Please consider visual accessibility before making the light/dark changes permanent!  Having individual control based on each person's vision's needs is important.

I've been waiting for a light sidebar for ages! Quiet happy with this UI. Certainly needs some improvement but I home it will stay that way!

Unfortunately it went back to the old version but I opted to be included in the beta test.
