  4. Hi All, I wanted to provide an update on Evernote's compatibility with the new M1/Silicon Apple devices. Currently, Evernote uses a default emulator to run on M1/Silicon devices and we are in the process of enabling Evernote to work natively on M1/Silicon devices. While this shouldn't cause any large scale issues that are specific to M1/Silicon devices, it is possible that isolated startup/crashing issues may appear until we are able to implement improvements that will enable us to work natively on silicon based devices without emulation. If you are using a M1/Silicon Apple device and are unable to start Evernote, or it continually crashes, please try the general troubleshooting steps below. I recommend you export any local notebooks and unsynced notes as a backup because they have not been synced to our server and will be unrecoverable after this procedure. For detailed instructions on exporting your notes, please see: https://help.evernote.com/hc/articles/209005557 Then follow these steps: If Evernote is running, press **Command + Q** to quit the Evernote application Download App Cleaner (http://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/) When the download is complete: open the zip file, then open the App Cleaner app Open the 'Applications' folder in your Finder and drag Evernote to the App Cleaner window After App Cleaner searches for and lists all related files, click **Remove** Right-click (or **Ctrl + Click**) on your Mac's Trash and select **Empty Trash** Reboot your computer Download and install Evernote for Mac (https://evernote.com/download/) Drag the Evernote icon into your 'Applications' folder Open Evernote and log in to your Evernote account If you are still encountering issues, please follow these steps to rebuild your Evernote for Mac database: **Export unsynced notes and/or local notebooks (if you have any):** Select all unsynced notes, or each local notebook, then right-click and select **Export Notes…** Choose 'Evernote XML Format (.enex)' next to Format, then **Save** the file to your desktop * Detailed instructions: (https://help.evernote.com/hc/articles/209005557) **Next, move your existing Evernote database:** Open Evernote for Mac Press and hold the **Option** key on your keyboard, then select **Help > Troubleshooting > Open Database Folder** (keep this folder open) Select **Evernote > Quit Evernote** from the menu bar Move the numbered folder from the database folder to your computer's desktop Open Evernote and log in to your Evernote account * If you have more than one numbered folder, move each one Evernote will download all of your synced notes from the servers and create a new database on your computer. You can then import any exported notes by selecting **File > Import Notes** from the menu bar. If you are still encountering startup/crashing issues on your silicon device, please contact Support for further assistance. We will follow-up here once we have a progress update native support for M1/Silicon devices.
  5. Hi All, Thank you for reaching out and for letting us know. We are able to confirm that there was a service issue on 2/1/21 that was preventing Evernote for Android from working/syncing properly. This issue may have also prevented templates from loading on other devices/clients. However, we believe this issue is now fixed, and you should now be able to use Evernote for Android, and/or templates on all devices. Please create/start a new thread if you are continuing to encounter this issue.

  11. Hi all, We’re excited to announce a new feature: Evernote notifications for Google Calendar events! When you have Evernote and Google Calendar connected, Evernote can now remind you when it’s time to take meeting notes, or open an existing note, so you never miss a detail. Event notifications give you a prompt shortly before your meetings, at the moment they start, or right after they end, so you’ll never forget to take notes or need to hunt down material you’ve prepared in advance. Take better notes—Click or tap the notification to create a preformatted meeting note that automatically fills in details from your calendar, like name, date, and attendees. Be ready for action—Instantly open an existing note connected to your meeting and find all your relevant info in one place, ready to go. Get more done—Follow up, assign tasks, and capture next steps quickly and easily. To give it a try, first make sure you have the calendar widget enabled in Home, and have a Google Calendar connected. Then follow these steps: Make sure you have allowed Evernote to send notifications to your device. Notifications should be enabled for each device and/or browser where you use Evernote. Visit this article to learn more. To manage or customize your calendar event notifications, click or tap on the More Options icon (three dots) from the calendar widget and select Calendar settings. Visit this article to learn more. If you 're looking to connect multiple calendar accounts to Evernote so you can stay on top of both personal and work life, upgrade to Evernote Professional or Teams. Learn more about how to become a meetings mastermind on our blog. Take care, Shane

  13. Hi all, I’m excited to announce an update to Tasks that’ll make it easier to focus on your most important tasks: the My Tasks tab. The My Tasks tab is a one-stop view of all the tasks you’ve created for yourself, and any tasks assigned to you by others, in order of priority. That way, you can see everything you need to personally get done, so nothing falls through the cracks. Starting with Evernote v.10.28 for desktop and v.10.24 for mobile, My Tasks will appear as the first tab in your Tasks view, followed by Assigned, Notes, and Due dates. You may notice that “Flagged” is no longer a tab—instead, we’ve moved it up to the search bar where you can quickly apply it as a suggested filter. Since the launch of Tasks, we’ve used your feedback to continually guide our improvements. The My Tasks tab is the direct result of that input. As always, I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this latest update. Take care, Shane

  18. Hi all, 2021 was a busy year at Evernote! Along with launching three big new features (Home, Tasks, and Calendar) and introducing a new lineup of subscription plans, we also released a ton of improvements and bug fixes. With so much going on, it’s possible that some recent updates may have slipped by unnoticed. Here’s a recap of some of the more notable changes since our last roundup in October: More background options for Home — The background images included with Home were all taken by Evernote employees, but you might prefer to see more widgets and not have a background instead. In that case, you can switch it off by clicking Customize and deselecting “Background.” Updated templates for 2022 — There are more than 50 ready-to-use templates in Evernote covering work, school, and life, and now we’ve updated them so you can start planning for 2022: Monthly Calendar: Keep track of special events, birthdays, and more. There are two versions, with the week starting on Sunday or Monday. Annual Calendar: Stay on track with your goals, plan ahead for milestones, and remember important dates in one place. Weekly Planner: Stay focused on important events and priorities, and add notes to highlight what’s critical each day. Daily Planner: Add tasks, appointments, and reminders to help you be productive at work and home. You can check them all out on our website, or open the template gallery from a new note to get started. Increased character limit for task titles — We increased the maximum length of a task title from 300 characters to 1000, to give you room for URLs and other details. Assign tasks to non-Evernote users — Now you can assign tasks to anyone with an email address, even if they’re not an Evernote customer. They’ll see their tasks on a special web page where they can mark (or unmark) them as complete, without having to create an account first. Task grouping — You can now see your tasks grouped by: Assigned by me, Assigned to me, Assigned to others, and Unassigned, so it’s easier to stay on top of things. If you're on the By Due Date tab in the Tasks view, tasks in each section are now sorted by due date, so it's easier to see what you need to work on first. There was a problem with Chinese or Japanese words occasionally disappearing from a note. Thankfully, that's now a thing of the past. どういたしまして! We made a number of adjustments to the note editor and the calendar functionality to fix minor bugs and improve performance. In addition to releasing updates more frequently, we’re constantly discovering more ways Evernote can be useful to you. Check out these blog posts on how Evernote can help you budget for holiday spending or finish writing your own novel. This is just a quick summary of what’s new and improved. For a more detailed rundown, check out our archive of release notes—and make sure you’ve updated to the most recent version today for all the latest features and fixes. As always, feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or comments about your experience with the latest improvements. Happy holidays! Shane
