Thanks for your replies regarding this issue. Adjusted the settings as suggested and now the alerts are loud and clear without being in the app.👌

I set up a note with an alert on my Android phone but didn’t receive the alert. I later went to the Evernote app to investigate and it sounded the alert sound after I opened the app. Am I to understand that I will only get the alert sound when the app is open or am I missing the obvious?
