This is an excellent suggestion! I’ll give it a try!

Thanks! I'll check it out, but it looks like it might be beyond my skill level... {:{)}

Thanks! I may have to resort to that if I can't get this notebook to export. Backuppery looks fairly inexpensive, so maybe that's my best bet.

I'm getting this same error message. Once a year I export all my notebooks to an external drive, as a safety backup.
I keep getting the failure above on some of the larger notebooks. But what is weird, is that let's say it fails at about 45% of the way through a particular notebook. I then go back to that same notebook and try again, and it ZIPS through to the 45% mark (where it failed the last time), and then SLOWLY starts ticking off the next notes.
It may fail several times, but it eventually gets through to the end.
But I have also noticed that the export process has become VERY slow. It always used to export really quickly, but I estimate that it now takes about five to ten times as long to export the same notebooks as it did the last time I did this process. And I have a faster computer now than I did then! So something is definitely up.
One of the notebooks has about 50,000 notes, and it's failing consistently around the 10-15% mark. It may take me forever to export, but I keep trying again and again...
Sigh...

This happened before I update iOS. But it may very well just have been me being impatient. I’ve just never seen it take THAT long before. And you’re right, a message that it was updating or something would have been helpful…

Well, never mind! Not sure if the server was down or what. But after an hour or so, it finally opened up and all appears normal. Just a glitch I guess!

Has anybody else experienced this today?
I opened Evernote on my iPad, and it froze on the opening screen (the black screen with the green elephant logo). And it stays stuck there.
I tried installing the new iOS update, with no luck. Also tried a restart of the iPad.
It also freezes in exactly the same way when I try to open Evernote on my other two iOS devices (an iPad and an iPhone).
I wondered if maybe I had a problem on my device, but since it’s exhibiting the same behavior on all of my iOS devices, I’m wondering…

The freezing bug bites me all the time too... I frequently have to just click out and go do something else, and come back to Evernote when things have thawed out. It's frustrating, but luckily, I don't often need to make a note while on a phone call or with a time crunch, so it's been tolerable. In cases where I need to, I resort to working on the iPad rather than the computer (I keep both open most of the time).
The worst of it is when I click in the search box and start typing. It pretty much ALWAYS freezes when I do that.
But my EverNote is kind of huge. I have about 65,000 notes and growing. I pretty much live in my Evernote, but I've had to create a lot of workarounds and deal with a lot of frustrations to deal with the freezing issue. I'd be so grateful if it could finally be addressed, even if that meant users having to rebuild a whole new individual note-based database...

I tried this, and got an error message saying it could not export notes with attachments without an internet connection… {:{(} Unfortunately, there are a lot of notes with attachments in the notebook I’m trying to export
