  1. Perhaps I'm not being clear. I want to Copy multiple notes. I can select lots of notes. Once selected I can Move, Edit Tags, Merge, Add to Shortcuts, Copy Internal Links, Print, or Move to Trash. Neither Copy or Copy To are listed as options. I'd love to be wrong and have you tell me just exactly how to do that. I've looked. And every time an update comes around, the first thing I do is select a couple of notes to see if Copy has been added. Nothing yet. So I keep going back to the Legacy version when I want to copy multiple notes. Again, that is usually when I want to copy lots and lots of notes.

  2. I totally agree that we should be able to copy multiple notes at a time. I have created two notebooks to help other crafters who buy the same product line keep track of the products we buy. I share two notebooks with a lot of people. In fact, Evernote has a limit of sharing with 500 people or less and I have exceeded that limit. I now need to keep two copies of each notebook. When the product line introduces a new catalog, I make notes for all the new products and move the notes for retiring products to the other shared notebooks. I prepare these notes in advance so when the catalogs are released to the public, I can easily move all the notes for the new products into the shared notebooks. If there are 300 new products and 300 retiring products, that means I need to move 1200 notes. I rely on the Legacy version of Evernote to do that so I can do it in a few minutes. It will take me hours to do it with the current version of Evernote.

Evernote is clearly getting more aggressive about moving people away from the Legacy version. I seriously dread the day the Legacy version is no longer an option. I hope you can imagine all the angry thoughts I will have as I spend all that time moving the 1200 notes one by one.

  3. I'm actually the person sharing the note. I share my notebook with a lot of people, many of whom are note tech savvy. I share View only, but encourage people to share. I've found that works best on a computer. When others are working on ipads and tablets, their experiences seem to vary. I know duplication has worked on ipads, at least in the past, but that may have been on the old version of Evernote. One person recently shared that she was having problems on an Android tablet. Can you tell me if "Duplication" would work for her?

  4. When I try to save a search (in a particular notebook plus 1 tag) I get a message that it already exists.  I believe I used to have a saved search for that, but it no longer appears in the app (Windows 10.52.8), the Legacy Version (Windows 6.25.2.9198), Android phone, or the online version. I do seem to be able to add new shortcuts.  I can save it with a different name.

I share my notebooks and I frequently help people learn how to use Evernote, sharing my screen on Zoom. It often helps to recreate the steps. Having a saved search exist without being able to use it makes this difficult. I now know that I should do this with a search I don't really want in the future. But is there a way to bring back those missing saved searches?

It’s not obvious, but pretty simple:

Select the notes you want to copy

From the little menu, choose the 3 dots, select export

An ENEX file is created on your computer, holding a copy of all these notes

Double Click the ENEX file. This will create a new notebook named after the ENEX file name, holding the notes you wanted to copy

Use them - they are regular notes, full copies of the ones selected for export before

  6. The old feature that has still not been added to the new 10.whatever is the ability to copy more than one note at a time. I love the new version, but I frequently need to copy multiple notes, so I keep returning to the Legacy version. Is it possible for this feature to be added to the new version?

  7. I share two of my notebooks with over 300 people. I share View Only but have always encouraged others to copy my notes to their own notebooks. The update had really messed things up for the way we've used it.

    • First, many people have lost connection with my notebooks. Evernote shows me they are connected, but my notebooks don't show up on their end. I have had to disconnect and reconnect them. This is a time consuming nuisance and frustrating, but at least I can do something about it.
    • People sharing my notebooks are now not able to copy my notes. This is a critical flaw, in  my opinion.
    • Several people have had difficulty downloading the Legacy version, so that's not even working for us.

With the Help Chat turned off, no one seems to be able to help me. I've sent emails and answers come back days later and unresponsive to my questions.

I've always been very happy with Evernote. I understand the need to update. I love that the app now looks and works the same on Macs and Windows. But losing critical (at least in our usage) features is unbelievable.

Is there anyone that can help me?

  8. If I understand correctly, Conduit works as a middle man between the data bases and the user interface. I share a notebook with a lot of people, some of them have no experience with Evernote or sharing files. One of my frustrations is helping these people over the phone. I know how to do things with my Windows PC, but their Mac or iPad look and in some ways function differently. I Does this mean that Evernote will look the same on all believe they can all do the same things. This Behind the Scenes video explains why they are different and now I understand better why it's difficult to make them the same.

Does this new Conduit system mean that soon my friends on their Macs and iPads will begin to see the same things I see on my PC?
