  1. Downgrade to the last functional version of Evernote before 8.
  2. .......what? If you did this on your own computer using your own iTunes, there's no way it could possibly know who "that user" is, or be connected to "that user" in any way. I have no idea what you could be referring to. The video worked for me using iTunes on my own computer.
  3. I actually was finally able to use the proxy workaround to download 7.18.1. The video here has helped: Also, the person in that video posted a link to the file in the description. SO much better. It's astonishing how they managed to ***** Evernote in version 8. Having been forced to use it for a few days, it's so nice to be back in 7.
  4. Would you be so kind as to provide me with the Evernote 7.18.1 ipa file so that I can downgrade (upgrade)?
  5. I tried that and the method unfortunately no longer works. The proxy exploit has been patched by Apple.
  6. I was able to restore my iphone entirely in iTunes so I got back 7.18.1 that way, but it was too late for my iPad. I'm still looking for the ipa file if anybody has it. iTunes doesn't seem to be copying the ipa files from my iphone for me.
  7. Evernote 8.0 is a steaming pile of garbage. I'd like to downgrade to the version that was available just prior, which is 7.18.1. Here are easy instructions. Thanks in advance to anybody that could provide this file. Please post here or PM me directly, as this thread will likely be deleted soon. How To Reinstall Older Version App For iPhone
  8. It's mind boggling that they buried tags under "account" then "settings". Tags are so fundamental to Evernote. This was clearly an idea by somebody who never uses Evernote. Even once I'm there, it's just a scrolling list of tags that I can look at. It provides no functionality. Ponderous!
  9. Saved searches are mostly broken (along with everything else) on version 8 iOS. If I touch on a saved search created prior to version 8, it says 0 results no matter how many there actually are, despite displaying several results.
  10. The necessary steps have been provided. You are, unfortunately, not able to assist in any capacity with this bug. Carry on with your blind allegiance.
  11. Here's a newly comical bug in version 8. I'm recording an audio note. The phone timeout locks while the audio is still recording, as I was always able to do in version 7. I come back to the note and it tells me that it has been DELETED! What? I haven't closed the note or touched "done" yet. I'm not submitting any bug report information as I refuse to support any further development of version 8. The release of this garbage version of evernote coincides perfectly with the inauguration of the new garbage president. The two events could not have been timed more perfectly in any universe.
  12. Anybody who says lag doesn't exist in version 8 is kidding themselves. Here are the steps to replicate: 1. Start a new note. 2. Observe massive lag as you try to do anything in the note
  13. I submitted a complaint to Apple stating this is an untested beta which I believe was released by accident.
  14. At what point to the "gurus" and "evangelists" feel betrayed enough to stop defending Evernote? I saw that GrumpyMonkey might be jumping ship and that's one of the most loyal Evernote users I've seen in these forums. I truly loved and paid for Evernote for years, but I'm done. It's just sad I have so few decent alternatives.
  15. I really scratch my head at many of the "design" choices with this update, the Notes button being one of them. I'm already (forced) to be looking at my notes with the removal of the main menu. Touching the Notes button just brings me to the top of the notes list, but so does tapping the top of the screen. This is moronic and a complete waste. I'm just so pissed with this update after advocating for Evernote for so long. The price hike didn't cause me to even flinch, but there is no excuse for this complete and seemingly random redesign, not to mention the removal of features that people actually used. I went from loving Evernote since 2009 to despising it overnight with this update.
  16. Sigh. These are two big issues for me. I used to be able to see 6 notes at once on my iPhone 7 Plus screen Now it's 4 notes. Is "manage tags" supposed to DO anything? It's just a scrolling list. Jeez. Overall I just hate every decision that went into this new version. It truly seems like change just for change sake. I'm a premium member but will likely let my subscription expire later this year.
  17. Maybe you should stop repeatedly spamming the forum with the same request.
  18. Ugh, please no. Do you really change notebook names that frequently? I really don't want an accidental double click to believe that I want to rename a notebook. I hate Finder/Windows Explorer for the same reason. It's constantly assuming I want to rename everything.
  19. Hey, that's Robert Dunder! I would never close a door on him. On you, though, absolutely. Frankly, I wouldn't bother to even post here, if I didn't feel strongly about the simple ability to remove the damn button off the screen, so no, I'm not exaggerating, but thanks for telling us what we're doing. Funny though that you pop in stating that WC doesn't bother you, but if you see Facebook, you're "gone" - well you must be exaggerating, because FB doesn't bother me at all since there isn't a FB button that I'll never use that I have to stare at every second I use the program. I always find it funny to see someone step into a thread, totally put down what everyone else is saying, but then post what they want from a position of higher authority... -Will
  20. Hey all you first-world complainers. They sure did update the Mac client so that you can customize the toolbar, and even remove the Work Chat icon entirely. Now you'll have to move onto something else to complain about.
  21. Don't they already have social media integrations? You seem to have stuck around longer than you intended Personally, I liked the original anti-social network approach to building an external brain. I don't collaborate with Evernote. I don't do the Facebook. I don't tweet my notes. Some of us have questioned the path Evernote embarked on when it started adding all of this sharing stuff. However, judging by the people I see around me every day, the sharing is probably helping them grow the user base, so we may need to just put up with it. The more revenue Evernote has, the more potential there is for it to meet the needs of private, external brain users as well. If Facebook/Twitter nonsense is currently integrated, it's well hidden and buried - nothing like the silly Work Chat icon that nobody uses.
  22. And you know this because you are the supreme arbiter of human emotions or because anyone who feels differently than you or outside of the bounds that you define as reasonable is wrong? Point is, you're stating as fact something that you cannot possibly know. Correct. I, in fact, do know that if a tiny icon ruins your life, you've got a huge first world problem and are already a basket case.
