  1. The latest update in the windows client is nice I agree with mmmore that the ability to resize is great unfortunately I have had to re do all my previously created notes containing tables. I had a series of notes with two column tables to fill in each job I do but I discovered that if I try to copy and paste into a, right column, cell it put the text I was moving into either the row below or outside the table. Similarly if I just tried to type something new in the right column of the table Irksome But now I've re done using tables in evernote them I cannot change the borders but at least the typing in works
  2. I create the table in word and then copy and paste it I find easier to format it in work rather than excel
  3. 1 Pedro S said "The new Scannable app is amazing and makes bulk scanning email cards almost magical" Bulk scanning? I find this the worst bit. I regularly scan receipts as I am self employed and want them as separate notes. If I try to do this with Scannable it is really painful. I scan one receipt then have to save it then come out of the application then go back in and scan another receipt, then come out of the application et cetera et cetera. With the camera I scan save scan save etc 2 Re the business cards doing the Linkedin thing (this is the feature I paid to go premium to get) If you scan business catds cards individually using the Evernote camera it used to give you the option of connecting via LinkedIn. not sure if it does now. In closure I do wonder why Scannable was developed? The older system with the camera seemed more straightforward and it sent a Linkedin link request automatically. Now using Scannable it is slower and does not send a LinkedIn link Is Evernote going to sub contract Scannable out to generate a new revenue stream perhaps?
  4. Thanks some good ideas i'll get experimenting over the weekend
  5. I create a "Work in progress" note per job I work on This contains certain items client's name, address, details of the job etc. most importantly "what I am waiting on" this could be " get design brief", "cad drawings", "client approval of quote" etc. This changes as the job progresses at least daily if not more frequently I would love to be able to have this on my contents page so I can see what I'm waiting on at a glance and if required click the link to go to that job's Work in progress note I can create a table of contents easily so I have a list of all my jobs in one place but what I cannot do is add to this the "What I'm waiting on" for each job. I've tried copying and pasting but that won't auto update. I thought I could create a hyperlink to that text but that defeated me. Is what I'm trying to achieve possible?

  7. Thanks for replying I will try as you suggest with staggered tagging The idea for me of the postach.io portfolio type thing was Over the few (ahem) years I have been working I have accrued a lot of various qualifications and tickets and I wanted one place to keep them all. The ones employers in my field want to see is CV then the qualifications by type. i.e. my health and safety ones together then my rigging quals together etc. Yes Linkedin might seem more elegant but that's hardly a repository for a great deal of certificates I do have it all printed out but it's more convenient for all concerned to have them on-line. Anyway thanks again I'll have a go at the tagging thing
  8. I use Evernote on my Mac, on my Ipad and on my PC at work all with the latest updates I use Evernote to create resources for my team. When I want to make a table of contents it does so in the notes order in that notebook I use Postach.io to create my on-line portfolio and it displays them on-line in the order the notes are in the notebook Most of the time that's lovely However there are occasions when I want things in a specific order e.g. in my portfolio first CV then Passport then driving license then IOSH etc. I don't want them alphabetically or by date created/ modified and It looks a bit semi-pro to number them. Similarly with a contents page I might want site map then, technical specifications then crew duties Is it possible to do a manual sort in a notebook?
  9. Thanks I'll have a go tomorrow Hope I can persuade our IT dept to let me do it
  10. Home now and no duplication present on the Mac is it a windows thing mmmmm
  11. I use Evernote on my Mac at home and on my pc at work both with the desktop client installed I saw a great you tube by Jim Scano called "Evernote and GTD" and that suggested tags and subtasks I did this at home and organized all my notes Now I am at work but I see that all my tags have duplicated! (see attachment) I tried to delete one of my duplicated tags but on the other half of the duplication suddenly the number that show the number of notes with that tag went to zero plus I cannot delete it? I quickly re tagged my notes that were in the tag I deleted But I still cant delete that duplicate tag Any ideas?
  12. I'm now back to adding the date on the note name The bonus is I can name it how I think of dates - being a brit which is (for example) 21/07/2014 Plus I can use that text to search for a note by date now by typing it in as I think of it (as long as it's in speech marks) I can also do the created last month, last year, last week thing too Bonus Every cloud has a silver lining
  13. Thanks seems a shame you cannot just say a date rather than specify a range never mind
  14. Success! At least found the solution sorry I cannot copy a link that will work into this message it's an article by Brooks Duncan where he says you can only search for notes after a date if you want on a date you have to search created:20140712-created:20140714 which give you notes after 12 july but before 14 july
  15. I tried Gazumped's idea of switching on the search explanation bar helpful to know what I'm looking for If I do a search without the speech marks yes I am searching for and get notes created after the date shown (20140625) If I include the speech marks I get zero results as it is looking for the text 20140625 in the note
