  1. Actually that's one of the main reasons Ive moved to DT, I want full control of my data, and the option to sync or not to other devices. I get a feeling that EN is going through major funding changes, which makes it feel a bit unreliable, tbh. As well as not having the option (on Mac) to have local notebooks, or to not sync existing notebooks, for me are big limitations. This is why I cant go forward with a premium acct even though Ive had one for almost a decade (and had EN for longer than that). But, I dont yet have longer experience with DT so that remains to be seen. Worth saying that Ive opted to use Obsidian for my general note making. Very versatile, extremely good user experience and easy to sync locally with SyncThing, so I dont need to use their own cloud services. Im using across Mac, WIn10 and Android and it works beautifully.
  2. Yes DT is Mac only. And yes Ive imported enex files to DT (not sure that EN API is involved?) , it works very well. DEVONthink will generate all assets separately, as that's what EN is actually doing when it makes a note with a PDF or embedded image. Apart from that, its very good. DT search is very granular, so that's a major plus for it. If you pay for the Pro acct you also get OCR too but I can live without that fttb.
  3. THANKS so much for this post. Im downgrading my premium account to free and basically archiving all my EN work onto a PC external drive using EN portable 6.25. I wont use Evernote anymore except in case of emergency referral to old notes as have all the work imported into DEVONthink. For other readers: Ive exported all notes as enex. I dont have local notebooks as you cannot do that on a Mac. I dont need cloud, and I dont need the huge monthly GB limits for premium accts so Im calling it a day with EN as there are no other useful acct solutions offered.
  4. I came to add my voice to this topic. I have been a premium account holder for approx 10 years. I am now being hassled literally every day when I open evernote (desktop/Mac) to upgrade to a more expensive plan. NO! I easily have what I need. Evernote payment plans suck anyway, why are they so expensive? Whatever. I was paying, every year. Now, considering the toilet that evernote is collapsing into (have you used the Android app recently?) this incessant hassling to pay more will end up in me actually paying nothing at all. I'm already investigating how to export everything to Obsidian.
  5. Not sure who youre talking to here but my chrome literally updated a few minutes before I got the error (again).
  6. @PinkElephant, yeah its weird. Im not saying my suggestion is either replicable or the only solution but it does sort out this issue for me, at least temporarily. I didnt say it had been happening since timeouts were introduced, just recently (say last 2 or 3 months). I never had the problem before that.
  7. I keep getting this same error. I work on more than one computer which Evernote seems to think is very confusing (duh). This may or may not contribute to the problem but I think this issue arises when your log in times out. It seems to now have a 30 day limit (or shorter?), and if you work across a number of machines this is a possible cause of timeouts throwing errors. But yes, it's not only the OP that is getting this problem. I never used to get this an have been using Evernote for years.
  8. Yes I confirm as a user that it seems to be Cybersec. I had it checked and now Ive unchecked EN syncs again. It was syncing before no problem with Cybersec checked but for a couple of days has been having issues.
