Interesting (& sad) to hear. Thankfully, I don't have these issues and (knock-on-wood), EN has been functioning very well on windows with the new versions coming out every other week or so. Hopefully you (&/or EN) can figure out what's wrong because I don't want to even think about moving to another program.
I was force to update to newest version some days ago, stating the old version will be unusable.
Ditto - but about 2-3 weeks ago. I have not had the issues you mention (knock on wood). My main concerns are: - version updates are now automatic. I'm not a fan of this with any app/program. I prefer to wait a while and see how the new code functions. - there is no manual sync. This is mostly from my long history with EN and getting conflicting notes (and the time-consuming issues of sorting them out) Overall, the functionality has been very good. Sometimes when I switch from Windows to iPhone, there will be a lag in getting the iPhone up to date but generally things are going in the right direction. I hope everything continues in this direction.

This thread does a decent job of sharing experiences similar to my own - duplicate notes, taking forever to sync, losing data, etc. I've now started to create a new note when not at my desk. Then I'll deal with putting the information where it should actually be later in my Windows version (legacy). I'm going to explore using the notes app to do the same thing as I find that when I'm outside, I'm reluctant to even open Evernote due to all the issues. How far this software (& company) has fallen in the last few years is truly sad. iPhone SE II, ios: newest version, Evernote: latest version

Yes _ I realized as I was writing that it was just a general sharing of frustration. However to make it useful would have required: 1) a lot of writing in 2) a Windows thread (ie: not ios) so I opted to leave it as a general post of unhappiness. Suffice to say that most of the issue(s) revolve around sync (or lack of or not knowing for sure when it happens). Just after my original post I had **another** conflicting post - aaargh!!

Thank you. This may slow down my need to search for alternatives. On a different (but related) note, is there a list of Legacy 'features' which do not appear in v10? (like offline notes, clipper(?), etc). Since EN will only highlight stuff they *have* in v10 & not the stuff they took out, I can't count on them for this list. I suspect that it's somewhere in the forum but likely in individual complaint posts.

I will keep using legacy version 6.25 until...
RL7836 replied to McClausky's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Many thanks! I've now got it installed on the new computer - for how long - no one knows. I'll just have to deal with learning curve, slowness & lack of useful/comfortable features once they take the Legacy version away. (Hopefully, the competition sees what's going on & starts to create better options with easy migration). It's such a shame when companies lose their focus and make decisions that are counter to customer satisfaction. Some time in the past two years LastPass did something similarly idiotic. I thought I could wait them out but after a month or so, I gave up, did my homework and moved to another password manager. -

I recently built a new computer and had saved the URL to directions on how to return to the legacy app. Now that I'm up on the new computer, I find that the thread with directions has apparently been deleted. Is it possible for me to get the legacy app on my new computer? -
With paid Evernote does it do OCR on Local Notebooks?
RL7836 replied to woonoo's topic in Going Paperless
Is this also true for mobile? I'm frequently in locations with no internet access (no phone service at all), if I cannot have my notes locally on the phone, they are completely unavailable (not good!). Side question (as I'm searching for the answer elsewhere on the forums): is it still possible to go back to the 'Legacy Version'? I bookmarked the directions on how to do it and now that I'm on a new computer (& need the directions), it appears that the thread has been deleted. -
Chance of a 64bit evernote?
RL7836 replied to sinman's question in Evernote for Windows Requests (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Older thread but the question remains relevant. I just had an issue w/ EN that required me to kill the program in task manager. I noticed that the program was still 32-bit, so started to search interwebs to ensure I'm not running an old, feeble version. This thread gave me my answer & provided a bit of an education along the way (many thanks to prior posters). However, now I'm curious. Is there a rough timeline for a 64-bit Windows-based Evernote?
