quit Evernote) and opening it again does the trick. If you find a note never updates, you can duplicate or copy the note and that should force the thumbnail to update.
  3. Mike P's post in Change criteria for a saved search was marked as the answer
Make sure you have deleted the saved search not just the shortcut to it.
  4. Mike P's post in The New Web Client has autoformating :-( was marked as the answer
There is no way of stopping the markdown conversion, but backspace will remove it each time
I suppose you could use a code box as this only has plain text.
  5. Mike P's post in Rules you can use to create effective tags and find what you need was marked as the answer
Some special tags. I have some tags that describe the type of note (paper, my notes, reading list, blog article etc)  . Each of them begins with a +. I can then quickly check whether I have filed something (with the tag "R") but forgotten to add a "type of note" tag.
    tag:R -tag:+*
  6. Mike P's post in Disable quick note shortcut of ctrl+alt+h ? was marked as the answer
It's "Open Evernote Helper" which is clearly Alt+ctrl+H on your screen shot.
If you hover over the elesphant icon the icon changes to three dots and you can change or disable it

  8. Mike P's post in Can't add Notes to tasks on Android 13 was marked as the answer
The design rationalle of Tasks, as I understand it, is that you add a task to a note not vice versa. If you need to associate extra information with a task then that should be in the note.in which the task lives. Remember that every task in EN sits in a note. They are not the free-standing separate entities that you might have in a "traditional" task management app.
This approach obviously has strengths and weaknesses. It's great for projects, meeting notes etc where there is an obvious note for the task to live in. However, it requirres some thought about how you want to manage one off and routine tasks. Attempting to put everything in the "default tasks note" is probably not a good idea - I use it for quick one off tasks and as a holding area for tasks I've quickly added but need to move (a kind of inbox I suppose). There is no reason why you can't have just one task in a note if you want to.

  9. Mike P's post in Manipulate (i.e. manually change) date of a note? was marked as the answer
You can still change the creation date through the note information screen. You cannot change the update date.
  10. Mike P's post in How to export all the PDF attachments from multiple notes in a single go was marked as the answer
There is no direct option. However if If you export as html you will get an html file and a folder in the same directory containing all the attachments. This will include the pdfs.
  11. Mike P's post in Strange behaviour when searching or filtering was marked as the answer
Seems to be solved by 10.60.4

  12. Mike P's post in Why won't Evernote start? was marked as the answer
In the past I have had various lurking EN processes that have prevented me from opening EN. So you could either reboot or open task manager and see if there are EN processes running in the background. If there are you can just kill them.
  13. Mike P's post in Working with New Evernote after switching from the Legacy version was marked as the answer
    1. Use the v next to the tag to access the menu as shown:

2, Depends which tag tree you mean! You can't have it display in the side bar tag tree. The best option is to open the tag filter where selected tags have a tick. However if you colapse nested tags you can't see them in the nest only at the top.

    3. Go to the shortcut menu. Help 🢂 keyboatd shortcuts and disable it

    5. Use coloured emojis

  14. Mike P's post in Add new note button - Feature Request was marked as the answer
Currently the new note is added to the current notebook if you are in a notebook or to your default notebook if you are in "Notes" (that includes most searches). Look at the top of the note list to know where you are. If you want to choose where the note is created you just have to go to the notebook first.

  15. Mike P's post in Where are my templates? was marked as the answer
Open gallery. There is a tab for my templates

It is annoying that the add more feature only allows you to add a small selection of EN's own templates.
  16. Mike P's post in Hyperlink opens in the web application instead of the local app was marked as the answer
You can add either type of links using the desktop app.

If you use the keyboard shortcut you should always get the internal link.
If you hover over the link and press edit it should be immediately obvious whether it will open as a weblink or as an internal link - does it start with evernote:/// or https://?
If it looks like an internal link but is opening in the web browser there is obviously something strange going on - try pasting the link into the windows Run command (<Windows key> + R) and see if that opens in the desktop app - it should.
  17. Mike P's post in Is there a way to see the url of a web clip that I sent to EN v10 windows? was marked as the answer
    Lazy is good!
Webclipper has little talked about keyboard shortcuts of it's own (open webclipper, hit the gear wheel and then the shortcuts tab for a complete (modifiable) list). Works well provided the focus is not on a field where you can input text (e.g. the address bar). So
`m Opens webclipper and opens the screen shot page. If you just want the whole page without any annotations you just need to follow it by
    <enter><enter>
  18. Mike P's post in Creating Templates - no tags was marked as the answer
An alternative is to just completely bypass the EN template system which is generally buggy at the best of times (creating templates is not working at all for me at the moment). Create a templates notebook and put your templates in there. To use them right click and choose copy or duplicate.

This certainly didn't use to be the case. I can't test at the moment as I seem unable to create a template at all. Are you updating the header before you save the template?

  19. Mike P's post in REQUEST: add "Copy Notebook Name" to pop-up menu on Notebooks was marked as the answer
I don't really understand this. When I start search from a notebook I get the option to choose where I search - the default is alwys the notebook I'm in.

When I run the search the results are clearly just for that notebook and not all notes, as shown by the blue lozenge at the top of the search results

If I want to search a stack the easiest way is to filter by the stack first using the filter menu - don't know why stacks don't behave the same as notebooks in this respect. You could of course use the advanced search syntax.

I agree with the live search but that text is not lost so you can always modify it after you have pressed enter.
If you search "Notes" there is a live search of sorts but this doesn't work if you have selected a notebook.

The V10 and V6 search experiences are definitely different - I have had to adapt my way of searching but I think I can now find stuff pretty efficiently.
  20. Mike P's post in Cannot edit text in HTML frame was marked as the answer
Click on the grey bar at the top of the frame. Click the magic wand symbol. You can't edit an unsimplified form of the html.

  21. Mike P's post in Using initial words in Tasks as tags or labels, priority levels, next action designation was marked as the answer
I use $ as a prefix for all my "task tags" which works well. I also use emojis for things like priority

I have hotstrings for red, amber and green circles in AutoHotKey to make it even easier.
    ..r = 🔴 ..a = 🟠 ..g = 🟢
  22. Mike P's post in I want to change the font color when the checkbox is checked was marked as the answer
You can also opt in settings to not have it strikethrough if that helps.

  23. Mike P's post in Tag Stack was marked as the answer
I'm sure you are aware that you can already create a hierarchy for tags.

If you choose a tag, look for the down arrow next to the tag name in the blue lozenge at the top of the notelist. You can then include all subtags

Unfortunately, it looks as though if you save the search to include sub-tags it is then counted as a "Boolean Search" and therefore needs a professional membership.

  24. Mike P's post in Managing Tags and Tag hierarchies was marked as the answer
For general ideas about improvement there is a share feedback option available from the Help menu

If you are a paying customer you can also raise a support request https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new:
For me, most of the value oif these forums is having other users point out different, and often novel, ways of getting round a problem that I can implement now, rather than wait for EN to do something about it (if they ever do). Sadly mass organisation of tags is one of those things that really is not possibl in V10 and does need to be done in legacy.
  25. Mike P's post in Use of the 'any' advanced search operator was marked as the answer
Yes that works, except I note you have left out the colon after any which is either a typo or the reason you are not getting the expected results!
