I was intrigued to try the new Home as well! While we're waiting for it to be fully released, I did discover by searching for my favorite feature, scratch pad, that we already have that one. In Windows you can get it by clicking the elephant in the "show hidden icons" system tray or with Ctrl + Alt + H. I know there's a way in Mac too, which you can find by searching "scratch pad" in help. FWIW
