Ticket# 1990313 opened with EN. Will provide updates to this thread as I find out more about:

    1. Why this functionality has yet to be implemented after multiple years of requests / demands.

    2. Why the EN development team fails to acknowledge this on the forums. It is a clear oversight on their part and they fail to acknowledge it.

    3. Over the past year, what other features / patches took higher precedence than implementing the request for Find / Replace.

    4. A true date on when Find / Replace will be implemented on the Mac.

As a support team, we always welcome feedback and requests for features, and pass these along to the development and management teams. We understand Find & Replace is a feature a lot of users want, and our development team is aware of this as well. While the dev team doesn't always have time to reply to feature request threads, your votes do have an impact on what they discuss for future implementation. However, feature requests are just that, requests. We do not promise to add requested features.

The Customer Support team does not have the ability to give you additional information behind why the development team has not implemented this as a feature, because we don't work behind the scenes to understand exactly what kind of manpower is needed to do so. We also do not share our timeline for the release of future feature additions.

  2. Hi y'all,

If you're trying to update the email address associated with your Evernote account but are receiving a message that the email is already in use, use the following steps to swap the email addresses:

    1. Sign in to the account with your desired email address at https://www.evernote.com. If the account has been deactivated, you can reactivate it here.
    2. Change the email address on that account to something not currently associated with another Evernote account (this will free up the use of your desired email address). If you don't have an additional email address to add to this account, or you do not wish to use one of your additional email addresses, I suggest using a service such as 10 Minute Mail.
    3. Sign out then sign in to your primary account
    4. Change the email address to your desired email address

Let me know if you have any questions!

  3. Hi y'all,

I apologize for any inconvenience this is causing. Our development team is currently in the process of investigating this issue. Unfortunately I don't have an ETA for when a fix will be released, but will post back once we get updated information.

Thank you for your patience while the dev team gets this sorted out.

  4. @alienbogey,

Notes that have been recently accessed in the iOS Evernote app are stored in the iPhone's cache. This is why you are sometimes able to access notes while offline, as @DTLow mentioned above. The iOS device will push content out of the cache as it sees necessary, to make room for other content that has been recently accessed. This is not something we are able to control, though we do offer the ability to designate notebooks as offline with the paid subscriptions for users who need to be able to access notes/notebooks when disconnected from wifi or a cellular network. For clarity, the ability to designate notebooks as offline has never been a Basic feature, this was not taken away from Basic users.

  5. Hi @alienbogey,

Offline notebooks for mobile devices are only available for Plus and Premium Evernote subscribers. Because the notes aren't actually downloaded to the mobile device, you will not be able to access them without an internet connection unless you upgrade your account and designate the notebooks as offline. You can, however, access your notebooks when offline using a computer with the downloaded Evernote application installed.

When annotating a PDF that is embedded in a note, the highlight option only provides access to free-hand highlighting. This results in messy highlights and doesn't really fulfill the needs of the tool.

Is there any way to simply highlight text that has been selected?

    Hey @seanuoft,

You should be able to highlight in a straight line by holding the Shift key down on your keyboard while highlighting text. Hope that helps!

A reasonable person would have also recognized that you are a moron who apparently cannot fathom the fact that a product roadmap can change significantly over the course of 7 years (since that initial Evernote response).

Please refrain from name-calling. Thank you! :)

  8. @Kmurz - If none of your typical password combinations allow you to get into the account, our Technical Support Team may be able to help you recover the information if you had previously synced that account to the downloaded Evernote application on your computer. Let me know!

@amelia19 - Because email addresses are our only means of identifying a user, we aren't able to send recovery password emails to any email address not associated with the account. If the email address is no longer valid and the password has been forgotten, the only way to recover content from an account is if you had synced the account to the downloaded desktop application or if you have a backup of the content.

  9. Hi @MrGilbert,

There is not a way to manually choose which image in a note is displayed in the snippet; Evernote will choose the image with the largest smallest dimension.

For example, if you have 3 images with the following dimensions:

    75x100
    100x400
    200x300

The "smallest" dimensions are 75, 100, and 200, respectively. We're going to use the image with the largest of those "smallest" dimensions (i.e., 200).

The only way to "choose" which image is shown in the snippet is to manipulate the dimensions of the photo using a third party application.

  10. Hey y'all,

It looks like a lot of you are interested in Markdown support, so I've moved this thread to our product feedback forum so y'all can vote on this. You can vote by clicking the arrows at the top of the thread, to the left of the thread title. Happy voting!
