About Dave Sharkman

  1. I'm just starting to experiment with the Evernote business card scan functionality. One of the problems I've encountered is that it turns on the LCD flash light to illuminate the business card. This is probably fine for matte stock paper, but with a glossy surface (as my card was), the LCD flash would reflect onto the scanned card image, creating a white spot in the scan and obliterating portions of the text, reducing the OCR accuracy. I managed to cover my finger over the light (but not the lens), which helped somewhat, but I would prefer if one could either choose to turn off the LCD light and use ambient lighting or just have it off altogether.
